I’ve been up since 4 with the little one so I thought fuck it I’ll go to early morning hot yoga. I’m sitting in the car in the parking lot sucking back some coffee and trying to wake up.
How’s everyone else’s Monday going so far?

The girls are starting back st daycare today and I’m sudddenly having all the feels. School doesn’t start next week for H and I but we wanted to get the girls (and ourselves) back in a routine. I need this time to finish up in my classroom but the last few days have been so much fun and the weathers been beautiful and the girls have been golden... hopefully we all transition soon.

It seems so early for school to be starting again! I remember we didn’t start until after Labor Day when I was a kid. Sorry for the feels - I’ll be hoping for a smooth and easy transition for you all!

I’m giving my 2 weeks today. I’m realizing how much my mornings are going to change, and I’m not even sure I’ll get to see DS2 any more. He’s a late sleeper.

Now that we’re back home and the kids continue to sleep pretty well, DH and I are going to do a date night this week. I’m very excited. We haven’t seen a movie in forever - I think Star Wars in Dec 2017 was the last time we saw one - so we’re going to see the new Mission Impossible movie. I’ve heard good things.
So that’s something to look forward to later this week!

Drop off went as expected - lots of tears for the girls but mama held it together. Since school doesn’t officially start till next week some of DD1’s good friends aren’t back to daycare yet either. I had to make myself walk away after hugs because she turned to me with the biggest and fakest smile and said “I’m trying to be brave but I’ll miss you” 😭
Now that I’m in my classroom working (and having to stop to pump -for a baby who doesn’t even want the bottle. Ugh!!!!) it’s all good. Just got to keep moving today.

Hugs danvers and curmudgeon I miss my babies during the day too. We do have a weeks vacation next month to look forward to. Speaking of which I need to do some planning for that. 1 week in a cabin in a lake in Canada. Will need sunscreen for my pale ass kids, bug spray, life jackets, swim suits, yikes.

DS slept great again, we finally got him back on track only to go camping again this upcoming weekend, I hope that doesn’t screw him up all over again!
Meanwhile he seems to have a death wish today. I have caught him climbing the stairs twice and he climbed up onto and fell off of a stool in the 10 seconds it took me to pour coffee🙄 Needless to say the babygate is going up to block the stairs but that only limits not eliminates what he can climb on...kid is a daredevil apparently

danvers Wishing you a smooth transition. curmudgeon Are your hours or commute going to be significantly different with the new job? bootsorhearts1 Just buy it all here, it will be super cheap with the exchange rate.

So my mom says that the baby took 2 steps when she was here Saturday. I’m not entirely convinced but then out of the corner of my eye it looked like she did a step on her own this morning. It’s too soon!!!
I’m getting things done today, getting quotes for cleaning ladies, figuring out how I’m going to wash my hockey equipment for the upcoming season, got shoes for the wedding I’m going to on Saturday and I’m going to try IP ribs just because.

curmudgeon Are your hours or commute going to be significantly different with the new job? drastically. I’ve WFH the past 5 years, 5 min from daycare. And now I’ll have an hour commute. My company had lay offs, I was included, and was asked to come back temporarily. So I’ve had to find something more permanent.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts today - DD1 had a good day. DD2 was a hot mess most of the day but they were too nice to put it that way. No bottles, super short naps, and lots and lots of crying. Hopefully each day will get better now.

We are doing potty training now. DS1 has been running around naked all day, and is definitely feeling cooped up in the house already. The last 3 times he peed were in the potty, so at least that is something. DH just got home from work, so I'm upstairs for a minute, and it sounds like things are not going smoothly.

The baby makes a break for it every time she sees the gate open... she almost fell down the stairs tonight, it’s only 2 but still. DH didn’t realize how fast and stealthy she can be.

bootsorhearts1 lil fella woke up around 4am tooting and we thought he pooped again but just toots. He then continued to babble for a good while before falling asleep again just as we had to wake up for the day at 6. He slept in till 745 and it screwed up his day. Refused morning nap and only took a 1.5hr afternoon nap - I was hoping for 2 to make up for the non am nap. Lately he's also been getting difficult to put to bed at night. Well it rained a good deal last week and this caused the temps to be so nice! We had a busy weekend with hubs spending it all in the backyard like a gopher with DS digging in the dirt; hub's is trenching to put in low voltage pipes for landscape lighting and outdoor speakers. Gah! i just want to be done already but with him doing all this we're still far from getting mulch and more landscape rock in. Lil fella and I was just hanging outside as much as we could between eating and napping. At least DS had a ton of fun looking for worms to put in the flower beds hah!

curmudgeon, congttulations! I missed this...I've been MIA most of last week. Stinks about the commute. I hope it's easy even though long? I have a 1 hr commute too but it's mostly driving through country roads so it's pretty relaxing. I dread to think that one day I'll have to go back to commuting to the big city which I heard has gotten much worse.

Oh gosh, yes. I would (and did) take a longer in miles commute over one where I’m sitting stopped for 3/4 of the drive. I can avoid the main central interstates so that’s a win in my book.

Yeah! I rather be moving then sitting in stop and go traffic! My first job - I lived a measly 12 miles from work but took be over an hour of commuting time. I saw lots of people shaving, brushing teeth, putting on make up and the best was this dude reading WSJ full on wide open and driving with his knees - he was in a jeep so I could see. That was how slow we were moving on the Interstate.

danvers Hugs! It will get better. trinitrotoluene Ah, potty training- you can do it! Just stick with it and try not to get discouraged. Good luck! curmudgeon Sorry about the long commute, but at least it’s not in heavy traffic! Good luck figuring out the feeding schedule - that is so hard.
