Just signed B up for tennis lessons this fall. He is SO excited. TBH, I can't wait, either!

That pisses me off tgrimes! C was overweight per the BMI chart at his annual this year. It was discussed in a way that his height needs to catch up and switch to 2% milk and less of it. Then follow up in six months. At six months he was in the normal range. Never once was the word “overweight” said. Such a triggering word for both kid and parent.

I just bought this T-shirt for C. He is going to be so excited. We are character T people now. He just loves them and all the other kids compliment his shirts too.

I had my repeat CT scan today and it was clear!
I’m very relieved but I still have these weird low grade fevers every night for the past four months and we don’t know why. Last night I got all dizzy and blurred vision and I took my temp and it was 99.7. It goes anywhere up to 100.5 and when it goes up I feel it. I get a headache or feel fuzzy. The Dr is stumped. Bloodwork is clear and now the scan is clear so who knows? I guess I’m ok living with it but it’s odd that it came on suddenly and makes me worry there’s something wrong.

Also I had a great day with my mom today. I took her to her first ever pedicure. She was so scared people would judge her callused feet but loved it in the end. Then we went to lunch, Target, and a jeweler to resize my engagement ring because it keeps falling off since I’ve lost weight. I also found a beautiful opal there and may go back at some point to get a mother’s ring made with an opal. I don’t usually like opal but this was bluer and very pretty.
After we went back to my parents and just hung out. It was really nice and I’m glad I took the full day off to unplug from work a bit.

Glad your CT scan was clear wedding. I hope they figure out what's wrong or it goes away on its own soon.

That would piss me off too tgrimes. And dapostrophe that's such BS that all the kids have been similar size but they only commented on E. Grr. Like mskatiep I've also been sensitive to these issues and don't even get me started on BMI. That outdated worthless measure is how they do weight in the military and it pisses me off to no end. It's horribly biased against women. I was at a military school where there were some makes who were clearly obese and passed the BMI standards. Meanwhile women who were fit and in shape but with more athletic build failed it. 😤😡

Same with some of the measurements they do...I think they still use neck as one, which again, can be skewed if you're super fit. They keep talking about making changes to the weight/fitness system but not sure what if anything has changed.

Like others said, they recommended waiting one cycle to see what your cycle is. With ds it took 9 cycles, but I was always regular so according to my physician this had nothing to do with remaining hormones. With dd I didn’t wait and got pregnant in our first cycle.

wedding I’m glad the scan came back clear. Not to freak you out but have they tested for Lyme? I’ve heard that unexplained fevers like that can be a symptom. peachsmama I’m glad it all went well!

In regards to BMI, that’s the one reason I didn’t end up going with the midwife here. Her first meeting with me she stated “because of your bmi you’re considered obese so we will need to do extra ultrasounds and testing throughout the pregnancy”. My OB has never brought up my weight (I’ve only gained 2lbs) but when I explained that to her she said BMI isn’t something to go by and most important is overall health and lifestyle .

Oh I know it gets some guys too, but there are many more women I've seen on the weight program who are more or less fit whereas men who are straight up obese can pass the standards. It's infuriating.

Wow major TP to that doctor tgrimes. M is perfect. Lucas is solid and built like a rock and weighs the same as Landon and no one has ever mentioned his weight to me. And add me to the club of having a not super healthy relationship with food and dieting at a young age. It fucks with your mind. I can’t believe a heath professional would say that shit in front of her.

I'm surprised your MW focused on that. In my experience they have always been more on the "Women's bodies are amazing and powerful at any size" side of thing. I brought up my weight to my MW, and mentioned that I didn't intend to gain much. She said that was probably unrealistic lol and to just focus on eating healthy. I'm sorry yours jumped right into that, but I'm glad you found an OB that is treating you well and without any of the overweight pregnant lady stigma.

She didn’t even know about my pcos or any of my health history and just jumped to that.

cheeksmum that is weird that she automatically assumed you would need extra tests especially without actually knowing your health history. I've had extra ultrasounds this pregnancy but because of my previous loss not my weight. I had baseline labs drawn to watch for pre-e but that's the only extra test. I'm all for medical intervention when needed, but don't jump right into if nothing warrants it.

Bitch session ahead: I am going to have to call the pool co. early tomorrow morning. The guy came late yesterday for a little while (an hour, maybe?) and when I spoke with him, asked that I request a bulk trash pick-up on our trash day for all the debris. I told him that was Wednesday, and he said he would be back today to do some work and take everything out. Surprise--he did not show. And obviously no other work happened.
Meanwhile, the backyard is essentially unusable; besides all the debris there are extension cords, trash and random tools (including a hacksaw!) all over...just a mess. When we scheduled all of this I said this needed to be done before Labor Day (we have friends coming), or we needed to wait til September. I asked the guy again yesterday and he said it would be done Wed. or Thursday--there ain't no way at this point. The weather has been fantastic (no rain) so there is no excuse, IMO, for not getting this done expeditiously.
I feel like a huge part of this is that they know I'm not paying the bill, so how much room do I have to really complain, right? And of course this is when DH had to leave so I get to be the bad guy.
If you made it that far, here's a cookie. and a TL;DR Haiku: Pool taking too long. Why is ev'ryone so slow? I want my yard back.

Took Cadence's stitches out myself. They said they would dissolve in 5-7 days and they didn't. If they didn't they said to call her regular pedi. I'm not dealing with taking time off work and a $65 copay for 3 little stitches. Pretty sure I could be a doctor now.

flamingo not cool. Plus the company should take care of the debris on their own. Not you. Don’t let them use you!

flamingo What a pain in the ass! I’m sorry. I’d make them come finish and haul all the debris out themselves! Oh yeah, no way in heck I can do it, nor will I. The old liner is huge and heavy, there's chunks of concrete, etc. It will take a couple men, wheelbarrows, etc. I'm hoping if I can get someone at the pool co. on the phone early they'll get someone out to at least move all the trash out. Otherwise I'll be calling the city to see if I can stop the bulk pick-up--would hate for the trash to come out for nothing. So frustrating.

flamingo, they should be removing the debris themselves. And I definitely would be calling tomorrow and speaking with someone. If they don’t address it with you would you be able to get the property owner to get involved?
