The usual.
Mainlining coffee and pretending to work.
Pete said he'll pay for a tummy tuck so now I need to decide if I really want to go through with it.

Hi all. I was in Chicago last week so didn’t check in at all. It was a difficult trip because my grandma was in the hospital almost the whole time and still is. My mom was back and forth from the hospital so i was left trying to entertain my kids with limited toys in someone else’s house. I might try to go back soon without the kids to see my grandma more.
Then on Saturday we flew home direct to Newark only our plane diverted to Baltimore because of a storm. So we were stuck for several hours until we finally got the clearance to head to newark. This added about 8 hours to our overall flight, which majorly sucked with kids.
This week I’m home from work with the kids. It’s already a struggle.

snoopmommymom sorry about your grandma tgrimes that's super annoying and sounds like something my DC would do I read this weekend and had 842 comments but never had time to post. We had a house full of guests for B's birthday and his party Saturday in the storms - it was supposed to be an outdoor party so we had to move it inside. Chaotic but fun. I'm back at work today but sneaking away in a few to meet my work BFF's new baby. I can't wait to snuggle him!

Oh I remember one of the comments I had tallb I think that if the schools are good but not "best" that that is fine. I live in a decent town in the middle of a lot of really nice towns. Our schools are good, but there are many in surrounding towns that are top 10 in the state. Personally, I am fine with the next tier down kind of schools. Knowing the areas that I believe you are looking in, I think you would be fine too. They would still be better schools than most places. Honestly, I think the next tier down schools are a better fit b/c those "perfect" schools aren't as good at dealing with anything that deviates from the norm. I don't know, I think I am babbling, but does it make sense? IT does in my head.

Yikes nam2013! I hope you can get a refund. Would threatening a bad review help? I’m sorry tgrimes. I wouldn’t be pleased with all that either. Nope I’m afraid not, I’m now on the last leg of battling this out, but it is not looking good. But I am for sure going to write a bad review!!!

Poor H. tgrimes I don’t know why DCs don’t think that info needs to be communicated to parents. M2 switched classes last week and he did well, but every day the teacher seemed a little overwhelmed when I dropped him off. I noticed she was by herself and asked questions in a round about to way to find out if she was, in fact, by herself with 10 one year olds all day. On Thursday I finally just flat out asked her and she just kind shrugged and told me without telling me. So I went to the director and asked them if she was there by herself because that ratio is not right. They told me the second teacher would be in soon. Friday and today I dropped off and there is suddenly two teachers. I don’t get why they would try that, but I’m glad the problem is fixed.

That sucks nam2013. If it’s in a contract somewhere, I hope they honor it and refund your money.

That sucks nam2013. If it’s in a contract somewhere, I hope they honor it and refund your money. It is in the contract, but apparently I should have contacted Airbnb earlier in stead of waiting more than a week, because by that time my original check out date had also passed and this made it beyond Airbnb control. Our host had told me she was abroad and I thought she’d might not have been able to respond. So my trust in people is costing me dearly.

What kills me is my neighbor’s daughter is in the same class and she got a letter a couple of weeks ago. So I specifically had been checking his folder to see if he would move up, too.

MH is still in a mood (thankfully he dropped it for the weekend), and it's grey and rainy here. Charlie is napping, and Josie is entertaining herself with PJ masks and some game where she serves food to someone who I think is a gerbil/named gerbil. I'm not sure. Anyway, it's a yucky today. In good news: there seem to be no snags with the closing. It starts in an hour.

Well we successfully hiked about 2 miles (1 mile each way) and lived to tell about it! It was a very gradual incline, so not too tough for the adults and B. I was especially proud of C, though, she was a champ and did not let the uneven terrain slow her down. Dad of Flamingo helped the kids find wild blueberries and blackberries to pick, which they thought was the best thing ever. So now we are stocked up on snacks for tomorrow, the car is gassed up, and I should probably think about packing our stuff.
