We went to the farmers market for the first time since DD was born yesterday. It was busy, but nice to get there for some snacks and fresh veggies. We walked along the boardwalk afterwards while DD slept in the baby carrier on DH.
Today so far I've had breakfast, made 5 kinds of baby food, and I'm about to go grab a shower. DH has been on baby duty all morning, so I've finally been able to get the food stuff done.
Later today we're going to the in laws house for dinner and maybe some pool time if the thunder showers hold off.

rebeccabunch hugs, mastitis is a big bitch! Lol I had to pull the lecithin out MOTN bc my kid STTN!!!! 🙌 I am also currently pumping bc one boob still felt full this morning! +1 for L not liking purees soo far. The only thing he LOVES is ice cream 🤦🏼♀️ I am going to continue for practice and probably start blw combo when he gets the hang of eating. I actually have an OT appt for him this week and I am pretty such they are going to want to watch him eat too so maybe they’ll give me pointers.

rebeccabunch I hope you're feeling better. Mastitis is no joke. DD is napping! It's a Sunday productivity miracle. I got all her laundry done and her drawers switched over to 9 month clothes. We're feeling the puree dislike over here too. She'll eat some, but the way she went to town on her pancake this morning, I'm really motivated to switch over to a BLW approach. I just need to get H and the nanny on board. They are both very old school.

Random question. If you were to come across a mamaroo, bought in 2013 with an infant insert, in barely used condition... what would you expect to pay at a garage sale?
We’re planning on having a large garage sale in the spring to purge a lot of the baby gear. But a friend wants to buy our mamaroo now. I’d definitely give her a ‘friend discount’, but I don’t have the slightest idea of how much to ask for it since it’s a 5 year old model. But really, it hasn’t been used all that much.

ajetter mamaroos go for $75-$100 used here. So $50-$75 for a friend? I’m sure prices are all over the place though based on location

J may be lagging on the gross motor skills (or just lazy).... but that boy LOVES his purees. He can eat. He figured everything out very quickly and want more more more! So far he has liked everything I have tried.
I just made a second batch of pureed pears (which are his favorite).

Thanks everyone. I can’t really complain about the lack of sleep though. It was too have fun. The rule in my house is that you can’t complain about being tired if you had fun the night before. I stand by it. 😊 MH has also been a rockstar and let me sleep until 7:30 and he let me take a nap before I got in the shower to go to the grocery store. I say let because he has to be on baby and kid duty while I sleep, not because I need his permission. Lol. I don’t know why I felt the need to clarify that.

My little dude continues to love his purées. We just bought some puffs for him to try. He has also gnawed on a banana a bit. I’m trying to think of what to give him next since he has teeth now.

I’ve always leaned towards BLW especially with #2 and #3 mostly out of the fact it gives me more time to eat and clean up, lol! For some reason I’ve never found it too scary, so I guess it’s good to just roll with whatever works!
We went to church this morning and having a little quiet time now before a birthday party at the swimming pool this afternoon. Should be fun!

I bought our mamaroo used for about 50 bucks without the insert at a consignment sale. It crapped out at 3 months though

Faith and I both slept for 3, almost 4 hours this afternoon and it was glorious. I'm not sure what I will do if/when we have another and I won't be able to do that because I have a toddler running around. She also took a 2.5 hour nap yesterday so I think she might be gearing up for a growth spurt.
I was going to go to the grocery store but got too lazy, I just placed an order to have them delivered. It costs a little more money but I don't have to go do it. Sometimes it is worth the cost!

So since baby E has refused the banana, avocado, applesauce we’ve offered, today I let her have some of what we were eating - pasta sauce - and she LOVED IT. Like, got really upset when I took the spoon away to put more on, then nom nom nom nom. So now we know! Girl just wanted something with flavor. 🤷🏼♀️

BLW purists will disagree but I think a good way to baby step it is a silicon mesh feeder. I did that w DS2 a few times before we dove in.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes!

I found DS1’s old mesh feeder the other day and on a whim, put a slice of peach in there for DS2. He went to town on it... He’s been trying to snatch food out of our hands for weeks and even managed to gnaw on a couple things when we held it to close to him. He’s only 5 months but he’s 20 lbs and clearly interested in food, so I guess we will start the solids in earnest soon.

I successfully convinced h to go out for Mexican! Margaritas and tacos were had! It’s super hot here, 94 with no AC 😳! Thankfully tomorrow should be the last super hot day for at least a week!

Mastitis has still got me down. It’s beautiful weather and the only weekend all summer we weren’t over planned so I’m sulking about being laid up in bed. Toddler stomp! pinkcat thank you for your nice post yesterday! No big troubles in life. Just a stressful period in work + no napper and fairly regular poor night sleeper baby and my other kids. This too shall pass! But thank you for asking. I hope you woke up today feeling a little bit better....what a bummer to be sick over a nice weekend! I'm sorry. And I hope baby starts napping for you soon- hugs!! This too shall pass is a good mantra right now!
