I’m feeling dumb but I don’t know where else to talk about this, so here I am. TW, TMI everywhere.
I am at a loss. I had what I thought was my period while on family vacation. It came six days early, which, whatever, no big deal. I was cramping, which usually doesn’t happen for me anymore (it did years ago). It was spotting at first with some mucus, which is also abnormal for me. But, on vacation, and so I didn’t pay much attention. The next morning, I got out of bed and there was blood running down my leg, dripping all over. Lots of small black clots. Much heavier period than I’ve had in a very long time. Filling a pad every few hours for almost 48 hours.
We weren’t TTC; we have 2 kids and are done. H and I use condoms, so one of them could’ve broken and we didn’t realize it. I don’t know. Ultimately, there’s nothing to be done. I just am feeling very unsettled because I don’t know what is happening with my body. I never took a test because I didn’t have a reason to suspect I was pregnant.
Sorry, this is all just a rambling mess and there’s no point to it. Thanks for reading if you got this far. I feel like I’m over reacting to a heavy period but I can’t shake the feeling it’s more.

Aw, I'm sorry you are feeling stressed and upset. Maybe schedule a gyno appointment if the unusual bleeding continues?

I'm sorry you're stressed and anxious.
Keep notes on the next few cycles and if it continues, you might bring it up with your gyno since more permanent cycle changes can indicate an underlying hormonal change.
I also don't think you're overreacting. Our bodies doing unexpected things can be incredibly unsettling. If it were me, I wouldn't assume miscarriage due to the condom use, but I can also safely say that if I had never had a period like that before, the idea would probably be in the back corner of my mind, even as I dismissed it, you know?

That's exactly it - it is sitting in the back corner refusing to be dismissed. I'll definitely keep notes on it in the app on my phone. Writing it out helped me to release some of the stress. Thank you for reading and responding
