tgrimes wedding is correct. Prednisone is a miracle cure for croup but some doctors hold out. There is one doctor in our pediatrician practice that never wanted to give it to me and it always ended with the ER for DD. She had RAD as a toddler but seems to have outgrown it thankfully. T had it once and was fine with no treatment, my older 2 had it all the freaking time.

tgrimes No experience with croup but I'd probably set up the humidifier and do a steamy shower, then a little Vick's and hope he could sleep somewhat comfortably then see where you're at in the morning. He’s already in bed but I set up the humidifier and put on Vick’s.

I hope he's better in the morning tgrimes. vino WTF to having a party that long with no bathroom access. Have the kids play for 45 minutes, sing HBD, eat cupcakes, done. Or make sure there's a bathroom. joelies scary. I'm glad he handled it so well!

MH gave up his ratty ass Lazy Boy this move. It was old and nasty. I told him he could get a new one. A furniture store downtown was having a closeout sale. We ended up getting a set we really like at about 45% off what we would have paid.

Just got home from a long, but fun day in the city. Showered and now I'm watching my shows and it's lovely. We had a blast with jewels and fam! It was honestly like we've known each other forever. The kids had a blast at the park and there was nothing cuter than her little B running through the water in the splash pad. The look on his face was pure delight 😁 I will request a pic from H to post if it's ok with her.

I got to do the entire bedtime routine tonight. Mh lasted all of 5 minutes before the girl was crying and he was blaming her. Apparently there was spitting involved and pushing. She did the spitting, he pushed her. I was not happy. He started to say something about her needing to learn....but I cut him off and said no, she needs to know that physical violence is not an answer, we keep our hands to ourself. Next time, you get up and walk away, you don't put your hands on her. I kicked him out of the room and did bedtime. He laid out on the couch to watch a movie. I think he did it on purpose so he wouldn't have to do bedtime.

I’m about to fly to TX to push him klong11! Wtf! I think your C is similar to mine in that she is looking for a reaction. I’ve found it’s best if I walk away calmly and totally ignore him until he apologizes and we can move on calmly. The second I respond in any way to him (even with calm words), games over and he’s off the rails. If I totally ignore him he eventually calms himself and comes around. Since starting this a few months ago he rarely has an outburst and if he does it’s very short.

klong11 I'm sorry, that must have been hard to be in the middle of. Sounds like your H was well beyond his threshold for patience. There's a lot to be gained by just walking away at that point.

I think we were all at the tipping point last night. They had gone to visit his Dad in the afternoon, but got a flat tire, so it took him over an hour to get it fixed and to his Dad's, he isn't allowed to drink at the house any more unless he has friends over (yes, I'm saying allowed because I'm over it basically) and everything was running late, dinner, bath, bedtime, etc. I'm not giving him excuses for doing it, I'm pissed because we've had numerous conversations about how she is only 4 and he is the adult, he needs to know when to put his hands up, walk away and give everyone a breather. It's a work in progress, but if it takes much longer Cadence and I may need to jump ship afterall.

tallb Drop off parties are beginning to be the norm around 5, I struggled with it because B is generally the younger of his peers, but they seem to do ok. I asked for clarification on what he told the adults, and he said that he had to go to the 'washroom' and they said to go and they'll watch for him. Still not ok, and they should have clarified. I'm glad I put it here because my mind went to defense and it was clouded that B did a wonderful job handling the situation, so thank you ladies. We had a good talk last night, and he told me he wasnt scared and realized he just had to 'poop and focus on not getting it everywhere'. Big kid thinking for sure.

J gets the cough for a couple nights every 3-4 months and moisture totally helps her, I've never taken her in. I hope he is feeling better today, poor guy.

Understable to have those feelings on your part, klong11. He's had many chances and you've been very patient with allowing him time to make progress on that front. I have no doubts you'll know if/when things get to be way too much and you will make whatever decision is necessary at that time. I'm sorry that this continues to be such a struggle. Hugs.

We ran into a lot of traffic. Looks like we’ll be running through the airport. This trip has been amazing. Know what else is amazing? They want to do a 90th party for MH’s grandma in January. So I get to do this all over again in a few months. Awesome. Um no, that'd be a terrible idea. It'd be a hard no from me, for sure.

I wouldn't want to go/do it again but I would feel guilty not going to a major event and would still end of going tgrimes. Maybe have a grocery delivery waiting for you at your hotel next time. And my grocery I mean wine.
