We took LO to the pedi today - no sign of ear infection, strep, or anything. So we’re probably dealing with roseola. His low grade fever ended tonight - I am reaaaally hoping the high fever stage is gone and I can get some sleep tonight! Kind of hoping for that tell-tale rash to come on already, so I know that’s what he had.
At least he went to sleep tonight with minimal walking around - so that’s a good sign we’re through the worst of it!

First day at the new job today. I’m sitting in the lobby waiting. I am equal parts excited and nervous and scared I made a huge mistake.

Its such a Monday here. I’m so tired, we went to a friends for a swim and BBQ and ended up staying passed the kids bed time. It’s going to be an early bedtime today. On the plus side I just got a call from the allergist and they had an appointment available on Friday for testing.

It’s vacation bible school at our church this week and I’m leading the preschool group. 7 2-3 year olds, five mornings, 9:15-12! Luckily I work with preschoolers in my job so nbd. I was planning on bringing DS, putting him down for morning nap in an empty classroom (with a monitor) and wearing him the rest of the time. Perfect plan except this morning he woke up at 5:30 and didn’t fall asleep again 😳 Now our whole schedule is off. I am currently at my mom’s house picking DD up from her sleepover, feeding DS to put him down for nap and leave him here with her...hopefully this is not a disaster

I could use some happy thoughts over here. Baby has been diagnosed with chronic anemia and is not responding to iron supplements. They took a whole bunch of blood and are doing a work up to try and figure out what's going on. I'm trying to stay away from Dr. google because it's scary. The pediatrician did say he didn't think any of the really serious things like leukemia were likely because her hemoglobin levels are not getting worse. We should get results back wednesday. I'm so worried about her, I don't know how I'll get anything done between now and then.

danvers big big hugs. This is a little different but DS has been perpetually sick since he started preschool last year. He just got over a cough which lasted for almost a month. It’s so hard when they’re so young and put everything in their mouth though. Not having family close by is really hard too with no reliable and trustworthy child care option. Although my parents live with us, they do go back home every few months and we don’t have any family anywhere close - not even drivable so totally get it. It has its challenges - makes it hard for me to get into a FT job due to childcare interruptus. I hate that hubs is shouldering a great deal of the finances at this point. I still try to keep my bills to myself through contract work any chance I can. Enough about myself...I hope baby girl is just building her immunity and will be tough like most of DS friends in school whom narly gets sick since they’ve been to daycare ever since babies.

bootsorhearts1, will be thinking of baby girl. Hang in there and hopefully it’s nothing serious and totally treatable. I can’t remember did you have a DE or DEmby? I guess either will be difficult to get in depth family history, the latter harder. Big hugs.

Was just released from jury selection! I was juror 59 of 60 and by the time we got to juror 30 it was going 2 by 2 for perspective jurors. They finally got everyone selected by 1:00.
LO is fever free today, super clingy/whiney and congested but otherwise fine. She’s headed to daycare, H and I will got back to school, hopefully we get in our groove again.
*let it be known I normally have no qualms about jury service. But my state offers zero protections to nursing mothers and we were kept in the courtroom from 8:30-1:00 with only one 5 minute break today so not super convenient for pumping. Also it was Day 4 of the school year. I have been called pre-kids and happily served.

danvers well that’s a relief. If I were chosen I would have let them know I’d be pumping during proceedings and is that was a problem then they can rethink having me there. I mean honestly!

cythe we require a picture of this tooth! duskymonkey Degg, so actually we know more about her genetic donor than we would if it had been me as they do quite a bit of genetic screening on donors. So genetic issues seem unlikely. Hopefully it’s nothing major. She’s acting ok. I mean, she sleeps like shit but so do half the babies on here so 🤷♀️

bootsorhearts1 Oh no - I hope you get more clarity on Weds. The unknown is so stressful/worrisome, especially when your kids are involved. Please keep us updated. curmudgeon Glad to hear you made it through the first day. You’re drinking from the firehose now, but you’ll get there! Before you know it, this new job will seem like old hat 😀

And I jinxed myself with the recent period chatter because my first post partum period just arrived. I jinxed myself too! I'm shocked. I guess every pregnancy is different so I shouldn't be surprised that postpartum is different too. But I really didn't expect it until I cut out a nursing session or 2.

I didn’t expect it either since DD2 is getting up multiple times a night but this is about the time it happened with DD1.
