We had Rs one year appointment today, too.
I asked why their sheet said 2% milk and she said due to the obesity problem in the US. But, she said she wasn’t concerned with R and to continue with whole milk.
R’s Doctor also said to stop with the bottles and to just offer the milk with meals in the sippy cup. She said that and other food will give her enough calcium. We were giving bottles about 30-60 minutes before meals, so I guess that cuts down on time for us.
Also, we were still tracking bottles and poops. So, I guess that can stop. I fill kind of sad, since I like documenting things.

I too have been tracking some stuff still like sleep/wake ups , naps and nursing sessions during the day but decided that since i skipped tracking more and more and she still made it to 12mo fine lol maybe uur was time to stop. It feels good but also weird!

Wow! I'm impressed with the tracking. We have baby h appt today, and I have to stop and calculate how many oz formula he's getting bc we don't track anything and I'm not certain. I know Dr will ask. I'm going to see if she wants us to drop the bottles immediately or if gradually is okay. It's working so well. addymac Good job on getting the haircut. I can't do it!! I love baby h hair so much. I know he looks silly bc it's all different lengths, but I'm still waiting. Anyone else have a baby who likes to eat EVERYTHING but cow's milk? Sigh

My nanny is a tracker and I appreciate it. It helps me on my days off, helps us see patterns, and makes me feel like a part of his day even tho I’m not around. But even if I’m not physically writing it down, like on vacation this last week, I still track it in my head.
Can’t stop won’t stop. Lol.

This kid shovels food and tries to eat anything in site including rocks, lint and specks of dust but looks at me like I'm poisoning her and lets the milk dribble all out of the cup down her face!

R is doing ok with milk in the sippy cup. I leave it on her tray and she drinks it more towards the end of the meal. I think she’s doing 2-3 ounces, maybe more - but I’m not measuring.
T had her pre-K meet and greet today. She doesn’t have a teacher yet, since the teacher got a job with a school system. But, our pre-k is run by the YMCA so her old teacher from the Y was there. She might be covering the class until they hire someone. I am so excited for T to start.

Guys I think my cat died. He was older, 16, and for the last few months has lived mainly outside because his hips we're messed up and he couldn't get in the litter box. I knew this was coming but it just sucks he has been with me most of my adult life. He hasn't come home for the last two days and isn't in any of his usual spots. We looked around the neighborhood and asked neighbors. Nothing.

Oh yellowcat I’m so sorry 😔 I hope he’s just hiding and will come home to snuggle you at least one more time. I was too anxious to NOT track his stuff. Even before my nanny I tracked on my phone. With her we had a more organized system in a book. Seeing it written out made me calm and make sure I wasn’t forgetting when he last ate or if it was enough or what. 🤷🏻♀️ Pretty sure I had PPA but 🤷🏻♀️

I hope you will find him or someone who seen him so you at least know. Our Nero is also 16yo and hasnt been well lately, i know they cant stay with us forever but I am not ready yet ugh.

yellowcat I’m so sorry about your kitty, I hope he randomly shows back up. L isn’t really caring for cows milk yet- I just started trying it this week. Most of the time she spits it right back out. I’m trying to just do a straw cup since that is what she’s been drinking water out of really well. I think I’m going to end up having to nurse her a while longer. She also was never really into using a pacifier so I don’t have to take that away. But there is no rush for that- IMO. I let DS use a pacifier for sleep until he turned 2. My niece just stopped using hers this month and she’s 3.5! (That’s late and I wouldn’t wait that long personally)

I let T use her paci for sleep until a little after 3 years. It stayed in the crib and she had to put up before she got out. R already puts hers up. I’m in no rush to get rid of the paci, but I don’t think R is as attached. T used to cry in the middle of the night to have us find it, because she refused to search for it - and, that’s still her personality.

yellowcat So sorry about the cat. We had to put our 20 year old cat down last year with kidney failure, and it sucks so much. Hoping against hope the cat turns up. I tracked like crazy for DS1 and it both added to my anxiety (I think I also had PPA), but was also necessary due to my anxiety if that makes any sense at all. Poor baby H has pain after 1 year vaccines. Woke up crying which is not typical for him and wouldn't put weight on his legs. He's already better though, so I think it just needed stretched out. I'll give Motrin if it persists. I'm so glad he finally has the MMR. Reports of measles outbreaks had me so freaked out!!

I think I'll let baby H keep the paci until the dentist yells at me, lol. He loves it so much.

DS had his paci until like almost 2.5. He only got it for sleep. It stayed in his bed. :::Shruggy guy:: E doesn't really love whole milk either. She'll drink a few sips at a time. But she loves cheese and yogurt, etc and she drinks a ton of water. I'm not worried.

Hey girls! Lots of big things happening with y’all the past few days. addymac, already at the haircut milestone! I put A in jeans yesterday and he looked so much like a toddler. muscari, I hope D is feeling better. yellowcat, I hope your cat turns up soon. jt2378, I’m with you. I never tracked anything but how little sleep we were all getting. 😂

I’m glad now A never took to a pacifier, but really it’s my boobs that became the soother.
Our camping trip was difficult this time. A was teething and the first night wouldn’t sleep. It was mostly MHs fault, making too much noise in the camper. I wasn’t as kind as I could’ve been about that.

I’m also getting a little impatient about A walking. He used to let us walk holding his hands and now he barely likes to put weight on them. Is it normal to backtrack like this?

Yes, I wouldn’t worry yet, still well within the range of normal. Sometimes they just get lazy 🤷🏻♀️ Also +1 to glad now I don’t have to deal with a paci. I want to frigin sleep again though. I’m getting sick of the wakeups. Ugh

I wouldn't worry yet as long as he's still standing and putting weight on them that way. He knows he can get around by crawling, and he's good at that. Walking is more difficult. He'll walk when he's ready.

kristyw and jt2378, thanks! I’m not really worried, just impatient. Im ready for him to not be crawling on the ground specifically. Haha he just was so dusty and dirty when we were camping from crawling all over the rocks and dirt.

So, H dropped on me this morning that he was asked if he wanted to be a supervisor at his job. So, he would have to go in earlier and that means we’d need daycare. T is starting pre-K, but they have a WRAP program to make it full time - it’s only $420 a month. There are still openings, but I don’t know how long. I don’t know what to do with R. I think we’d only need part-time afternoons. I’m not sure how I feel about all this. I’d see H even less and I’m not sure the increased income is worth it. Bah... I’ve been spiraling all day.
