Age: 2.75
Milestones: We just turned his car seat forward and he is loving it!
Challenges: all of them. I've been listening to the "How to Talk so Kids Will Listen" books for ideas.
Funny/cute stories: We saw Madagascar a month or two ago, and last night N was saying "I like to move it move it" so I found the song on Spotify and he was singing along and bobbing his head and waving his arms. So freaking cute!
How are you? Tired and sick. Finally caught the cold going around my house except I can't take any of the drugs my husband can since I'm preggo. I guess I should also add "whiny" to this list.
Anything else? Today we have our follow up u/s to our 20 week one because they couldn't get adequate pictures of her heart and I am trying to not stress about it.
QOTW: Dark or milk chocolate? Dark! Love those 90% cocoa bars!

Age: 3
Milestones:
Challenges: he’s 3. He is just awful to be around sometimes and I feel awful for feeling that way.
Funny/cute stories:
How are you? Irritable
Anything else? What are you telling your kids about strangers? Anything yet? Our pediatrician mentioned now is the age to talk to him about strangers and I don’t even know what a dialogue like that would be for a 3 year old.
QOTW: Dark or milk chocolate: I love all chocolates. So dark or milk are welcome, I slightly prefer dark.

A friend recommended the book Super Duper Safety School which we read every week. It is more about tricky people than strangers and has rules about what to do if you get separated from your parents, uh oh feelings, etc. Just ordered this, thanks for the recommendation!

Age: 3.5
Milestones: He willingly used the potty a few times over the weekend.
Challenges: Basically everything with him lately. Fighting and arguing and whining...
Funny/cute stories: He fell in love with a stuffed animal (Biscuit the dog) at Barnes and Noble last week. It has gone everywhere with us since, and he uses Biscuit to ask for things he doesn't want to ask himself- like in front of his cousins last weekend, he said "Biscuit" needed a rest because he didn't want to admit he needed one. Another time, he tripped and tumbled (along with Biscuit), and then hopped up and said "Biscuit just loves gymnastics."
How are you? Tired, grumpy, and just generally over everything.
QOTW: Dark chocolate! Milk is too sweet.

mirabelle, around that age, our big concepts were never leaving mine or H's vicinity without our permission, and not having to let anyone touch them if they don't want it (with the exception of medical care), along with learning H's and my full names. We didn't want to teach "stranger danger" because there are some times it's necessary to talk to strangers, like if they got lost, and crimes against children are often committed by someone they "know" and not a stranger.

Age: 5 weeks Milestones: He's been holding his head up more and better. He held it up and looked around for about 5 seconds yesterday. Challenges: He's been super clingy and doesn't want to be put down. Also, his weight gain is super low and I feel like I'm just not sure what else to do to get it up. Funny/cute stories: I took him in the pool for the first time this week. It was a little bit cold, so I was just putting his feet and legs in the water. He slept basically the entire time, except when I put his feet in, then he'd let out a cry, and as soon as I pulled him up again he'd fall back asleep. {Spoiler} How are you? Just TIRED. I've been sleeping so deeply lately that I feel like I've drugged myself, which isn't good when I have a baby who needs me. Anything else? My mom and I took him to visit at my work (a nursing home) for the first time today. Everybody was squeeing over him lol QOTW: Dark or milk chocolate? I like all types of chocolate. I don't discriminate lol. If I HAD to choose, it would be dark though.

Age: 1.5 years Milestones: Talking all the time these days! Challenges: Sleep regression. He's started waking in the MOTN and MH just can't seem to ignore him. I'll admit, I sleep right through it most nights. IDK how, but I won't hear C at all and then MH will say he was up with C in the MOTN. Sorry, H! Funny/cute stories: Whenever I say, "Love you," he responds with just, "Too." Sometimes he'll say the whole "love you, too," but usually it's just, "too." And I've been calling my mom daily on my way to get J from DC. It's about a 10 minute ride from C's DC to J's DC, so it's just enough time for a check-in. Anyway, I use the Bluetooth, and C talks to my mom the entire ride. Just babbling or saying the words he knows over and over. She loves it and spends the whole time giggling and laughing with him. It makes me happy How are you? Okay. Doing a lot of driving and stuff to see my mom and help out. Plus, the new meds I'm on are making me sleepy. Anything else? Lots of mom related stuff. Otherwise, we're gearing up for some vacations and weddings, which is always fun. And I think I'm going to buy a new dress to go with my new rose gold highlights! QOTW: I'll say milk for a candy bar. But semisweet always for baking.

DrHooch , I had to go back 3 times before they could get pictures of Fs heart, so hopefully the stress is for nothing =) I wish I had seen this before my appointment! It seemed like the tech was having trouble again and had me roll on my side to see if it would help but it turned out to be fine. She checked out perfect and is growing right on track!

Challenges: fussy eating and messy eating Does this every go away? N is outgrowing his bibs but not his need for them and I am trying to decide if I need to buy bigger ones. Probably yes.

She is normally not a fussy eater so it’s real frustrating. I have keep finding new and different things for her to eat she gets bored fast. She loves pulling off the bibs too.
