I brought my laptop to school so I could be productive while pumping. So here I sit scrolling through HIH on my phone, laptop closed, and avoiding all manners of work right now.
What’s everyone up to today?

DD2 has started taking breast milk from a straw cup at daycare. So while I’m glad she’s getting milk during the day now (it’s cut down on our nighttime wake ups!), I feel like I’ll be pumping for a lot longer then I anticipated. I’ve also noticed my supply is significantly higher if I have caffeine in the morning. I don’t like coffee (or any “hot” beverage) but am not super thrilled with the idea of having soda every morning either as I was hoping to drink a lot more water now that school has started again. Water does nothing for my supply which, to bring it all full circle, suddenly matters again because DD2 has actually started drinking again at daycare.
Sigh... that’s my tired Monday thought for the morning. Nothing else big here.

We had a hard night with the kid waking up at 9 pm for some reason and then again from 2:30-4 am when I finally just fed her. I couldn't sleep during that time. Anyway, giant shoutout to my husband who woke me at 8 am with a baby who had been fed, changed and had a cup of coffee for me on the nightstand.

I'm touring preschools today for DS1 to start next month. By the time i decided i wanted him to do it, everything was full, but two have last minute openings, so i have to choose one. DH is anti-preschool in general, so he is grudgingly allowing me to pick one of the co-ops because they are cheaper.

Waiting on my window cleaner! He comes once a year, super sweet older Italian man, does an amazing job for a great price. Buuut...he’s chatty so it takes forever and he is not the best estimator of time. Said he’d probably be here between 9 and 10. So I rushed around this morning getting everything tidied up etc since we were out last night and left a bit of a mess. Stalled feeding DS and putting him down for nap so I wasN’t stuck in the nursery. It’s now 10:15 and he’s not here yet 🙄 Oh well, I can now drink coffee and play with DD while DS sleeps since everything else is done already 🤷♀️

Hello! Aren’t there coffee makers that you can program to be ready when you wake up? I need one of those.
I just ate leftover chicken enchiladas for lunch and I’m glad my office mate is out because it smells a lot.

danvers coffee is such an important part of my life that I can’t compute not drinking it! How has the start of school been? Do you have a “good” class?

Hello! Aren’t there coffee makers that you can program to be ready when you wake up? I need one of those. Ours does, but the power keeps going out every month or so (why???) and I can't remember how to change the time on the clock so it currently reads 12:45 am. The automatic coffee function is awesome when your clock is set correctly!

Regular Monday here, I went for a long walk by the lake since it’s actually finally a nice temperature and not ridiculously humid.

danvers coffee is such an important part of my life that I can’t compute not drinking it! How has the start of school been? Do you have a “good” class? I just can’t “drink” hot beverages like cider, hot chocolate, coffee. Plus I think coffee taste gross 😝 My class is... ok. Today was actually a good day but I’d you had asked me Friday the answer would not have been the same. They’re a very needy group so it’s been hard to give it my all at school and then run on E with my own kids. I love what I do, it’s just a bit harder with two kids now.

H does bargening and negotiations for out teacher’s union so I’m solo tonight and possibly the rest do this week depending on how long this takes. There’s little to no power for teacher’s unions in our state anymore but he’s hoping to get in some healthcare benefits tonight and maybe negotiate a small stipend increase too.
Elsa and Anna are parenting while I pick up whirlwind mess that is our house.

We had a Parents As Teachers visit after work tonight. LO wasn't interested in any activity she brought for him, but I couldn't keep him away from the activities she brought for DS1. It was a good visit, but exhausting. These nights are always marathons since it pushes everything later than usual.
I'm getting clogs all of a sudden and I can't figure out why, plus I keep forgetting to take my Sunflower Lecithin to help clear the clog. 🤦♀️

Pretty sure my dog has a bladder infection. So now I have to take a urine sample in the morning and somehow fit the vet into my day tomorrow. We are going to the zoo with friends but hopefully the vet will let me drop off the sample on the way there and then I can swing by on the way home again for meds...fingers crossed they don’t need to actually see the dog because not sure how I’d swing that

danvers Hope your H was able to negotiate some extra benefits! I hate seeing these trends in the USA of funding for schools and teacher salaries/benefits being cut. Blows my mind. We entrust our kids to teachers all day to give them vital skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this world. Shouldn’t we make the education system an attractive place to work? So we have qualified and motivated people interacting with our kids each day? Sigh. bootsorhearts1 Glad your H is able to help out at night. That pep talk sounded cute! rebeccabunch Hey hey! Welcome back!!! Glad to hear things are going better. How’s the little miss doing?
