Okay, I know there was a thread about when you were going to announce but I need to know how haha.
My boss already knows and has for a while. I just don't know how to tell my coworkers. I feel super awkward just being like oh hey- I'm knocked up- and yes I'm socially awkward sometimes so that's probably how it would come out! I've only worked in this particular department for 2 months so I don't know anyone that well... I'm not really hiding my bump but I'm not flaunting it either. I keep hoping that someone draws the short straw and has to ask 😂
So how did you do it?

I tried to find some sort of segue in a conversation. We have a meeting every Tuesday with all the staff. We were doing a fitness challenge at the time and my one coworker jokingly said he was having trouble keeping up to the others on their lunch time walk, so I told him I could walk with him because I'm going to start getting slow

I told my co-worker early because I was so sick. I told my boss after 12 weeks and then our board of directors around 14 weeks or so. Someone was telling other people too after I told the board. We have some pretty gossipy volunteers here. I was upfront and honest with the interns that I supervise. Someone else told my clients last night. Not sure who yet, but at least I don't have to be the one to do so now. I felt awkward telling them because it does not directly effect my work, other than not being here for a couple months this fall. However, I'm 20 weeks on Sunday and I am most definitely showing. One of my clients congratulated me last night and commented on how big I was already ... thaaaaaanks. She's not known for her social tact. Basically, someone else let the cat out of the bag.

I had a few people I told in person (my boss, coworker I'm close with), but a lot of people found out when I announced on fb. The rest are finding out slowly but surely by word of mouth.

I told my admin team at work around 10 weeks. I'm required to be available for volatile kids that may need to be restrained so I knew I couldn't do that anymore so I told them.
I had let a few others know here and there. I emailed the rest of the staff last week. Just a "wanted to share some exciting news" type email.
I haven't put it in fb yet. I tend to wait until after my u/s.

I didn't lol. I've mentioned it to a few other teachers and made a comment about "number two" to another teacher on Tuesday while turning in exams in front of three of my VP's. But otherwise I haven't bothered.
I also work in an unusual situation. I teach at one building in the fall then a different one in the spring. I haven't told anyone in my fall building yet because I won't see them again until the end August and frankly I don't think my principal will be happy about it. And I'll be back from maternity leave before I start at my spring location, so it doesn't affect my job there whatsoever. Also, basically no one knows who I am here, so I'm very no1curr right now.

At my last school when I was pregnant with DD, I had to spill the beans early because my dating ultrasound conflicted with state testing so I had to get permission to be out, so I just told my principal then why I needed the time off. Then I ended up being high risk early on and missed a lot of school for appointments, so people sniffed me out quick. I also loved all my coworkers there so it was easy to tell them why I was out a bunch.

I told my boss super early because I was worried about maternity leave timing conflicting with the end of my project. I told my office mate the day after I had an ultrasound because she asked how my appointment was (I didn't tell her what kind of appointment in advance, just that I would be out). The rest of my team I was going to tell at our weekly meeting, but it kept getting cancelled or I would miss it due to my son being sick, so eventually I couldn't hide that I was showing for another week, and when my boss emailed to cancel and ask if anyone had anything to discuss I just replyed-all saying "nothing to discuss but I have news! I'm pregnant!" Made it super easy.

I told my co workers individually as it came up in conversation. For example I was doing a lot of fitbit challenges with one coworker and she kept kicking my ass several weeks in a row (she walks a ridiculous amount lol) so I said to her that I was telling my husband I had to get in gear or she was going to catch on to the fact that I was pregnant. Surprisingly I think you can find a segue in many conversations.

I had to tell my charge nurse as soon as I returned off of mat leave since I cannot have certain patients while pregnant. I told my manager about 2 days after my return. Very casually I told her I'd only be back for 6 ish months and then I was going on mat leave again. She just laughed at me.

I told my boss at 14 weeks, and announced to the rest of my team during a staff meeting 2 weeks later. Figured it was easier than telling people one on one.

With my 1st, I worked directly with only a few people and spent most of my time traveling, so I told people as I saw them and made sure to tell everyone around 20weeks.
With my 2nd, I announced at our daily stand up. That way everyone heard at the same time.
With my 3rd, I told WAY early because we had a measles scare on our floor. After our boss told myself and the other nursing mom, I had to pull him aside and tell him I was also pregnant. Everyone ended up finding out because I worked from home for that week and until they cleared the unknown person.
This time I didn't have too many people to tell, just those on my team and people in my shopping group since my clothes were telling on me and figured they would find out sooner than later.

I told one coworker and my boss personally around 8wks...I think. I've just been letting everyone else find out through word of mouth or make assumptions based on my clothing choices.

I haven't told anyone. I am showing. I feel like I get stares. I don't plan to tell anyone at work right now. I have no boss or manager above that right now.
I am always interested in how people act if they don't know but suspect something.
I have only had one person ask. She was taking my ticket.

I told my coworkers fairly early on because I was so sick that I needed them to know why I had to sometimes abruptly leave and take a break. I want to say around 8 weeks? After my first appt for sure. I just... Told them. Lol.

I'm in a weird situation. I transferred to my current job at about 10 weeks. I told my 2 bosses at 15/16 weeks. I definitely don't feel like I can just announce to the rest of the staff since I'm not really close. I figure I'll just let them speculate about my weight gain until someone is brave enough to ask or I go on maternity leave. Lol. Although, after my accident, I was the "pregnant woman who had to be cut out of her car" in several news reports, so they could easily put it together if they wanted. Haha.

I awkwardly segued it into a conversation with a coworker today!! Too bad she's not a gossip so I'll probably have to tell everyone else eventually too...
Thanks for all the tips ladies!
