What’s everyone eating? I went from wanting to throw up and eat nothing to being hungry all the time. Does anyone watch the Office? When Pam is pregnant she and Kevin eat second lunch and first dinner together and that’s so me lol I just ate some chicken soup but my coworker ordered five guys so here comes second lunch. A milkshake and grilled cheese!

Everything mentioned thus far sounds delicious to my mouth! But my tummy does not cooperate so I know better than to give in. Earlier I only wanted things like green vegetables, lentils, other veggies, occasional fruit, plenty of protein of all kinds. Only while grains like always. Now all I want is cheese in all its forms (can't do...I have gestational lactose intolerance or something), white carbs, sugary fruit, red meat, fried foods of any kind (cant do either). And chocolate which gives me headaches. Dinner last night was white baguette with olive oil, vinegar, and garlic, life cereal with soy milk, a fudgsicle, and club soda with mango juice. More cereal for breakfast. Now it's lunch time and I'm debating between more bread, more cereal, or picking up fries. Can't force chicken or eggs down my throat. Unless it was a nice quiche, that I could go for. Haven't gained weight yet, really afraid to be unhealthy now, can't seem to do anything about it. Vegetables repulse me at the moment unless they're deliciously braised and carmelized and just amazing but no one here but me cooks so it's not happening.

Burgers. All the burgers. I've really been wanting McDonald's cheeseburgers and I don't even like them in normal life. Fries. Always down for a good sandwich. V8
I'm really down to eat anything, really, but baby is less ok with that plan. Ate left over enchiladas and a relleno and nope. Immediately nauseous. I'm surprised it hasn't come back up yet. I have leftover gyro pizza for lunch but I worry I won't be able to stomach it now.

As of last week, I gained 8 pounds in the 8 weeks since my BFP. The past few days have been terrible for diet (lots of celebrating and meals out) and I've been scared to weigh myself. I'm hungry all the time, but I have no energy and I'm not making the best choices. I just talked to H about trying to eat a little healthier. Hopefully we can make it happen. After I finish off the gender reveal cake, of course.

All attempts to eat fruits and vegetables (aside from applesauce and mashed potatoes) have been unsuccessful. I've been eating lots of cereal, protein shakes and smoothies, yogurt, pizza, cheese toast, and crackers. Also some cookies and poptarts, but my sweet tooth is a little calmer this time around. That said, I'll never turn down ice cream. sunshiney My pregnancy-induced lactose intolerance has gotten better...maybe there's hope? I can manage ice cream without lactaid, but I haven't tried straight milk yet.

CharlieB notagoddess thanks! I am a huge fan of parmesan so been putting that on everything. I thought Greek yogurt would work but no good. Hope it gets better soon!!

CharlieB yes to applesauce and mashed potatoes! DH came home from the grocery store with potatoes that aren't in individual wrappers for the microwave and I was just thinking, what am I supposed to do with these?

This pregnancy has been weird.
Vegetables have been really tough. They either completely gross me out so I won’t even put them in my mouth (bell peppers, raw tomatoes), or I try to eat them and they taste weird (broccoli, carrots). Other things that I usually like taste off to me at random (like peanut butter, hummus, salmon, and eggs).
Only in the past week or so have I been able to eat a little healthier. I’m trying hard because I really want to keep my weight gain in check this time. So far at 16+ weeks I have not netted any gain (i.e., I lost a few in first tri then gained those back).
Things that I have been eating a lot throughout the past 3 months (not the healthiest): Mac and cheese (baby’s favorite!) Swiss Miss pudding Ice cream Hot dogs Greek salads Wendy’s chili French fries Sun Chips Trader Joe’s mini chicken tacos with salsa (I guess this one isn’t so bad)
Stuff that’s working well right now: Zoodles with lean ground turkey meat sauce Eggs scrambled with spinach and reduced fat cheese with whole wheat toast and fruit (peaches are so good right now!) Lean crockpot pulled pork with fresh corn “Taco” salad with ground turkey, black beans, salsa, and Greek yogurt
Snacks: Greek yogurt with berries Olives, cheddar cheese stick, and rice nuggets Grapes and cheddar cheese stick Kind bars

I want all the things. Mostly carbs and not the healthiest of things. Salads might be my only healthy craving. I’m also just eating non stop and if I don’t I feel sick. I’m going to be a million pounds. It’s crazy how much bigger I am by the end of the day 😬.

