L had his 9 month appointment this morning. He's 19lb 13oz, I was really surprised he wasn't over 20lbs, lol.
I mentioned that he's still not sleeping through the night. She didn't really have any advice, but also didn't shame me, so 🤷♀️
He also started coughing a lot last night. It's probably some random summer cold. She said he sounded a little wheezy, so recommended I give him some of DS1's albuterol over the next few days.

cougarette I can count the number of times on one hand DD2 has slept through the night. It sucks but they have to grow out of it eventually right?

Went to my GP for the girls food intolerances/allergies and she referred me to a pediatrician since she isn’t up on the latest recommendations. Shes basically winding down her practice and hasn’t taken new patients in years so she mostly deals with older people, I’m cool with that, better to get the info from someone who knows.
Thanks for all the advice yesterday everyone, it’s nice to see I’m not alone and that these challenges will continue. I feel more confident that I can manage this. I’m thinking I might try some one on one time with her this weekend and make it a point to do bedtime a few times a week.

LO used to sleep through the night pre-top teeth. She’s back to one wake up at 11:30. We tried letting her CIO last week but she went for 2.5 hrs for nights 1, 2, and 3 before I said screw it. She eats and goes back down within 30 minutes. That’s much more sleep then I was getting with 2.5 hrs of crying. H, of course, slept through it all of this nonsense over the last week.
I need to spray paint about 40 or so boxes for my classroom library in a week and a half. It has nothing to do with helping my students learn - just makes my classroom look pretty 😂 so in between random things the girls are doing or playing, I’m outside spray painting.

Guys, I think I'm an idiot. As his 9 month checkup, I was told DS had slightly low iron. Pedi said to get a multivitamin that had iron in it. I tried Zarbee's but it smells, and apparently tastes, terrible. He makes the most disgusted faces and I don't blame him based on its smell. So I thought I would try incorporating more iron rich foods in his diet. I picked up some pouches that had spinach, etc. in them. But, I looked at the spinach one last night and it said it has 0% of daily recommended iron amount. WTF. It's like spinach and a couple of fruits. Am I dumb? Why isn't there at least a hint of iron in it? This was a Gerber organic pouch, so it shouldn't be artificially flavored and actually be real fruits and veggies, right? RIGHT?

thatgirlrachel it’s weird that it’s zero, but the pouches I get with spinach have like 2%. I think you’d have to eat a lot to get enough iron from it. Meat is the best source honestly. Though my kid eats the hell out of sausage and chicken nuggets and fish and her iron is still low. We do an iron only supplement and she doesn’t mind it at all. Another option is an iron fortified baby cereal, or regular cereal like Cheerios is a good source too.

DS suddenly hates bath time. Like HATES it. Screams and cries and tries to climb out the whole time. He used to love bath time and would play and splash the whole time, I have no idea what happened 😢 We are going swimming on Saturday and I hope he’s still my little water baby, he usually loves swimming

curmudgeon congrats!!!!!!🎉 doodlemommy what did you make in the IP? Can’t decide if I want one or not. I followed the IP thread on GD last year and still am not completely convinced BUT now that my both my llittles are eating “real” meals with us, I feel like I need to up my dinner game from just spaghetti nights or breakfast for dinner.

danvers I used our IP the last two nights. Last night we made red beans and rice. Tonight I cooked a frozen chicken breast that I forgot to take out of the freezer last night. I've made ribs in it several times and they are always so freaking good.

My mom has bedbugs. She desperately wants us to come visit and is even offering to buy plane tickets for me and the toddler, but then there is no way around staying with her, and bedbugs. I cannot bring bedbugs home or expose my boys to them. I just can't.

I made lemon butter chicken tonight. I liked it but that kind of thing isn’t DH’s favourite so I will try something different next time. I made it with frozen chicken breast and it was so tender and juicy in like 20 minutes! I am looking forward to using it on days I work once I go back in the fall. And to make eggs, and yogurt, and steel cut oats. I have wanted one for a while and finally pulled the trigger |

trinitrotoluene bed bugs are no joke. I’ve read they have to empty the house and heat it up to 110 degree or something to get rid of them? They are resistant to lots of traditional pesticides and without proper treatment like washing sheets and clothes with super hot water, it’s easy to get reinfected. doodlemommy that’s what I think we are dealing with too. I gave her Advil last night and it seemed to help. She still woke up at 6 but oh well.
