Morning! My family just came in from the backyard camp out. I am making cinnamon rolls, basil and goat cheese quiche, and iced coffee.

The neighbors did an outdoor movie last night, so the kids were up late and we are taking it easy this morning. I am not ready for summer to end!

nam2013 that really sucks. I'm assuming you've tried DEET or other replellents? Not sure if this works but the Google suggested: Add 1 cup of water to a spray bottle, followed by 2 cups of distilled white vinegar. Ticks hate the smell and taste of vinegar, and will be repelled by this ingredient alone. Then, add two spoonfuls of vegetable or almond oil, which both contain sulfur (another natural tick repellent).

Family taekwondo class with my favorite instructor this morning. She's a middle aged curvy female black belt. So she's like my hero.

Cadence is having a confusing swim lesson. We spend so much time drilling "flat feet" into her that now when the coach says point your toes she is questioning it. LOL
I have told her tippy toes is fine in swim, dance and gymnastics.

I brought Max in for bloodwork and to shave his mats and we got home and they didn’t shave the mats. I’m super annoyed because one is on hit leg/tummy area and it’s really tight so I can’t safely do it myself. He’s super upset so I can’t take him back today so we made an appointment for next Saturday. I just feel bad that he’s uncomfortable. He also lost another .5lb since April. He’s .25lbs way from my internal holy shit cut off. He does still seem happy but if he’s dropping weight for seemingly no reason, that’s not good.

nam2013 that sucks. If you feel comfortable putting it on the kids deet bug spray works against ticks. Whenever I had to go to my friend T's cabin I had to use it or I had a ton of ticks attack me.

C is working today. So another day of just E and I. If she actually sleeps during the day I hope to finish thank yous and her birth announcements today.

I need to remember on Monday to call the pastor of the church Lo's school is at and see if they will recognize E's baptism if my sister does it. If yes, we have figured out what to do. If no, c and I have more discussions.

I just realized I never posted my sort of big news yesterday. 2 jobs opened up in my company that start in January but their interviewing for in August/September for. Since I know as soon as I submit my bosses will be made aware I notified them yesterday and submitted the request.

I got an email back saying they are interested and once they get all the applications they will reach out for an interview. They know I'm still out on leave with E and said I can bring her work and have a coworker watch her while I interview. Which is something my company rarely does. So I'm hopeful of getting one of the jobs.

Edit: my pay would almost double. I'm glad I thought ahead and notified the bosses because I'm sure they were emailed or called around the same time as my email.

wedding Since all our family is so close, which for 99% of the time is amazing, it is not the best idea to have a staycation...

Thanks for all your commiserations girls! Not sure who asked, but Lyme is a thing, but only is the tick is on your body for more than 24 hours, which considering we’re checking ourselves and the kids 10 times a day is near impossible. Our neighbour here is looking into something to treat the garden and my mom is looking into alternative accommodation.

H has been super snotty the past couple of days. No coughing yet. When he wakes up he has nasty shit coming out of his eye, although I’m not sure it’s pink eye.

Yesterday at pick up they said his temp was 99 and he was breathing heavily. When I got home his temp was 101. I never heard him struggling to breathe or anything though. I dosed him with Tylenol and he slept fine.

This morning his temp is 99.3 and he has crusty stuff in his ear. I don’t see any fluid like I used to though, so it may not be infected.

Would y’all take him to the pedi this morning?

The last couple times X had a sinus infection, he had green snot in his eye.

I'd go ahead and take him. If he needs ABX, better to start them now so he can recover over the weekend and be okay for DC on Monday.

So, I've spent way too much money on who knows what so I'm strapped until payday, which is only a couple days away. I had to do the food shopping, though, so I told Cadence, we stick to the list (we still got a couple of extras, like ice cream) and I managed to get lunch stuff and dinner for 5 nights (Sun-Thurs) all for under $50. I looked at what we had already and am working off those. I'm amazed. Normally I spend more than double that. This shows me that I'm buy way too many unnecessary items (mostly for Cadence )

PSA if you shop HEB they have an in store coupon for $1 off their Swoon ice cream. I highly recommend their brownie a la mode flavor.

Afternoon! I'm on my 4th load of laundry already today. And unpacked from last week and starting to make piles for the next trip. All swimwear is discounted now so I should be able to find us an extra suit for the trip.

So this just happened:

We have a long skinny driveway so i backed out mh’s car so he can take o out in my car because i have all the car seats right now (long story).

I’m parked in front of our house waiting for him to back out so i can pull in and go back in the house. He backs out and apparently doesn’t see a car parked across the street from our driveway and backs right into it! Crash, bang, wallop!

I was so surprised. It happened so fast.

Of course the first thing he says is, “why didn’t you honk?” Um yea, I’m not to blame that you didn’t look properly. I backed out just fine. Then he said the sun was shining in the camera... this is why i don’t rely on a camera and i turn my head around to look.

Is it weird that a part of me is happy when he does these things because then if i ever mess up the car he’ll remember what he did?! He can be a hard ass about our cars and it seemed like i was always the one getting a scratch or ding.

We should hear about C's promotion in August or September, depending on when the new store opens up.

As for my job I hope to get it but they have it opened up to even outside the company so I don't know who all is applying.

Hi all. On the final leg of our trip - at mh's aunt's condo on the beach. We are waiting for my SIL to come over to go to the beach..of course we got her at 11 and it's now 4 and she's coming over. This is so typical of visits with her. We road the ferry this morning from NJ and J was pretty pumped about traveling on a "cruise ship". I'm not sure who is more tired from this trip, us or the kids.

Did I tell you all that we are moving S from the private day care (which I LOVE and it makes me sad to leave) to the preschool at the Elementary school this year? We are making the switch so that she can have a para (one on one aide) with her to help her through the day. I was planning on sending her to the day care for after school care because school gets out at 2:50 and we don't get off work till 4:30. I just found out that they are not doing after school care anymore at the day care...so que panic! What the hell am I going to do ! I stressed all week about this...but today I found someone to pick her up from school and keep her for a bit till we get off work. It is an old babysitter we used when she was a baby and I feel so much better not to have to stress over that now! School starts in just a few weeks so I am hoping they call me to set up the IEP meeting soon so we can get her services set in place to include the para!

My parents are coming tomorrow to stay for a few days. They have been wanting to come and see the puppies, and it just so happened that MH and I have a meeting about our Fiji trip with the group we are going with tomorrow evening. So instead of taking her and being distracted and missing potentially important information...my parents will babysit! I am starting to get nervous about leaving S for so long (2 weeks!) I know I will be missing her...but I am also sooooo excited for some adult time and SLEEPING IN! It is 2 and a half months away which feels like an eternity! We have been planning this trip for over a year now though!

Well she was. She lost the baby yesterday. Shes 14 weeks and was going to have a d&c. But she passed the baby this morning. They're not doing well at all.. if you could just keep them in your thoughts.
