Especially happy because, 45 minutes from now, my sisters will be picking me up for my sister’s bachelorette weekend away. MIL is here to help with the kids when DH is at work. I know I’ll miss my kids, but I am trying not to dwell on that. Pool! Drinks! Sleeping as much as I want!

That sounds awesome snowyowl!! Enjoy! We’ll be spending the weekend with friends at the lake. 2 other couples and their kids, and we have friends wanting to boat over from their parents house to our sites at some point for a visit. It will be great!

Counting the minutes until I get to leave this afternoon.
SS1's birthday is this weekend and SS3 is making the drive down to spend the weekend too. 4/5 kids in the house will be pretty crazy, but it's been a long time since we've had so many of us all together at once.
I'm still so tired though. DD went right back down after her 1st wake-up, but then was up and ready to party at 3:30. She ended up in our bed because I just couldn't play the up and down game.

I’m currently laying in bed. MH is Home on his lunch break and hanging out with the baby downstairs. G is napping. In about 30 minutes I am going to get her up and get us out the door. I am meeting a friend and her two littles for ice cream.
I have to work tonight. I want to go to the gym again but I may save that for tomorrow.

Off work early and heading to the cottage! Excited to have a 3.5 day weekend instead of my usual one day. My cousin and her family will be meeting us there tomorrow.
My employees have been texting me about how brutal the coop student is. I’ve never had someone so negative work for me before. Can’t wait for her to be done in two weeks and glad I’m away for the afternoon.

Today is my husbands birthday. I’m failing at making it special but I’m kind of failing at all aspects of life at the moment so it shouldn’t be a surprise.
Confession: Baby is still sleeping in the RnP. We’ve tried to transition to the crib several times but it has led to lots of tears and little sleep. But now she has started trying to roll around in it and it’s all hot mess express and we have no choice but to go to the crib. Do not want to deal with it. But alas, I guess sleep training is what we’re doing this weekend.

But when we get to 6mo I am going to be a little more firm about night wake ups because she does not like her crib at all.

sunfrogger to be honest I don’t think she’d even sleep with me in bed. Plus my husband is not a tame sleeper by any means. When I was pregnant with DD1 our bedroom was tiny but we had a king bed. We thought we’d put her in bed with us in like a snuggle nest thing. We tried it out before she was born for a few nights. Every night he woke up completely on top of the damn thing. Lol. Also Arden is almost 7 Months. 🙈🙈🙈

ajetter Ugh, good luck with the crib transition! So tonight we went out to early dinner at BIL’s restaurant, which was delicious as always. He sent out a dessert on the house, a limey cheesecake thing with blueberries and it was sooo good. And then we went to a friend’s gallery opening, which was great for socializing a bit. But I thought I’d try to be one of those laid back parents in the evening, staying out with the kids past bedtime like it ain’t no thang. 😐 Nope. The girls were fine and happy while there, but then the baby screamed the whole ride home and the toddler regressed 7 months and cried about walking to the door, walking upstairs, not enough stories, new water.... I’ve returned to my not-breezy bedtime stance. Home by 7:30. In bed by 7:50. The end.

bassa I hate having to be a stickler about bedtime but yeah. My kids don’t sleep in if they stay up late, and everyone usually ends up crying. Not worth it.

My husband gets really nervous with O in the bed, so with our king I scoot all the way to the middle and put her on my left side (I sleep on the left side of the bed). I am a light sleeper, and there is more than enough room for her to roll over and then some.. but in bed she just sleeps RIGHT next to me. somehow she scoots UP though so I end up with no pillow because she's too close to it and I toss it off the side of the bed.

MH is uber breezy about the big's bed time because he's now in charge of it and yet he complains every single time when she makes it hard for him. I feel no sadness for him, he does it to himself. I am a bedtime nazi (can I even say that in today's political climate?) but I can't do both kids bedtimes so he has to step it up!

ajetter good luck on the transition! It’s so hard but will be worth it. I am also a bedtime nazi otherwise my kids loose their minds. And so do I. I’m so glad it’s the weekend.

I am a stickler for bedtime. H is super breezy. We had plans to take SS1 for his birthday dinner. I told H that if he showed up after 6, the baby and I would stay home. We ended up being him at the restaurant at 6:30 and I spent all of dinner holding the baby in the lobby except for 5 minutes to scarf down my plate.
