DH left on a work trip and the baby is toddling around the house like a little drunk person. She has an item in each hand and keeps tumbling over.

I am at my ILs this morning. I just tried putting DS down for a nap here and it was an absolutely epic disaster. He is finally asleep, 45 minutes late and after much screaming 😬 They babysit once a week when I work so hopefully he figures himself out in the next 6 weeks before he comes here. I honestly have no idea what went wrong this morning, I did the same thing as at home 🤷♀️ I guess maybe I waited too long or he was having too much fun playing or something

I'm having a day.
E slept like garbage last night so we had a rough start. Then I loaded up my car with the old plywood from the deck with the intent of dropping it off at the dump to save some money.
I was wrong. Very wrong. They want to charge me $60 a trip to bring whatever is in my car. A trip. So I figure since I can't fit all this shit and the car seat all in at once it will take about 3 trips. Then the lady says its $38 on top of that for them to take the carpet. I just can't.
So I drove my car full of plywood and old nasty carpet home. We are looking into other options. That's just asinine.

cythe , does your town or city have like a dump day where they take stuff which the garbage doesn’t collect? Ours does 2x a yr and it’s for town residents only. It’s a joke now and no longer take batteries or motor oil or appliances. They used to so we have a bunch of old appliances and electronics we have to figure out how to dispose off. The county’s waste station is like an hour away 😫, anyways I totally get it. It’s a PITA to get rid of stuff.

Well I was waitin for DS to explode from excitement but my sisters family are on a road trip this week and coming back tomorrow so he’s had a couple of days to calm down 😂 Anywyas holy crap 4 boys! I just can’t! Even my sister is like😱 and lil fella wants to get in on the action too...he’s like crawling as fast as he can trying to catch up with them 😆🤣 I’ve never seen DS so excited when they arrived last Friday....I really thought he was going to explode. He was so excited and literally pulled out E.V.E.R.Y. single toy he has from all corners of the house...it was complete insanity. 🤣😅😱😫

H called on his way home and I asked when the guy was coming to grout our master shower. He said he’d call him and “he’s just coming to do the grout.” And I said yeah, that’s what I just said. And then he suddenly had to go and is pouty bc I’m mean.

DD2 took no naps at daycare today, gave “kisses” to the other crawlers in her room, and held a boy’s hand across the high chair tray at lunch. When I came to pick her up she crawled over no less than 4 others to get to me by the door. This is probably the most social my reserved and quiet baby has ever been at daycare before.
Rocking her to sleep right now. I hate that she goes to bed so early and I barely get to see her. She sleeps fairly good to really good most nights so I won’t mess with it but still....

cythe Our dump charges by weight with a $5 minimum. They actually gave me a hard time when I was still living with my mom because they track the plates. We were moving out of our house to combine with my step fathers family so there was so much stuff. I hope you find a solution. danvers So cute! Dinner was McDonald’s and DD1’s last session of soccer is over. She got a trophy so it was all worth it. I’m glad that was done because evening activities are a challenge. Both kids are in bed and now I get to relax.

Everyone is fed, baby is asleep, and DS1 is watching videos. I can finally sit.

I plopped the kid in bed and heard her squawking to herself over an hour later. Kid, go to bed!

Yes, I was also given instructions on how to go through the scale, so they charge by weight too except our minimum is $60. I'm sure I looked at her all stupid like because I still can't believe it. I even made sure that she was well aware that I had an SUV with a baby seat in the back so I could only move a small amount of stuff at a time. Still $60 each trip. I'm still dumbfounded by it.

Uuuggghhhh that sucks. Ours is by weight too but there's no minimum and we get two coupons in our property tax statement every year for a free 500lbs each (I just made a run a couple weeks ago that was free 😂) Does your SUV have a hitch? I'd see if I could borrow a trailer from someone and just haul everything at once. OR put an add on your local FB or nextdoor or whatever page for someone to haul. I forgot, but was it all wood? If there's any metal then someone may want to pick that up to scrap. Or check your bulk trash schedule.

Technically its Friday morning but I can't sleep, and even if I could Ev has been awake since 1:30 (its 2:45) mostly yelling, some crying and some rolling around in her bed.
I'm just feeling defeated over here, like I can't do anything right. My kid wont sleep, wont crawl, wont go onto her belly, she wont even get onto her hands and knees. Any attempt to do any of this just puts her into instant meltdown mode. I know not to worry, kids develop differently, ect but she wont even try. She has never been on all 4s. The internet tells me a year is when to worry and ar 10.5 months, we are almost there.
Sorry for the dear diary post, I'm just having a hard time right now. I'm sure its because its 3 am and I havent slept since E was like 4 months old. Tomorrow we try and tackle the split night that we seem to have developed, I'm pretty sure it's because she gets too much daytime sleep. How cruel is that. Kid doesn't sleep at night? Better keep her awake more during the day so you dont get any mental break.
Good times.

Hugs cythe. It is hard not to worry and I get how you're feeling. DS1 was a pretty late talker. Our DCP reminds me about how I worried about it a lot back then and now we laugh because he seriously talks nonstop. It is easy to look back and laugh but we were really concerned at the time. LO was pretty non mobile until all of a sudden.....he wasn't. Now I'm pulling my hair out because I can't keep him out of anything. I think E is in the realm of normal but I completely get being worried. In my other BMB, the STMs advised that the early talkers were usually less mobile at first, and the early crawlers/walkers were usually later talkers. Everything feels more overwhelming MOTN. I hope you can get some rest. Hang in there.

cythe Hugs - I felt the same way that you do about DS1. He was/is the world’s worst sleeper, and he also haaaaaated being in his tummy. He barely crawled and we basically had to wait until he could walk on his own before he could be mobile without yelling at us to come help him. It’s hard, and it’s normal to feel defeated and like you’re helpless. Come here to vent anytime- that’s what we’re here for. Hoping you get some more sleep tonight 🤗

Cythe, I'm not going to tell you not to worry, because when i was where you are, i worried. I was looking up all kinds of hints and tricks to encourage him to crawl, but he really just had to be ready. Which sucks. And i get the no sleep thing too. It's like i always tell DH, kids are the best thing that ever happened to us, but they are also one of the worst when it comes to stress levels and sleep and feeling like a real person.

cythe I hope you are feeling better today. I know all to well about that defeated feeling. For the better part of the past year you have been handling things like a boss but that sleep deprivation can make things worse and make you feel worse. Be kind to yourself. Remember this phase will pass, is your husband around to help with night wakings? Are you comfortable turning off the monitor and letting her cry it out? As for the developmental stuff, can you see your pediatrician and bring it up again? Do you have a physiotherapist near that you can meet with? I got this brochure from one at a baby group with DD1, she said to look into things if any of the signs to watch for in physical development appear. pathways.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Assure-Brochure-English-2016.pdf

I was able to laugh at the signs to watch out for because E CAN do all the things it lists she just CHOOSES not to. Minus crawling, ofc
