It's already lunch time (on the east coast at least) where is everyone?

Hi all, got to work a little while ago, H had his 9 month appointment today. Actually it was tomorrow, I showed up on the wrong day but they were able to get me in. He's weighing in at 21 lbs, the pedi had worried about his weight percentile dropping in the first few months, well now that he's eating like a teenage boy it jumped from 34% at 6 months to 75% today. The dr. did a little happy dance lol. They still want us to follow up with the endocrinologist just so they can clear him but looks like we're good now.

DS1 was sent home from school yesterday with a stomach bug. Cue my H coming home early from work last night with stomach problems and then my own problems starting around 3am. Ugh! I’m guessing we all picked it up from the same place. So we’re home, DS1 hasn’t had issues since last night (yay for motn laundry and bath 😔) and is acting normal except for lack of appetite. H is sleeping and I’m working from home and napping. Luckily DS2 seems ok so far. At least it’s early in the week so I can decontaminate before the birthday party.

Yay for a good appt laurensc927. L jumped up in his percentile too probably due to being such a good eater. I hope the sickness passes through your family quickly jules1614.

I'm at work. L has been sleeping much better after trying some sleep training and I am finally starting to feel human again. I'm sure I just jinxed it typing that out though. Not much else happening except trying to get things together to go out of town on Sat.

Has anyone has mastitis without a fever and flu like symptoms? My boob looks like it and feels like it (redness, sore, warm to the touch), but ds2 got the clogged duct out this morning. I already sent a message to my ob. I feel fine other than a sore boob 🤷 but want to be on top of it just in case.

I’m pretty sure H gave me his man cold. My throat hurts and I’ve been feeezing all day.
I have a girls night tonight that I normally take B to but I think I’m going to take him home and do bedtime then go out after at like 7. I think it’s a good idea now but I’ll probably have regrets at 9:30 tonight when I’m washing pump parts.

Booo to the stomach issues jules1614! Well done on the weight gain baby@laurensc927! I'm giving BabyWaffle her bottle, it's been a hectic day for me at work + gym at lunch and sorting out H's birthday present after work then running home to clean up (move stuff around/put away tons of washing) before the cleaning lady comes tomorrow morning!

laurensc927, yayyy! Great news! jules1614, oh no, I'm so sorry. I hope you all feel better soon. grumpycat, that definitely sounds like mastitis. I have never had it, but from what I know, it is better to get on top of it, which it sounds like you are. I hope you get better soon!

I nursed DD2 for the last time on Sunday evening and my boobs do not care. Like, no pain, no swelling, nothing. So, yay, I guess? That probably means I was correct that she wasn't getting much when I fed her.
Also, looks like my baby is opposite of everyone else's, she dropped quite a few weight %! But, she went from like 89th to 70th. And her height went from 65ish to 70. LOL. She is constantly moving now, enough that she works up a sweat very frequently, so I think she is slimming because of that!

Howdy!! DS is at daycare and the girls are currently napping! I'm doing some laundry, packing up some diapers to mail out and an old navy return and then I'll head to the mail box. Not a whole lot going on today.

grumpycat The first time I had mastitis I got hit by a truck with a 102 fever, body aches, and then I noticed the sore/red/swollen spot on my boob. The second time I was treated for mastitis it was because a clogged duct wouldn’t clear, and it got red/hot/swollen. I didn’t feel the greatest but never developed a fever or body aches like the first time. The antibiotics suck- 4 times a day x10 days but it’s better to treat than to let it go on and get worse. I hope you feel better soon!

C is itty bitty. He has been hovering around the 10th percentile- used to be slightly above, now he’s slightly below. His pedi isn’t concerned because he’s still following his curve. He’s only 17 lb, constantly moving, and not nursing as much.

I was massaging it pretty intensely last night. I will be on the look out for anything further.

@grumpcat I’ve never had mastitis but I have had clogged ducts that were really sore even after they were cleared. I think talking to your OB is best just in case!

I'm really curious what percentiles the girls will be at for the 9 month appointment. They've been under 3% for weight except at their 6 month appointment Siena "jumped" to 6th percent (I think...). They've taken so well to solids and Paris' reflux has gotten sooo much better so I feel like they've gained a lot. Paris is pretty thin still, but Siena is a straight up meatball.
My H is home with the girls today so they met me at work for lunch. It was so nice to see them in the middle of my day. DD1 tugs at my heart strings though always telling me she misses me and doesn't want me to work.
Has anyone in here ever made a big career change? I've never thought I would stay in my accounting job forever and with everything going on with my mom and already taking a loss in income from my H having to go part time/also pay a babysitter twice a week so that we have someone to watch the girls every day, it just feels like this is the time to do it. I'm thinking I could substitute teach and start building my photography business. And once the girls are in school I can decide if I want to go back to school for my teaching credential or just put everything into photography. I'm just not a risk taker, which is what landed me in accounting in the first place.

belle0720, I was going to say, no, I've never had a big career change because I'm an accountant and we're too safe, haha. But it does sound like a good time for you to do it if you're going to! grumpycat, I hope it's not mastitis! thatgolfb, congrats to your boobs. Get well soon jules1614 and rooskie. Glad H is chunking up laurensc927! I think Jojo is slimming down if anything. I'm thinking she probably doesn't get as much milk nursing since she's losing interest in it, and some days she eats a lot, but not staggering amounts. But that's okay, she had jumped up quite a few curves, so she can come back down to 50% now. Not much for us today, somehow it's gone by quickly. We did get out to Butterfly Gardens for an indoor activity since the smoke is still bad here I like it there, feels like a vacation.

So N has figured out a straw cup....except he hadn’t figured out how to swallow. So he just sucks and sucks and then it all dribbles out his mouth. It’s amusing and annoying. I’m guessing some obviously he swallows. But not enough to keep his clothes dry.

But he’s scooting and loves the jumper so he’s moving.

I’ll try to remember to ask at his 1 year.

Fwiw, I've heard that ebf babies gain quickly the first 6 months and then slow down. Ff babies gain more quickly after the first six months. Not sure how true that is. Ds2 has slowed down and seems to be comfortable in the 70s percentiles for height/weight. He's a chunker though. Ds1 was a peanut though

I forgot I have a massage tomorrow at 9. Glad I remembered now and not tomorrow. I probably would have missed it. My back is so bad. I can barely lift N from the ground. Hoping this will help until I get into a physio or chiro.

For those following: my boob looks so much better! I think it was residual from a gnarly clogged duct. But like I said, I'll keep an eye on it!

quinn I think I'm going to start working on a plan to leave at the end of the year. The one big thing holding me back is that my H doesn't have medical through his work, so he's been looking for other opportunities and is also going to bring up the possibility of getting medical through work to his boss (although I think they are just too small to offer it). He says he really wants me to quit my job, so hopefully we can figure it out.
