jense927 thanks! When I talked to our coordinator about doing a fresh and pgs I felt a bit nuts. I have this irrational fear that they're going to mess it up and test every embryo before we get a chance to transfer. We are only transferring 1 as we do not want multiples. If the first doesn't take we might reassess. bonzo, thanks! I did ice beforehand and while the Menopur burned, it wasn't terrible, and Gonal-f was easier than the trigger shot. Unfortunately, H is OOT so the shots are allllll me haha, I like control so I'd probably do them anyway. For a fresh transfer my RE does progesterone suppositories.

charliefox, icing before Menopur and Ganirelix has been helpful for me. I also prefer to go slow with the needle instead of jab.

charliefox I think OHSS is more for big responders. Even if you do have a high response there are things they can do do help with symptoms. I don't really have any tips on injections. I never iced anything, just jabbed it in and pushed the plunger. Actually that's my tip- don't think about it that much, just do it- some might sting more, but it's over soon so I just wanted to get it over with. Re: PGS, I don't know. I think there's good things and bad things about it. If you're younger and get lots of blasts, it's good, because then you're only transferring the good ones, but they you have less likelihood of having abnormal embryos to begin with. If you're older, you have a better chance of anuploidy, but you might also get less blasts. And age has no exact determinant of eggs retrieved/blasts either. Sorry this isn't helpful, but I think you have a good plan.

So they had one that they were able to test. I can email for results in about 2 weeks. I know it could be worse, but it could be a lot better too. I guess all I can do is hope that this one is euploid and see what happens.
I might be in and out of here for a while, since I won't be doing anything for a few months. I can't seem to quit this place, though, so there may be rogue lovetits and comments, but we will see. Good luck to everyone in case I do manage to cut the cord for a while!

Bluebird I hope everything went great today! Thanks! I’m recovering at home in bed, and they retrieved 17 eggs. Hoping for positive news tomorrow about our embryos.

Bluebird, how are you feeling? How was ER? You're right ahead of me so I rely on you to tell me what I'm in for

Bluebird, how are you feeling? How was ER? You're right ahead of me so I rely on you to tell me what I'm in for I am feeling decent today, but still kind of bloated and crampy. Taking it easy for sure. Yesterday I was pretty uncomfortable after the procedure and took some pain meds. I haven’t needed anything today but the heating pad.

charliefox, hopefully upping the Gonal F will help that nice cluster of 7s and 5s catch up! Bluebird, sounds like you’re recovering well! AFM, Lupron isn’t too bad. I definitely feel hormonal, and if I forget to stay hydrated I feel the headache almost instantly. It’s a relatively easy shot though, as far as needles go...still haven’t worked up the courage to learn how to do it myself, but at least it doesn’t feel like much when it goes in! Baseline on Monday, and then I get to add in Estrace and Vivelle!

bonzo, that's the hope! Started cetrotide last night (ugh, do not like that one!) which I know can slow things down so that's probably another reason why they upped my gonal-f. I have appointments 45 minutes away every morning for the next 3 days (and probably continuing until whenever trigger is), so that's a fun weekend! lol

Oh, and even thought I don't have a ton of follicles, and they aren't even that big, I've definitely reached the point of stretchy pants only. I can't imagine how people who are high responders feel - yikes!
