Welcome to the IVF check-in for June 16! Check-ins will be every Monday (babyhopes) and Thursday (bonzo). If we've left you off the check-in, or if you'd like to be added or removed, please let us know! This is a check-in for those who are doing IVF or FET. Please don’t hesitate to use this check-in for IVF/FET info and support even if you’re not currently cycling. If you are interested in joining, please fill us in on your cycle. Everyone is welcome. Also, please update us along the way! Asterisks will appear by your name if you do not update us in a check-in. After four consecutive asterisks (2 weeks), you will be removed from the list. Don’t fret if you are removed from the list, check in again and we will add you back. Once you get a strong repeat beta, congrats! We eagerly await your 3TIF Grad Check-In posts! We encourage you to intro on PAIF, and while here in the meantime, please consistently use warning tags in posts and siggies, and be mindful of your status, especially on 3TIF outside this check-in. Oh hi! I forgot to update yesterday. We ended up cancelling because I had 1 follicle big enough to trigger already. Stupid, stupid ovaries. They are nonsensical glands. Anyhow don't take me off the roster because as soon as I ovulate I'm going back on estrogen priming to try again!

Sorry this is so late, work has been keeping me very busy and I have no computer access during the day!
We're still waiting to hear back with the genetic testing results on our one embryo. We should get the results sometime next week. My period started yesterday, and it has been HEAVY! I'm not surprised, but not a fan, lol. My nurse also called to talk about the possibility of doing another stim cycle right away rather than going straight to FET. We don't have to make a decision yet, since either way we're treating this cycle as a wash month. But it's lots to think about!

bonzo, Thanks for the check in! Were you planning on doing another cycle? Do you have any insurance coverage? lemonliz, I am sorry you had one lead that screwed it all up. Hopefully next cycle works better. AFM: I started supps, and tonight I have to do the PIO all alone... I am trying not to freak myself out. Trying not to think about it at all. I will be fine, I will make it through this. I got this. I have a full day of cleaning and packing tomorrow. The house needs a deep clean and I always like to get it super clean before leaving on vacation so when we get home it smells nice and it's just right to flop down on the couch and be lazy. Since we planned on leaving our dogs home while we are gone and it is going to be about 108 at our home I need to go get them a plastic pool so they can cool down if wanting. My sister lives across the street so she will feed them and look after them while we are gone as well. I am soooo ready for Yosemite and for Wednesday's FET.

Dogpaddle29, nope, no insurance coverage! We ended up with some medication coverage, which was nice. But we're totally OOP for the IVF costs.

bonzo, I would say if you want more than one child ideally, then stim again, do a banking cycle (or a few) and then hopefully you will have some embryos to try now and to have for later (FX it all works out easily with the first transfer). If we were not willing to move on to donor eggs and had we understood what DOR meant for us when we started this journey I would have purchase a few rounds of IVF from the start and done just banking cycles. My husband and I decided in the beginning though that genetics wasn't that important to us and we were ok with moving to a donor when my first two IVF cycles were not successful.

bonzo everything crossed for good results on your own. We're also trying to decide whether to cycle again. It turns out our lab for PGS charges a one time fee for 8 embryos and those don't have to be from the same cycle so I guess we'll see what the testing shows. lemonliz fucking ovaries. Shit. What is the game plan for keeping the follicles in line next time? Dogpaddle29 you've got this lady!!

AFM we ended up with 3 blasts on day 6: a 4AB, a 4BB and a 4BB- They have been biopsied and frozen and now the waiting game begins. I'm waiting for AF and then will get on BCP, either for a FET or another fresh cycle.

nikiswims, that's so great about the 3! 3 out of 5 isn't bad! I really hope you get at least 2 normals out of it. Also the plan is that next time I will still estrogen prime but not for as long as I did this time. I was waiting for insurance to kick in and stayed on estradiol way too long. And I'll stay on estradiol the whole time while stimming. bonzo, I lean toward cycling again and just banking them up but that's obviously because that's what I'm doing right now and I'm convinced it's the only plan out of our 8 other plans that might have a chance of working out!

