After mentioning that I needed to sleep train E again, last night she woke at 10 pm. I went in and made sure she was physically fine, cuddled her and calmed her down but I held fast and didn't feed her. Plopped her back in her crib (much to her dismay) and went back into my room. I turned the baby monitor off, shut my door so I couldnt hear her D: and set an alarm for 2 am so I could turn the monitor back on.
At 2 she was still asleep and in fact, I didnt hear from her until 6 am. I have no idea what time she fell asleep but I was pleased to get a great chunk of sleep last night. Maybe this will be a new normal...

Oh yay cythe! She was able to fall asleep and stay asleep on her own and I think that sounds promising for future nights!

I have been trying to adjust to this new commute and I am just so tired once 8pm comes around. Last night I slept 8:45-7:30 and I feel so much better.
No plans for today. I think H wants to finish the attic clean up and I may go to BR outlet for some pants.

Both boys were good at the Jamboree last night. They both went to bed over an hour late, but LO was up to eat at 5:40 and DS1 was up at 6. I usually feed LO around that time and he goes back to sleep, but not today. OF COURSE. 😳😴😭
DH is at football practice and MIL is picking up DS1 soon to go to a family brunch because DH's cousin is in town visiting. The house will be quiet while LO naps so maybe I can get a few things done.

Current AQI is 204 😳 So we are stuck inside, again. Going to take the kids swimming later (indoors) as everyone is getting stir crazy after so many days trapped indoors!

DS has a new favourite thing to hold while nursing, it’s the Motrin syringe 🤣 He clutches that thing so tight and then I have to pry it away. Kid couldn’t care any less about his special expensive bunny stuffed animal but a medicine dispenser is the coolest? Kids are weird

Kids are weird DD2 loves this giant bathtub paintbrush thing DD1 got for Xmas last year. Just crawls around with it and randomly hangs on stuff. 🤷♀️Kids are certainly weird.

We’re visiting H’s family today so H can help his dad with some farm stuff. I have so much to do at school but I don’t trust MIL to adequately watch the girls so I’m going too. And yes, I could keep them here with me but then I still won’t be getting work done. This way DD1 can play with her cousins too as she adores them. I already told H he has the girls all day tomorrow so I can get things done.

Guys, i only got up twice with him last night! He did also wake up as i was going to bed, but still. I feel extremely refreshed. Which is a little sad. I also didn't have to get up with DS1 because DH took pity on me/is hoping to get lucky tonight.

We went down to the lake, went to the playground and watched some boats in the marina as per DD2’s request. It’s finally nice enough that we don’t have to be in the A/C by 11 am. Taitai I finished CRA and enjoyed the book but was disappointed by the ending.

cythe that’s great! I am too chicken to turn the monitor off. It drives DH bananas. We took both kids to swimming today and they did great. DH is crabby as hell though. What his excuse is I don’t know. I was up with the baby 3 times last night.

FIL to my 2 year old nephew: go get [DD2] the dolly in the toy box. She doesn’t want to play with your boy tractors.
😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑
My eyes will only roll so far today before they’re sure to get stuck.

Instead of pants I bought 2 dining chairs at world market. I need 2 more but wanted to make sure they looked ok first. Also $20 of cupcakes and cookies.

This may well become a thread of “douchy things danvers FIL says today” thread:
FIL: well at least [DD1] finally gets to play with some kids outside today.
WTF?! Like, this kid is in daycare 5 days a week, does soccer, swimming, cheerleading camp, and has regular park visits and play dates.
Like yes, we do not allow our 3.5 year old to run around outside unsupervised like SIL does with her 3 kids but that does not equate to “never being outside”?!?!😡
H did retort with all the things DD1 is involved in. I was a little too hot to do so calmly.

danvers Your ILs - ugh!!! Glad your H stood up for you guys - you are responsible, great parents. Don’t let anybody try to say otherwise! Enjoy the time to yourself tomorrow. cythe Yay for sleeping! curmudgeon I love love World Market. I was once offered a job as a buyer for them, which sounds amazing...except that it is like 70% international travel. Not possible with kids (for me). August Blooms I was kind of disappointed with the ending of CRA too. Are you going to read China Rich Girlfriend?

Tame weekend over here. LO has a stuffy nose and has been waking up several times a night due to the congestion. Nose frida is back in action. DS1 has also been very emotional and crabby this weekend. Not sure what is up - I hope he’s not getting sick.
We had our new neighbors over again last night, and we had a great time! I like them a lot and hope we become good friends over the next few years. Their daughter plays so well with DS1.

Taitai oh wow! That sounds like a fun opportunity. I always love their items. I was drooling over their rugs and this ottoman yesterday. I’m trying my hardest to think of a place for it.

danvers sorry you are dealing with douche canoe FIL. I'm sort of lucky that my ILs are 1. Divorced and hate each other so we never have to deal with them both at the same time. And 2. Very uninvolved lol. Which, is good because they're...both....odd in their own way I guess.

We ended up with fantastic weather yesterday for an outdoor event. It was supposed to storm on and off but we ended up avoiding it completely.
Dunno what it's going to do today. It's overcast this morning and it must have rained over night but hopefully it clears up in a bit. I have a few errands to run and don't feel like it in the rain.

I really like that ottoman. I can’t really tell how wide it is - would you be able to put it at the foot of a bed? I feel if it would look nice good with a bedroom decorated in light colors. Just a thought - I’m no interior designer.

Taitai the bedroom was my first thought but it’s pretty wide. Like coffee table size. And my bedroom is small and full of other junk for the time being so I’ll just admire online.

About to head to a back to school swim party for DS1’s class. The invite was a small slip of paper and didn’t say to rsvp so I didn’t. 🤷🏻♀️ Now I feel awkward showing up.

Spent most of the day working while H watched the kids -! Boeing but necessary to try and catch up on everything.
DD2 stuffed herself silly tonight at dinner. If we laid it in her tray, she ate it! We have done a lot of meat yet because I’m unsure how to proceed. DD1 still isn’t really eating meat at 3.5 unless it’s highly processed soft type stuff, so I don’t really know how to proceed (with either kid lol). I do think we’re done with purrees though. We haven’t given her one at home in weeks and daycare is struggling so I’m going to talk to them tomorrow how about how we can send in food for her. It’s more work but it’s for the best probably.

danvers My baby has no teeth so basically we give her everything except a really tough cut of steak. She loves pork, chicken and will eat ground beef sometimes. I slice it into thin sticks so it’s easy for her to pick up and not choke. I have a couple of packaged purees for emergencies but I thing we are done with them too.

We didn’t really do much of anything today, got a few errands done around the house. The baby has been breastfeeding less and eating more, I can’t believe how much she is eating these days. She’s growing up too fast.

Taitai I’ll probably read it, although sequels aren’t usually as good. I’ll have to check my library. I was in a reading rut but I flew through CRA and just finished When Life Gives you Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger. Same author as the Devil Wears Prada.

I wish my baby would eat real food. Purees only here, and we struggled to finish one jar or pouch/day. 🤷♀️ 7 teeth and more on the way probably, since he's chewing on everything in sight.
He also refused his afternoon nap so it's been a really fun evening. 😐

danvers E has .5 teeth and we do all sorts of meat. Basically if it's a tough cut of meat (steak, pork chop, ect) I just rip it into small chunks knowing shes going to swallow it whole. Her favorite is rotisserie chicken which I just buy right from the grocery store because 1) its damn tasty 2) convenient and 3) really soft and not tough like me making chicken breasts at home is. I give her bigger chunks of chicken and she just shovels it in
