Add me to needing an afternoon nap everyday. I crash after I put down DS for his nap. Even just 30 minutes has been nice.
I fear the day when my almost 3 year old stop taking naps.

Infant Risk lists it as the preferred medication for diarrhea during pregnancy, just make sure it is the regular immodium and not the kind with other stuff in it. Pepto is Category C/D so is a definite no. www.infantrisk.com/content/over-counter-treatments-gi-complaints

ladybrienne, I hope you get some relief! charlotte, Oh no, glad it's just some scrapes and nothing more but damn ouch. We went to a concert at Red Rocks last night. It was my first time there and OMG it is amazing but do not recommend when pregnant. So much up hill and stairs and we had decent seats so didn't have to go to far up. I had to take a bath to soak at midnight last night.

We were woken up by the water alarm in our basement. It’s flooded with sewage...again. This is the third time this year and I’m getting really angry. Thank god we decided to redo the kitchen earlier this year and not the basement like we had planned. We now have to get the city involved and I don’t have high hopes because our main pipes were just redone the year before we bought this house, some 6ish years ago. Fucking shit, literally.

DS has swimmer's ear. He was up this morning at 4am crying because his ear hurt him so badly. My poor baby. I had him in our bed trying to comfort him and this LO was kicking like crazy. I couldn't help but thinking is this a little taste of my new life? Up with 2 kids at 4 am!
I am just so happy though that I am feeling consistent movement now. It really has helped a lot of the anxiety I had early on. Keeping me calm between doctors appointments.

If my baby is hardly ever active (like 95% of the time on a regular basis) is that something I need to bring up to my OB? I'm worried about having to do kick counts because she really doesn't have a regular active time.

I'm worried about having to do kick counts because she really doesn't have a regular active time. Does she move if you push into your belly or eat something sweet and/or cold? I find on days I'm really active that baby hardly moves, and if I'm just lounging around or sitting at my desk, he goes nuts. He gets annoyed by my rolling over in bed, or sitting with my belly against my desk, or when the dog lays against my bump. Kick counts are more just to make sure movement is happening at all, from my understanding. So if you haven't had movement in a while, do something to get baby to move just to make sure. I don't put a ton of stock in kick counts after the midwife from my previous practice just said they're for when you think something is off and you want to check and make sure, and aren't necessary if everything feels normal movement-wise.

Nothing seems to make her move more frequently but it’s like on a daily basis and has always been like that - I assume if rare movements has always been the case I don’t need to worry too much? I feel her maybe 10 times a day on a regular basis

hayleysmith it doesn’t hurt to mention it and get your doctor’s opinion. I don’t notice this kid move as much as I did with DS. I have an anterior placenta and I mostly only notice movement when I lay down at night. I think it’s easy for movement to go unnoticed when you’re up & moving around during the day.

Did anyone have IV pain meds during L&D with previous births? I had an epidural last time, but I noticed on some paperwork that I also have the option for IV pain meds this time. Obviously I will ask my OB about it; just looking for anecdotal experience.

I feel like I did, but I actually unfortunately don’t remember anything from my DS’s birth once I was admitted so I’m no real help lol I feel like it combined with the anti-nausea medicine (I was puking non-stop) allowed me to sleep for the first time in 2 days

I'm worried about having to do kick counts because she really doesn't have a regular active time. Let me preface what I say next with - chances are everything is fine. But call your doctor in the morning and have them check you and the baby out. This is absolutely 100% a case of better safe than sorry. And you will most likely find out that everything is okay and it will put your mind at ease. And if they recommend extra monitoring of some sort, it's worth it in the end.

I will call tomorrow - I just feel like a pain because she has never been regularly active so it’s not a change in movements. Her hb is always the same at all appts and always there when I use my doppler at home - which actually does make her move around - she tries to get away from my pressing it to my stomach. So, I feel her just not like all day long like some people talk about feeling theirs.

If you sense something might be off movement-wise, you should always call. If you wait until you are sure something is off, it may be too late. I'm sorry for being so blunt. I'm not trying to freak you out, and there are a million normal reasons why you little one isn't much of a mover. But the fact that you are questioning it means it could be an important thing to follow up on!

Especially when it's a change in movement, but since this is mostly normal I didn't know if it was something to bring up or not. I have a super short torso so part of me has just said she probably doesn't have much room for big movements. Who knows. I called my doctor awhile ago and haven't had a call back. I don't really remember how often DS moved around.

Talked to the nurse at the doctor's office and she said there isn't really a set "normal", but if once a day I get 10 movements in 2 hours for right now that's fine. They don't tell patients to do kick counts until 32 weeks. I guess I feel better. After we talked I paid attention and got 10 movements, so I guess she's just a lazy baby. She said if I'm really worried I could get checked out - but I'm not at the worried point per se just don't want this stress for 10.5 weeks if she's just lazy. She said most likely I'm just busy during the day and not feeling the movements - I sit at a desk all day so it's weird I wouldn't notice (not like I'm up and busy), but perhaps she is and I'm not noticing.
