Morning! We went to a pre-trip meeting last night to discuss the upcoming Fiji trip. I’m glad someone else is coordinating everything. I just have to throw money to them. After a 13 hour flight from LAX we will ride a bus for 3 hours, then get on a boat for 1 hour to get to our destination. That sounds pretty miserable...but once we are there it will be amazing!
Tomorrow we are going to the lake for the day. We figured it might be our last chance for a while. Sierra has her tonsil/adenoids removal surgery on Friday and then they said to expect to stay home for the week with pain and discomfort. Then the next week school starts so we won’t have the opportunity as much to go since our days off are middle of the week.

I'm at work. My MIL came over to watch H the rest of the day. His temp at the pedi was 99.8 so if it gets any higher than that today I'll stay home with him tomorrow. Pink eye & an EI. Because his fever has been so high we'll do a round of antibiotics, too. Poor baby. It's just crazy how often he gets those EIs. We made it 1.75 months since the last one. It's a new record! Lol.

Morning!! We had a busy but fun weekend, and I haven’t caught up on the weekend thread yet. My oldest starts school on Wednesday so these are the last few days of lazy summer for us. I’m going to go to the gym and the target and then the kids have swim lessons. Maybe we’ll hang out at the pool after that. School already?! H starts 5 weeks from today.

Just bought Cadence some new light up Skechers. With promo codes and Kohls cash I paid 12.98 for $50 shoes.

cagoldi you look amazing! I'm pretty sure we have the same natural hair colour and blonde is definitely more upkeep but it looks amazing! Even if you just love it for the next 3-ish months, you've got time to decide. Are you keeping yours pretty light? How often do you go for the touch up? I went in May for my birthday and it's about time to go back if I wanted to, but I think I'm going back to dark. I could easily pull off blonde when I was younger and have loved it for the last few months; but I feel, and these are strictly my feelings about my head/hair, that I'm trying hard to look young, whereas the dark looks better the older I get. IDK if that makes sense... A purple shampoo I'd say is necessary to ensure it doesnt get brassy along with the Daddy-O purple conditioner from LUSH, really worked on my hair.

Hey! Lazy morning with a quick trip to target for laundry detergent and eggs. I think we are going to hang out with friends after nap this afternoon. Then tonight I have to work. I got the Zella leggings I ordered from Nordstrom and they are too long 👎🏻 so I guess they’re going back. Dang cagoldi

Hi all! Just checking in. cagoldi, you're gorgeous! My H took a picture of me yesterday, and I looked lumpy. Borderline dumpy. You're definitely handling a three kids body MUCH better than I am! Congrats on making it through the queue, peachsmama. I had one like that a month ago. Took me over a month to get it done. Ugh, not another ear infection, tgrimes! Poor guy!!! She's gorgeous, yummeecookee! I want to visit Maine/New England in the fall sometime, flamingo. We have beautiful foliage up here, but I've heard they're nothing compared to Maine, etc. lfig, Fiji?! Nice!!! We're at the splash pad, and S has formed a playgroup. Kid's a natural leader. We've discovered the The Office. Tried it once a few years ago and couldn't get into it, but this time we're all just dying. The whole crew is insane. Let's see...no news on the job front yet, although I should either get an interview or an offer on a part time position in the next couple weeks. We're still packing and sorting like we're going to move, though. The realtor gave us great news on our house, so I don't think we'll have trouble selling quickly as necessary. Aannnddd...I think that's it for me! Hope you're all well!

Every time she tells us something like did you know that 3+3+3 is 9 or if you add "ger" to big it spells bigger, I question my choice. But then she falls apart over a small emotional choice and I realize that her maturity may need another year.

I read opinions all morning and now I just want to go home and take a nap. *Patiently* waiting for the 100+ page opinion I've been promised before the end of the day. Joy.

So it sounds like maybe you are making the right choice. These decisions are so hard. I also don't understand why there isn't a universal cut off.

I eat like crap and unless chasing my crazy toddler at the park is considered exercise, I haven't exercised in... years.

I feel like a broken record with this, but I do think if we start her too early and she struggles emotionally, we could be looking at years of hatred and frustration at school. I also think, as a former teacher, it was always easier to take a more advanced child and give them a curriculum to challenge them, but far more difficult to take a kid who is struggling and get them to "keep up. ( academically or emotionally) Our district is also ridiculously small, so I would hope that the individual attention will be there, if we were to either start her earlier or start her at 5.5 where she MIGHT be a little bored with the material.

I felt very self conscious around all my thin friends this weekend. Oh well, no one to blame except myself.

Amazing cagoldi. Your hair looks good, but I'm so impressed you made the effort to go full glamazon! jewels I'm partial to navy pants for a more dressy look. I've bought theseshoes for M every spring/summer for the past three years for church and other dressy occasions. I love them on him. I hope they never stop making them. They come in toddler and big boys and other colors, too. yummeecookee B is so darn cute! Her eyes are beautiful!

M2 has a double ear infection. This makes #5 for him. Doc says he's about to the age where he should "grow out of it", but I'm not hopeful. Anytime he has a cold it is usually accompanied by an EI. If he gets one more this year, I'll be asking for tubes.

I agree with the emotional maturity part, because over the years it can affect academic performance as well. We just held our second son back in the fifth grade. Really hard call because he's quite bright, but he was so far behind his peers emotionally. Best choice we could have made, apart from doing it sooner. He's a different kid being around classmates at his maturity level.

tgrimes, thank you. I really don't see me doing anything with it right now. I know myself and I have to start with my diet then incorporate working out. And I already mentally have checked out on it b/c I have B's birthday/birthday party next week then we leave for vacation, so realistically we are looking at the end of August before I feel I can focus on anything. guster, I agree with that. I worry about S being bored with the material when he starts as well. But I, too, hope that his school finds ways to challenge him. I'm sure between you and the school system that she will stay challenged!
