If you think the tile would be too busy as a backsplash, wouldn't it be too busy on the floors as well? I like the colors you posted and I think I would keep the same flooring. Which option are you leaning toward the most? I think it's less busy on the floor because it's not directly at eye level kwim? I think we're leaning towards all the same floor, but I'm worried about all the wet stuff in combination with a wooden floor I guess.

Any of you girls have wooden floors in your kitchen? We do. It's been no issue at all and I love the seamless look.

Just keep in mind that if you do replace it, the colour will be off and it's hard to 'fan' it into the existing wood.

We're probably getting solid pine wood boards, I love the look below but that going to take a few years.

Thanks for all the input girls, I'll be sure to make a before and after thread on the private board once we really start building.

Any of you girls have wooden floors in your kitchen? We do! But I'm not a good source for advice because I want to redo our flooring in our entire house.

But I want it throughout our first floor. I need something that can handle my dogs nails plus water from when we do have issues with either rain or fridge breaking down.

Looks like wood, but has the durability of tile.

With the risk of sounding like an anxious nut, but I'm always worried about how hard the kids fall on tiles.

We have hardwood in our kitchen. No issues even with a dog, 2 cats and the kids.

Love the tile, but I agree that one big space should have a flow.