I have eggs almost every morning because my nausea ramps up like clockwork if I have no protein. I have been craving salad weirdly as I don't eat much of it normally. We have been traveling, so a lot of the meals are outside my control; I am just eating whatever.
Thanks to this thread I will be making mashed potatoes tomorrow... Already took out beef brisket to go with it.
I have been proud of myself thinking I was managing my appearance well and not showing much, but today at the grocery, as I was scolding my errant boys, a stranger told me I would have my hands full with three and asked if I knew what I was having. Oy.
(...still better than my last pregnancy when a store clerk tried to be empathetic and told me I looked like I would be in the hospital to have the baby any day now... and I was only 16 weeks.)

There hasn’t been much to me that has sounded consistently good. I’ll crave it for a few days & then be repulsed by it a few days later.
Strangely, I haven’t really wanted many sweets which is totally different than when I was pregnant with my son!
What typically sounds good is: - Breakfast sandwiches, specifically the Starbucks Bacon & Gouda - Nectarines, Peaches, Plums, Watermelon and Grapes - Buffalo Wings - Fresh bagels with cream cheese - Tacos - Scrambled eggs with cheese - Steak
I can luckily get veggies down without gagging but I definitely don’t crave them!

I made this Mango Black Bean Quinoa Salad and it was really good. I have lots of leftovers for lunches too. I'm definitely feeling less nauseous and I think cooking will be more of a priority going forward.

hrh, Omg, I got the same reaction with DS2! By the time November hit, coworkers were placing bets on which holiday he would arrive on. Like, no one thought I'd be pregnant after Christmas and his due date wasn't until Jan 11th.

I’m still having some food aversions and the only thing I really crave are green olives 🤷🏼♀️ I usually love dairy in all forms too but when I eat cereal with milk or a bagel with cream cheese I tend to feel sick after so I’m thinking I may be a little lactose intolerant this pregnancy. Sigh. Hoping it’ll fade soon because I love milk and cheese!
Some things I’ve been eating frequently: -Spinach salads with Parmesan cheese, bacon bits, and oil/fresh lemon juice as the dressing -Potato chips -Bagels with butter and jam or cream cheese depending on my mood -Toast with American cheese and (warmed) salami -Pasta -Fresh veggies that I bake or Sauté usually with steak or grilled chicken- the veggies seem to be my favorite, the meat.. not so much -Scrambled eggs
Also had a sub the other day from Harris Teeter that was amazing! I asked the woman making it to heat the salami and pepperoni separately and it was seriously so good. If the closes HT wasn’t 30-40 min away I have a feeling I’d be going a lot more often.

Is anyone being food policed yet? I have a coworker who has a heart of gold but is perpetually trying to be funny, and he keeps making "playful" comments about my snacks and whether they're healthy enough. When I came back from lunch today, he asked if I was eating healthy. My response was, "No, I'm eating whatever sounds tolerable and doesn't make me vomit." It's going to be a long 6 months.

CharlieB, Not yet this time. When I was 8 months pregnant with DS1, I had some rando at Costco grab my arm and scold me for eating a sample because it had peach habanero preserves on it and spicy stuff "wasn't good for me." I was so confused by what was happening, I just told her spicy stuff had been the only thing I could keep down so it must not be too bad. And then I just walked away.

CharlieB thelittleredm oh my goodness I'm so horrified on your behalf. My mom keeps telling me not to eat seafood because she got sick after eating shrimp when pregnant. She thinks pregnant women should not eat any seafood. I literally handed her the ACOG printout on seafood that the OB gave us.

I’ve been feeling so good but today I’ve felt twinges of the morning sickness again. 😡 not terrible but there. Maybe I’ll take my B6 and unisom again for a few days just in case.

Can we all agree that there are no circumstances under which men should have opinions or advice on pregnancy?!
Lone exception: a male OB can give me pregnancy advice. That's the only exception.
Female randos with shitty advice also are annoying and can GTFO. But it's so much worse coming from a man.