Dogpaddle29, hope the FET goes well on Wednesday! lemonliz, that sucks about starting a new cycle - hopefully that frontrunner cooperates next cycle, and doesn't recruit friends... bonzo, I have been told the same as nikiswims about testing a certain # of embryos. What do you think you will wind up doing? nikiswims, FX for great results from testing!! AFM, DH has to go through another round of bloodwork for building the PGD probe, because of course the hospital lost the records that showed he is heterozygous for Kell. Based on the unofficial report, we still have one antibody we will always have to deal with, but it's thankfully a very mild one, and Once that comes back, we set up an appt to come up with a plan for the cycle that we won, plus detailing out the extra costs that the cycle won't cover (e.g. PGD/PGS, ICSI, possibly a FET - but that may be substituted instead of a fresh transfer) and I THINK the grant comes with med donations, but I honestly have no idea. Either way, we have until June 2018 to use the grant - so we are tentatively planning on a January cycle, so we can make full use of my medical pre-tax benefit from work, after my raise kicks in that will cover the difference, plus the fundraising we already have accomplished. I'm still in shock that it's actually happening, and we won't even need to take out a loan to do it. We still have to decide about if it doesn't work on cycle 1, but we have some time before we hit that road I hope. I THINK our backup plan is donor sperm/IUI, but we haven't talked that one through yet.

lemonliz frick! I'm sorry you had to cancel. Damnit, ovaries, get it together! bonzo I'd recommend banking if possible so you've got a safety net and some options. Dogpaddle29 ugh, I'm so sorry you were on your own for PIO. How did it go? nikiswims yay! I'm so glad 3 made it on day 6!!! Fx for great PGS results. fikafairy I'm sorry about the hospital losing your results. How incredibly frustrating! I'm still so thrilled for you guys!!! It sounds like you have a great plan!! AFM, just plugging away on BCP and gearing up for a new cycle. Im trying to stay off the google re: MDLF protocols because the outcomes seem to be so mixed. 😕

birch113 PIO went good. My case manager told me not to worry about aspirating since that's the hardest part and doing it yourself seemed like it'd be near impossible. So the shot was really no big deal except for a weird position. My sis was home last night luckily so I only had to do it one night on my own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dogpaddle29 I'm glad it went well! You are a rockstar. I don't mind the stomach injections at all, but I really don't know if I could do PIO by myself!

Hi All, hope it is okay I check in here! lemonliz I am sorry to hear about the cancelled cycle...that is the WORST bonzo fingers crossed for the results and good luck with the decision Dogpaddle29 glad your sister was able to help you out and it wasn't so bad! nikiswims, yay for 3 blasts! fikafairy, such great newst hat you didn't need the loan and that things are happening. Good luck! birch113, what is a MDLF cycle? I hope it works for you guys! AFM, today I go for my follow up US to check in on the c-section scar post surgery. The doctor looked last week but he really wanted to see me 7 DPO and I had just ovulated. That's what happens when you schedule an appointment for 7 DPO 2 months out. By the time I realized it wasn't going to work timing wise it was too late so I went to the appointment anyway. What a waste. We did see the scar on the US last week and it looked like there was still some fluid in there but none in the back of the uterus so he seemed unconcerned. I am a little upset about how unconcerned he seemed though. The point of the surgery was to close the scar and prevent any fluid at all. Or so I thought. The thing is he never really believed in me getting the surgery for pregnancy purposes. He thought maybe it would help getting pregnant but we were really doing it because my normal RE wouldn't do a transfer without it. I am so sick of the back and forth and having to be the person in between fighting each doctor's point of view. That was long but, TLDR; I hope today he can definitively tell me and my RE that he feels comfortable with doing a transfer for this next cycle coming up after the appointment today.
