I'm so sorry for the dog situation, littleliverpill. I hope R recovers quickly. Such a tough situation to be in.

I have had very little to do this week at work. I'm so bored. There are other weeks where I have a lot to do, so it all balances out, but this type of week just goes by SO SLOWLY.
Tonight H and I are going out for dinner for our anniversary. We've been in a rough patch in our marriage for a while, but we're still trying to communicate and make it work. Hopefully dinner together will be a nice time to regroup and connect.

littleliverpill, I'm really sorry for the tough situation with R and your dog. I also have an old dog who was my first "baby" before I had a baby, I can't imagine how tough that is.

I'm always off on Fridays, and H took today off as well, so we had DS' two year well visit this morning - he's growing, healthy, and no shots, so an excellent visit! Then we went and ran some errands to get stuff ready for his party tomorrow, and now it's nap time. This afternoon I think we're just going to enjoy some good family time playing on the swing set, splashing in the water table, and grilling turkey burgers - not a bad Friday!

littleliverpill I'm so sorry. We have three older cats and I keep waiting for one of them to lose it on my two year old. So far they've been surprisingly tolerant but they don't toddler well. It's so hard when the animal really just wants to be left alone but the kid is so interested in it. I'm off Wednesdays and Thursdays and go back to work on Friday. Most times I'm just as excited as people with normal schedules that it is Friday. Love my kids but the two of them wear me down when my husband isn't there to take one.

loves2read, I am pumped to be at work most Monday's after being off for the weekend because I get to drink hot coffee and no one screams at me. There is a whole lot of little kid screaming going on at my house lately.

I have a chicken soup simmering on the stove for dinner. It smells so good!
The supermarket near me sells a sushi roll called "sushi sandwich." I have absolutely no clue what on earth is in it, but OMG it's so good. Snacking on it now to stop me from eating the soup!

Last day of our staycation (except for the weekend.) I am pretty proud that we got out of the house at least every other day and tried something new. I am not usually that adventurous but am trying to be better now that we have a kid. We went to Sea Life at MOA one day and then to a popular all inclusive playground/splash pad in a neighboring city another day. Today we went and checked out our towns festival. We have lived here for 4 years but have never gone. We went right when the carnival opened at 2:00 so it was nice to be able to park close and check the layout out when it wasn't really busy. I really wanted to take DD on some rides. Well we got there and there was only one little kid ride and the Ferris wheel. We were debating on the little kid ride but then one of us would have had to go on it with her and we wouldn't both fit. We opted for the Ferris Wheel so all 3 of us could go. I am not afraid of heights but I feel like I get a little more paranoid each year, especially when the rides are rusty and creaking. DD did just fine on it. I don't think she really realized quite what was going on. So $12 later for us to ride one ride and $5 for a Strawberry Lemonade slushy we left. I was really hoping for more little kid rides

Morning! I have my car back, so I should probably do some food shopping today. Fun times in the Wookiee household. I got a text from one of my aunts last night that was barely intelligible, but I think she was trying to tell me that my other aunt, my "midwife" cousin, and one of her kids are going to be in town. I have no idea when and I have no idea whether I'm even willing to drop everything and drive to my hometown to see someone who's judged almost every single thing I've done as a parent. My cousin would be really cool if she weren't so judgy about pregnancy and parenting stuff though. Sounds like you already have "big" plans and won't be able to make it.

gooselover2012 Yea Ferris Wheels freak me out. I don't mind roller coasters or anything else but the rocking seats without a secure belt. For one of the "tamer" rides, I've always found it extremely scary.

Thinking of you littleliverpill. I know that's a tough situation Not much going on here. Evenings alone since H has the Haydn festival to play. Yes, he plays violin in a Haydn festival. I'm an orchestra director and even I think it's a snoozefest. But he loves it. My sister brought some stuff from mom. She's moving up soon to my sister's old house and she's clearing things out. I was presented with 30 year-old dance t-shirts for E and a university shirt that our cousin bought for us when he was in college way way way back in the day. I mean, I was literally between 4-6 years old. One of the dance shirts actually fit E pretty well; a little long but it fits in the shoulders. Pretty cool that she now owns something that belonged to me when I was a little tot. They made t-shirts to LAST in the 80s, man lol. We tried out our new M&D sprinkler with a friend and her toddler the other day. I took pictures with my school camera (I'm keeping it safe, shhhh) and they pictures came out so good. I actually shed a few tears over how beautiful my kid is. I'm a wimp.

littleliverpill that's a tough situation. My dog spends most of the day outside because my toddler makes her anxious (she's a nervous Nelly, he has never hurt her). She comes in when he's napping or asleep for the night. Not really ideal and I was hoping if she knew DS from a baby it would be different, but it is what it is. Can you keep the dog in another room or crate him when you need to leave the room?

We ended up having a pretty good time at dinner tonight. We got in a fight on the way there (of course) but were able to talk it out and had a nice dinner. I'm pretty sure the wine and champagne helped lighten the mood.
