Good luck peggyhill ! I was with my SO 13 years when we finally started TTC. I hope you're out of here quickly. I remember how desperately I wanted my first and every month felt like a year when we started TTC. I was 34 though so I could feel the clock ticking:)

sammysam, thank you so much! I hope my stay is short as well! My personal clock isn’t ticking so much considering my own age, but my husband is 11 years older than me so his age is part of what has me hoping for something soon! I know 39 isn’t old, but most of the people he knows had kids 10-20 years ago. I think now is the best time for us! I hope you have had good lunch as well! 😊

peggyhill my SO is 12 years older than me so I totally get the age thing. He was 46 when DD was born and is in his 50s now. He looks like a young 40 and acts like he's 3 so it works:)

sammysam, Man its good to hear there are others who have a larger age difference here! How did he handle being an older dad? My husband wants kids but is a little nervous to get started, especially because he's older and doesn't really know how he's going to adjust to a 'fatherhood' role. My husband looks young too! I thought he was about 5 years younger than he is when I met him so I was bamboozled! lol

peggyhill I was the same. I was shocked when I found out SO's age for the first time. I thought he was maybe 5 years older than me. I think the adjustment period was a bit hard because he was used to it being just he and I for so long. He was used to deciding to go places on the spur of the moment and us being able to just go. He didn't understand how hard the first few months can be. He took to it well though. He is a wonderful father and has endless energy when it comes to DD. He is more actively involved with her now that she is older. As a baby I think he had trouble bonding with her but once she started interacting a bit more it became easier. Your H will fall in love instantly and honestly age isn't a factor at all after the initial adjustment to a new way of life.

He kept telling me we were great as we were and didn't need kids. I told him it was a deal breaker for me so he got on board. Now he's the one pushing for a second:/
