Where is everyone?
I just got a call from daycare asking if they can move DS2 up to the 1yr old class. 😕 He’s too little! They eat lunches at a table!

DS just sat on my lap and we read 5 books, I love it 😍
Took both kids to the optometrist today and both have healthy eyes and good eyesight for their age, yay! DS was actually super cooperative which surprised me, DD was my little rockstar like usual ❤️

I was just told today too they are going to start transitioning DD2 to the next class 😢. I thought the next room was for 12+ months who were walking but I guess they got a new crop of brand new babies and DD2 is bored for long parts of the day when she has to be away from the littles during tummy time and such. I need these LOs to stay little!

danvers same here. He’s not walking but is the only mobile baby. The rest are under 6 months. I hope the kids in his new class don’t trample him. He seems so small still crawling along.

I’m so tired. I have 21 little 9 and 10 year olds. I forget how little fourth graders seem at the beginning of the year. I am also supposed to mentor a new third grade teacher but I’m not sure I’ll be able to because she is becoming a real drain. There’s mentoring and then there’s whatever this is devolving into. Like, I can’t help you much if you are unable to figure out how to open an internet browser.
I’m talking to my principal tomorrow because I want to give her the chance to find someone else who might be better able to have the time needed to support her.

These are H and mine exact concerns. I don’t think this room takes two naps either but DD2 definitely needs two naps still. Since she is under 1 I also still want BM offered even if she mosty refuses. Ugh. It’s hard.

I’m here kinda! Life is busy. Neither kid is sleeping great lately so I’m pretty tired.
Next week DS starts pre-k I’m so nervous for him! We also have to somehow get him dressed and fed and at school by 8 every morning which is going to be a challenge. He’s used to lazing around in the morning. It also means I have to be ready to take him and make his lunch every day. Between that and feeding the baby at 5 and going to hot yoga, I will be exhausted by the time I get to work!
Both kids have swimming twice a week and DS has skating twice a week.
We’re going to canada in a few weeks for a week of vacation which, with two kids is not so relaxing. Still, there will be other adults and the kids’ cousins who are older to help look after them.
So yeah. Busy!

I'm late but here. H and I had a big day tearing out the flooring in our 3 seasons room. The plywood was rotting and the old carpet was nasty so overall I'm excited to get going on this project. New boards were delivered today and hopefully we can get demo done tomorrow and start laying some boards. Baby question - how long after recovering from HFM should I give her before working on her sleep again? Shes waking at ~12/12:30 every night while and since being sick and that's actually killing me. I firmly believe shes capable of sleeping more than 4 hours at a time 😴😴😴😴

@bootsorhearts Have you heard of visual timers? We have an app called “countdown” that DS1 responds really well to. It starts out green and then gradually turns red as the timer runs out - revealing a fun picture. You can set it for however long you like. It really motivates DS1 to stay on track in the mornings!

curmudgeon, They moved DD2 up to the next class already, too. It used to be for 1 yo+ but they changed it to more mobile babies. But she is the only one that isn't walking in there and it makes me a little nervous. She got bit yesterday, too

See, they seem too little still to be dealing with that and fighting off biters. Ours has 2 classes- young 1s and older 1s. I hope that helps a little with keeping up and not being overrun by the others.
