I know this has been discussed in other threads already but I can't really find it back.. so figured I'd simply ask again LOL!
We sorta really need to decide on which carseat to get for D. as she's starting to grow out of her bucket seat. We currently have an isofix base fixed in the car and can simply click in the bucketseat which is really handy and also feels the safer option then to use seatbelts. So we like the new car seat to have the same system if possible (although since we won't be taking it out of the car as often as we did the bucketseat, I guess tis maybe not terrible if it doesn't have isofix...) We also prefer to be able to install it both rearfacing (for safety for as long as she doesn't mind it) as frontfacing. Oh and for it to have a couple of different positions (like, sitting up and flatter for sleeping?).
What car seat do you have and what do you like/hate about it? How did you install it?
I asked around but it seems everybody around us uses older car seats and/or got the same brand which we aren't keen about heh so they aren't much help!
Thanks ladies for helping us out! ♥

I don’t think we have what you’re looking for in the States. From what I’ve seen ours are one position. Most can be rear facing, then forward facing. They are secured by seatbelts or latches - no base system like the bucket seats.
I just looked on Amazon and looked for ones that had high weight/height for rear facing and forward facing, so they could stay in both positions the longest with the five point harness.
It’s overwhelming and I don’t think there is a perfect car seat. I think they’re all sort of a pain in the ass, but it’s about safety not convenience/ease. I could be happier with the seat, but it’s nothing I hate.
MIL bought us convertible Evenflo Symphony seats. R is now using them for the next four years. I bought T Evenflo Maestro seats that should last several years given the height/weight limits and then R can have them.
You can spend hours, days, weeks looking for car seats - I think you just need to decide on a price range and just settle on something instead of driving yourself crazy.

bsouls, yeah you are right, there are way to many different options, and no such thing as a perfect car seat.. It definitely is about safety, though I ideally would also like for it to be comfi for D. I don't care whether it's hard to install, as long as once it is in, it works well. I don't think Evenflo is a brand for sale here. I'm currently looking at Britax carseats and while they are a little pricy I do like what I see. And well, €€€ for a carseat that we can use for several years is okay I guess.

We have a Chicco Nextfit for our convertible seat- it has a higher height and weight limit. But I can’t remember exact #s now. My only complaint about it is that the sides are pretty high so once your kid is so big, it gets harder to get them in and out without smashing their head on the car door. Or maybe that’s just a problem I had... DS used it until almost 3.5. And now L is in it.
I know a lot of people like the Graco 4evers bc it switches to every kind of seat you need.

I don't know that the states have what you are looking for. Once they are out of the infant seat, none of them have a separate base/seat. And they might have a couple different recline options, but the angle doesn't change all that much no matter the setting. They can't lay all the way down.
We have a graco 4ever for DS. We had him rear facing until this past winter. He's 3 now. He's tall (85%+) and he fits in it fine still. He probably could still be rear facing but he was having some car sickness issues. We haven't had any issues with the seat. It can be a little tough to get tight enough but I feel that with every seat.
DD has a Chicco Nextfit ix in my car. I really like it so far. It also has high rear facing limits.

We have Graco Extend2fits for both kids in both vehicles. I love them. They have a higher RF limit and by the time my bottom of the charts kids grow out of them they will be ready for boosters anyway. Molly just turned 3 (still RF) and we extended the foot panel 2 clicks a few months ago and she is just as comfortable as she ever was. She's 3ft tall as of last week and has plenty of leg room without having them up on the seat back or scrunched. Would recommend.

I have a graco4ever also. It has 3 reclining rear facing positions of you were looking for those options. Can you use the car seat anchors in your car? I love car seats for littles recommended car seat list. csftl.org/recommended-seats/Also I can’t believe D is now outgrowing the bucket. We have such a wide range of kids here. 6 months M was all done with the key fit 35 because of her head being to close to the top. Ahh yes they are called isofix here which is what i meant! Thanks for the link btw!

For those curious, I ordered the Britax Romer Trifix2 iSize yesterday. It comes in several different colors and I had my mind set on the pink one ( cause, why not!? ) but sadly they couldn't order that one booo. So now I got a storm grey one, boring but ahh <shrugs> LOL
