I was fine with C having another year before kindergarten but he has grown up so much this summer and I’m a little sad he needs to wait another year. A bunch of his friends start next week and C keeps talking about how he can’t wait to be in Kindergarten. A

I did just look at the school calendar to make me feel better. So many teacher in service days and other days off. I’m glad I have a year to ponder how this will all play out schedule wise.

Hi!! We had a really good weekend, which always makes Monday’s extra hard. And I’m already feeling bummed that our next weekend is getting cut short since dh flies to pa on Sunday.
I did bbm and now I’m letting ry watch paw patrol until we go to the gym.

mamabear B has had blood drawn a couple time and honestly there isnt anything you can say or do, it sucks and they just have to get it done I dont think anyone did anything wrong.

When C had to get blood drawn, our pedi told us specifically to avoid a couple supposedly pediatric-focused places bc they were not great with kids. Awesome...tell me again why are you in this business ?? So apparently this is not uncommon. (Fortunately the place we ended up at was great.)

J woke up briefly MOTN last night calling for B, she was legit pissed it was me that come in to comfort her.

So it's official, they are equally codependent.

MH is at Urgent Care now to see if he needs stitches. He cut himself Saturday night on the leg. I patched him up but it still looks gnarly.

He's been a huge help with unpacking and projects around the house. Between the two of us we're almost there.

Morning! Today is Evie's first day of school, yay! 3 down, one to go. I will find out for sure what her bus schedule looks like. I got two different arrival dates for her...3:40 or 3:56. It's somewhat critical because I am supposed to be at my son's school at 3:30 for pick up. I can do the round trip in 26 minutes, but not in 10. H works from home, my oldest is home at 3 and I have neighbors that will help out in a pinch, but my H travels and son does after school stuff some days, so I kind of need to be able to do it. 🤞

Solidarity cagoldi. We take advantage of the gym childcare and I put out a request extra hands from family when my H is gone for too long. Also, I stock easy dinners and wine.

It does suck for sure even as an adult. I just wish she would have made conversation with him or something, like you know, ask him his favorite color or tv show. Or explain what she's doing as she does it.

The only thing that kept Dude calm during his blood draw was a lollipop I pulled out strategically as he was whimpering "all done" and then the promise of an IHOP funny face pancake as soon as we finished.

cagoldi, i have gained a lot of weight on these deployments but survival was key. I am sure you will be so busy with everything that Friday will be here before you can freak out. I hope you have an infusion this week for a little personal down time. How are the feeding appts going for X?

X is making a lot of good progress in therapy. He's not where we need him to be but he is doing better each week so it's definitely helping.

Infusion isn't until next week but I'm glad you mentioned it because that reminds me to try to move up the time. I have to see if my nurse can come earlier in the afternoon so we can make it to a teacher meet and greet thing for Atticus' elementary school. GULP.

cagoldi, since you talked to A about being a big helper you might give him actual chores to do if you haven't already. E helps me with feeding the cats (picking up the plates and cans of food), helps scoop litter, takes trash/recycling out, Puts groceries away. He likes to be an extra set of hands. He does earn money for it. It is great to just have an extra set of hands and with 3 it is needed. I know you said he has been great about helping with the littles, hopefully that extends to this week.

omg. The dc just posted a picture of "gently used school uniforms" that they are SELLING up front. People usually just give them to the school to give to those who can't afford to buy them for their kids. Like I've taken them and given them to past teachers to give to their current students. I think it is so dumb they are selling these donations.

"the money will purchase teacher meals, celebrate staff anniversaries and birthdays here at our school"....so none of it is even for the freaking kids!

I will continue to give Cadence's too small uniforms to the teachers or directly to the parents, not the front desk.

Hi hi - completed my first class mom task and brought in a gift for N's teacher. I hope she likes it! $75 Visa gift card and a $50 gift certificate to her favorite restaurant and a bunch of treats she likes.

Oh and I ran into a mom that dropped her son off at k for the first time today (his sis is still at our school) and she was like we held it together until he went in and then we were bawling. Thank God we have another year, I'd be a disaster.

klong11 ugh that's tacky. How much are they selling them for? It's one thing to resell things yourself (which I plan to do for some stuff), but for a majority I want to give to people that NEED them.

mamabear shots/blood draw suck at any age. I believe in bribery.

I will say that I've noticed that the specialty hospitals don't necessarily have the best personalities but tend to have better skilled nurses/techs because they pay better. I just wish the looked for ones that actually like kids or the elderly.

tallb , $8 & $10, so fairly cheap, since they have the school logos, and just that is a $5 fee per item on frenchtoast.com. Most of Cadence's uniforms don't even have that logo. We just stick with the appropriate colors now and we have a few handmedowns from classmates with the actual logo.

However, old navy has all of their uniforms on sale today for 60% off. So, I sent mh the link to the red polo dress Cadence "NEEDS" and it's only 6.50.

I just got a call back from the park we want to have lo's party at. The pavilion I wanted is all booked up through January. But one right by the restrooms was available on a Sunday instead of a Saturday so I booked it. We are locked in now.

LO wants his grandparents there and my mom is saying she doesn't think they will go since they will be out for Christmas and New Years and want to spend thanksgiving with my sisters. I'm hoping she changes her mind since I booked early November versus his actual birthday.
