I'm starting a new thread because that's what you do right? Thread counts and board activity and what not.
Two packages were just delivered addressed to mh, his name and correct address but a wrong California phone number on the address label. We now own $400 worth of gas powered remote control race car parts? Obviously his info got stolen. The thieves placed the order two days ago. We would have noticed eventually because we do always look at our statement charges but it's an unpleasant reminder that we should probably be checking more often. I'm extra creeped out that they had our address and the packages were delivered here.
So give your statements an extra look today!

Woah... creepy Lakes. If they were dumb enough to ship to you, were they also dumb enough to use their email address? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow I can't believe they had them shipped to you! Dumb dumbs.
A few months ago someone charged $1200 at a Sunglasses Hut and another $1000 at Neiman Marcus. I just happened to check my account online the day that they showed up as pending. Such a pain!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk There's no packing slip, just the mailing sticker on the box. I'm not sure if the company would be able to give us that info if we asked. Maybe if the credit card company fraud people asked, its in their hands now. Obviously they're covering the charges. The total is now $600. They also ordered a complete gas powered RC car! Fingers crossed they messed up the address on that as well and it shows up later. That'd be some good karma.

Unfortunately RC cars and their parts randomly showing up at my house are not out of the ordinary in the Pibble house. Pibbledad loves all things with wheels 🙄

carrots it is such a pain and unnerving. It happened to me before we were married, $800 at Macy's. We're going to freeze our credit now as an extra layer of protection so no new accounts can be opened in our names. It might be extra but it makes me feel better. Oh the joys of being an adult!

Lakes we keep ours frozen too. It's good for my peace of mind to know that there aren't random accounts being opened in my name!

Ugh! So frustrating!
Card protection is better than it used to be, but still good to check statements. I know people that were paying subscriptions they thought were cancelled, sometimes for over a year!

My mom was trying to buy me patio chairs when she was here visiting and her bank blocked it. But I wouldn't want someone buying $400 of patio furniture in another state!

I know people that were paying subscriptions they thought were cancelled, sometimes for over a year! I am one of those people. Amazon randomly started charging my account for 3 different subscriptions when I activated my firestick. I didn't notice til several months later, because we do order from Amazon often, but hadn't for a month or so and still had those charges. Then I noticed they were every month, 3 different charges on different days, but the same day each month (one on 1st, 4th, 7th or so). I called them up and they could "only refund the last 3 months, but could offer me credit for the months before that". It made me furious, but we do order quite a bit so I took the credit for the first 2ish months.
