I’ve got way more on the schedule this week than usual so I’m feeling a little crazy. What is on your calendar?

This morning we had a sneak peek at DD3’s preschool. This evening we have two different back to school night sessions at the elementary for DD1 & 2. Doc appt for DD4 tomorrow, for DD3 on Thursday. Have to get in to order glasses for DD1 at some point. And my parents are going out of town tomorrow so I’m losing my free child care and extra drivers! I’ll survive but I always appreciate them so much more when they’re gone. 😬

H and SD are coming home tonight super late with her giant Uhaul full of her stuff. SD has an interview(!) tomorrow and another on Wednesday. Hopefully one of them sticks. The school is ~90 minutes away, so she'd need to move out ASAP (and bring all her stuff with her). I look like a pretzel having everything crossed for her.
SS1 is coming to the house on Saturday and bringing his baby so we can meet her. I'm very much looking forward to it.

Just found out DH has a meeting tonight from 6-9 so I guess I'm on my own. We were going to grill out so now I need to figure out something for dinner for just me and DD1.
I missed a WW weigh in last week when we were on vacation so weighed myself today and I'm down another 2.8 lbs! 34 lbs total so far.
We are heading to the beach this weekend which I'm excited for. Even though we went on vacation last week it was not as relaxing as I hope this weekend will be with just 4 of us.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend!
We went to the zoo and a family party Saturday which were both fun. Then yesterday, we spent the whole day at home which we haven't done in months. I got to take a bath, go for a run, get a lot of cleaning done, and DS took a nap on me...it was a pretty perfect day. AND, we got two nights in a row where he slept in 6 hour stretches again...my FX are crossed that whatever sleep issue he was having the past two weeks we are coming out of and we can get back to better sleep!

sarahh I bawled my way through a documentary on military working dogs last night and it made me think of your dog. Did you get any advice for his/ her behavior? Can I ask... was your dog ever physically injured on duty? I believe you mentioned PTSD but more out of curiosity wondering what your dog might have faced. It's ok if you can't tell me. I can't imagine being a dog and seeing all the horrible sides of war but not being able to communicate like we are.

jessijean , his handler was killed in front of him and he got shrappnel (no clue how to spell that) in his front legs. Our vet gave us a new prescription but it has similar side effects so we only are giving it as needed. We also got him a new cage that he seems to like and it keeps him contained. I'm not really sure what else we can do. We got him when he was 2 and he's 8 now so I think we just need to keep him in his comfort zone as much as possible. ETA: DH went through a bad period about 5 years after he got out of the Army with his PTSD so I'm wondering if dogs go through something similar. But like you said, we will never know.

sarahh the poor thing I can't even imagine. It's tough because you know he's not acting out just because. There has to be something triggering it. It must be so weird for them to go from working dog to a family pet. Complete different mindset. I do think it's pretty neat that you were able to adopt him. Giving him the love he needs after such trauma.

I went back to work today. I was emotional over the weekend when I really let myself think about it but today I was pretty busy so it went fine. The baby did good with my in laws and only drank two bottles which surprised me. We will see how the rest of the week goes.

I'm over here in grading hell. It has caused one anxiety attack so far. I need to get them finished tonight but I'm off to get my sons so good luck on that...

Manic is right! We could be making our 3500 mile trek this time next week! I am trying to squeeze in time with all my lady friends that I have met here and pack. We have sold a much of stuff which is great and I have a donation place picking some stuff up on Wednesday. Also a lady came and saw the house today and wants to see it tomorrow! I really hope that she rents the place! We are going to stay home all morning tomorrow so I can clean and make this place look (and smell 😝) even better than it did today! Me and H will seriously buy a bottle of Dom if this lady rents this place. Both boys are a little under the weather which stinks! Hopefully L will sleep better he was up sooo many times last night.
