Good morning.
Last night my crotchety, grumpy old dog, who I used to consider my other baby, attacked R when I had my back turned and we spent the evening in urgent care. Now MH and I are discussing next steps -- he wants to send the dog to an intense rehabilitation training camp; I don't know what I want to do but I'm upset. R's face is scratched up and looks awful.
So TGIF! What do you have going on today? Hopefully something better than over here.

Morning! I have my car back, so I should probably do some food shopping today. Fun times in the Wookiee household.
I got a text from one of my aunts last night that was barely intelligible, but I think she was trying to tell me that my other aunt, my "midwife" cousin, and one of her kids are going to be in town. I have no idea when and I have no idea whether I'm even willing to drop everything and drive to my hometown to see someone who's judged almost every single thing I've done as a parent. My cousin would be really cool if she weren't so judgy about pregnancy and parenting stuff though.

I'm so sorry about the situation with your dog littleliverpill. I hope R heals quickly. Have you called the vet and see what they suggest? If this is completely out of the norm for your dog I would see about getting him in for an exam to make sure there isn't something else going on.

Doesn't want to be bothered by a toddler. I do my best to keep R from messing with him but I can't physically be there every second of every day, as evinced by last night. :/

They couldn't see and hear very well and kids just moved too fast for them. Don't beat yourself up, it happens. If he's that old, I don't know if the training camp would really help. *hugs* this sucks any way you look at it.

Not too much happened today....I need to do some brain storming and figure out what to do for DH on Sunday. It's so hard to plan anything or even shop for something when one is relegated to bedrest (and lives in a country where online shopping really isn't a thing). Humpf.
My secretary went out to find a nice Father's Day card, so I'm going to have DS color something on it tomorrow. Then maybe order breakfast delivery from one of our favorite places nearby, since I am not supposed to stand up to cook. I am so uncreative!! I know DH will be happy with whatever, but I wish I could do more. He has been a real champ since I've been stuck on bedrest the past 3+ months.

I'm off today and sipping coffee while DD plays on the deck. This is much better than being at work. MH and I are heading out of town this evening for the weekend.

littleliverpill I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Toddlers can be difficult for even the sweetest of dogs. They don't get boundaries and they don't read signs. I would strongly advise you "crate and separate" not necessarily literally with the crating, but create a kid-free area for your dog. Use baby gates, doors, a crate, whatever. If you're not supervising the interaction, either the dog goes into that space, or the toddler goes into a highchair, gated area, etc.

DS managed to lock himself in his bedroom this morning. In our old place, it was easy for me to pick the lock whenever he did that. Here, not so much. So that was fun.
He did manage to poop on the potty afterwards (the entire time while chanting "I think I can do it, I think I can do it"), so I'm still calling this morning a win.
Now I'm sitting in my car sipping coffee before I have to be back at DS'S school for their end of the year party. Living it up, haha.

Plenty of more to come. billmurray, oooh, where you off to? jewel, +1 to being jealous. I'd love just a weekend at a beach house.

DH takes the kids to preschool in the morning and lets them pick the music in the car. Usually they listen to the Beatles. Which is cute. But this is cuter:
DH: ok BH, it's your turn to pick the music today. What are we going to listen to?
BH: Bih Bop
DH: Ok. Hip hop it is.

Happy Friday ladies!
I'm really excited because I ordered some curtains last night that I've had my eye on for about a year now. I first saw them on Wayfair and they were $100 for the set. Then I found them on Overstock ranging from $69-76 depending on the day and sale. Well last night I found them on Haute Look for $46! And I was able to use a Nordstrom gift card! I hope they look good IRL! I'm the worst with ordering curtains online and then hating how they look when I get them hung up.

Sorry to hear about the issues with your dog littleliverpill. One of ours has a tenuous relationship with DS, and it is very stressful for everyone. Some work with a trainer helped, but I would prefer to rehome him and DH is not on board. Not an easy decision either way.

elbowmac, I always get "shhhh you have to be quiet while I'm pooping" while she stares right into my eyes. littlelion, expensive curtains are why I still have the ones that were there when we bought the house. I have a valance in the kitchen that has roosters on it and I think it's ugly but not so ugly that I'm going to pay money or put any effort into replacing it. jubilantsquirrel, I also want to see the curtains!

LBB has his preschool "graduation" today. I think it's the dumbest thing ever. They are not graduating. They've just aged out. And it's not like it's even the last day. His entire class has working parents and they will all be there bright and early Monday morning and allllll through the summer until kindergarten starts.
But I will show up, smile, and film their little songs and dances like the dutiful mother I am.

I hate how curtains are so freaking expensive. I know. I wasn't in desperate need of curtains and there was no way in hell I was paying $100 for them so I just kept hoping I could find them cheaper somewhere else. They're going in our backroom that we use as a playroom. It's open to the kitchen and since our house is small you can see the doors these will go over from the front room, too. I wanted something colorful and fun. I'll include a pic of the room as well. The walls look a lot darker than they are IRL, they're more of a slate blue color.
