Hi all, I wanted to start some new threads, one good one that I remember from my first BMB was a question thread. So I'll start!
I had a c-section last time, and since then for the last almost 4 years have been wearing serious briefs for underwear that go over the flap. Sexy.
Last time I didn't get maternity underwear, but these briefs are already feeling tight at the end of the day due to blump. Have any previous c-section moms tried maternity underwear and liked it? Fwiw, last time I preferred maternity pants with a full panel.
I guess I like to cover dat belleh.

I don’t think I knew maternity undies existed. Hmm... sorry, I’m no help there!

@eams the soft, thick waistband cotton maternity undies are a gift from god. I found my stomach area was way more sensitive with pregnancy 2 (poor stretched skin) and this go it seems even worse. I don’t like any kind of pressure there. The undies are a bit pricy but so, so worth it, and you might as well get them now and enjoy them!
ETA this will be my 3rd csection so yeah I know the shelf-life well... 😪

This is good info to have. My current underwear sits under the shelf and with DD's pregnancy I never got any maternity underwear.
One of my questions for the doctor tomorrow was going to be is how will that area handle stretching. I've occasionally get some sharp pains but I'm not sure if they are my uterus or poop related

Also for previous csection moms look into “scar release” therapy with an RMT if you have any troubles in that area, including groin or lower back pain. It’s all connected. I had my scar released (adhesions can form to the muscles while things are healing) last September and it was life changing. I had no idea it was the source of most of my lower back pain and never would have connected it, but it was one of those things where because one set of muscles couldn’t do it’s job another set was over compensating etc. I also did pelvic floor physio which was equally but differently important. Can’t recommend both enough!

These look cute! I might have to go get some. My underwear are kind of digging in a bit and that will only get worse. I didn’t wear maternity underwear for DD so this is new. My blump is pretty impressive already though

Tlex does pelvic floor therapy help with diastasis recti? Or is that a separate issue?

Tlex does pelvic floor therapy help with diastasis recti? Or is that a separate issue? It’s the golden ticket for that problem, and a few others! I didn’t have bad DR, I was having pain from intercourse and pain/feelings of a full bladder, as well as lower back pain. All 3 of my issues were caused my weak pelvic floor muscles.

I'm taking mine vaginally until 36 weeks. My doc who prescribed it said it was becasue my first was a preemie. The actual OB might have a different opinion when I see her. (So far I've had one appt st the ob office, but with a nurse practitioner.) I am hesitant to come off it and will tell the ob I'd feel better on it, unless she makes a strong case against it.

My RE had me stop at 9 weeks, and told me I didn't need to wean, that I can just stop. I was thrilled. My first pregnancy, they had me go to 12 weeks and wean, but my numbers for progesterone were lower then. Both times were suppositories though.

I’m hopefully going to get instructions to wean tomorrow. My numbers have been a little low, so it will probably be a longer process. I’m doing the PIO shots and can’t wait to be done.

My OB told me I could stop at 10 weeks, but to just go ahead and finish off my bottle. Of course I had just refilled so I still have about 10 days left. I hate taking it but I'm also paranoid to stop now even though I'm two weeks later than she said, so I'll take the rest. She didn't tell me I had to wean, just stop taking. I'm taking one suppository a day.

This made me realize I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing. When they put me on it the nurse said the doctor would probably have me take it through 10 weeks. At my first appointment the NP was vague and said a lot of studies say it doesn’t really make a difference (not helpful). I realized my next appointment won’t be until after 10 weeks so I will have to call. I’m interested to see what everyone else is doing.

My RE put me on progesterone suppositories starting at 4DPO. She told me to continue twice daily dosing and stop at 10 weeks, which I did. She didn’t have me wean off.

Has anyone tried the unisom / B6 combo? I’m pretty much hoping for a miracle cure.

Progesterone update: the ob told me to take until 12w6d, and that I didn't have to wean off. I wonder why the difference?

Has anyone tried the unisom / B6 combo? I’m pretty much hoping for a miracle cure. Yes, I've been taking it at night and it helped sooooo much. I was throwing up multiple times a day and this calmed it to only every couple days.

My doctor brought up doing NIPT but did not mention NT scan at my first appointment, I will ask at my 12 week. Do most people do both?

I wasn't planning on doing both, but after a long talk with my ultrasound tech friend she convinced me. She explained all the things she's seen that don't show up on NIPT testing (amniotic bands, missing limbs, etc). My insurance covers both, but I still had to bully my OB a little into letting me do the NT Scan.

At my practice because I won't be the arbitrary age of 35 when I have this baby, they generally just like to do the NIPT testing first. Then if anything shows up on there, they'll do the NT Scan. DH and I decided we'd like to have as much information as we can, so we opted to do both.

My last OB only did NIPT, this one does both. I was really glad to see the babies again. It's just another assurance that everything is anatomically on track. ETA I am 37 and I was 35 at the last practice, so AMA both times.
***TW: at the last practice, I had good NIPT results but found out at my 14 week appt the baby had passed at ~10 weeks. It seemed extra heartbreaking because we thought we were in the clear. ***

I’m 31, and my OB’s office hasn’t recommended NIPT. I have an appt on Friday, so they might mention it then. I won’t have an NT scan. They said I wouldn’t have an US until the AS around 20 weeks. Should I be having an NT scan done?
