Age: 2.5
Milestones: He got his two year molars. I feel like an idiot... I thought he had an infection caused by his allergies. I took him to the doctor, and she agreed, so we started an antibiotic. Two days later, all symptoms stopped and he had two new molars. I'm a second time mom, a nurse, and I have an early childhood education degree. You'd think one of those things would have clued me in...
Challenges: Now that those molars are done, he's back to his sweet little self. Our biggest challenge is teaching him how to be kind to the puppy.
Funny/cute stories: He is in love with Jack (the new puppy)! When I brought the puppy home, he was so excited, yelling "Dog! Dog!" I told him his name was Jack, and he said "I love you, Jack!" and gave him a big cuddle.
How are you? Much better! I'm all drugged up from last week's sinus infection. I weighed myself yesterday, and I've lost exactly 70 lb, and I'm 2 lb away from my main weight loss goal!!
Anything else?
QOTW: Any Father's Day plans? H doesn't want to do anything since he failed (not by his own fault) Mother's Day. I think I may invite his friend over for a little barbecue or something though.

Age: 4
Milestones: Nothing new to report.
Challenges: Nothing new to report.
Funny/cute stories: This morning before I left for work, he was sitting on the couch with older brother. He stubbed his toe pretty badly the other day, and he was showing it to him. I overheard this conversation:
DS2 - You want a booboo like mine? DS1 - Sure. DS2 - Go get one!
How are you? A little swamped with work and general busy-ness this week, but not bad.
QOTW: Any Father's Day plans? MH & DS1 are going to the O's game and playing catch on the field before the game. (It was a pricey promotion that I bought tickets for as his Father's Day gift.) THEN, I got a call that a contest I had entered DS1 into months ago resulted in him winning the chance to run onto the field in the middle of the game to "steal second base" - he has 60 seconds to run from center field to grab the base and then back. And he gets to keep the base and gets a jersey. My parents are coming too, so it should be fun!

Age: 20 months (I think? I forget.)
Milestones: Nothing new, that I can think of.
Challenges: Same.
Funny/cute stories: This kid thrives on being outside. Trying to get him (and brothers) inside at night is a bear. But I can ask if he wants a bath and he will beeline for the garage. I'm glad I have at least one tactic!

Ages: 1.5/3.5
Milestones: DD just finished her first year of full immersion Spanish pre-school and while won't speak Spanish, I catch her singing songs in Spanish all the time.
DS is on the verge of language and has said both dog's names and has started signing "elephant" and trumpeting. I'm so ready for some level of communication. DD was so extra verbal, it's making this toddler experience much more difficult.
Challenges: DD is manipulative and totally wants full control of her environment. She also is super needy, especially wanting to touch me. All. The. Time. She is super articulate and so I forget sometimes that she really is still 3 emotionally. I'm trying really hard to balance the cuddles/attention with shutting down tantrums.
DS is transitioning from two naps to one, except he falls asleep at 9am and then won't sleep until bedtime and is a bear. I'm also afraid he's going to be a runner, because he tends to love "chase" games.
They're just starting to really interact and play and that's super cute to watch.
I have an interview next week for a full time administrative position and I'm ready. My mom is freaking out about me going back to work, but I'm ready and SO is totally excited to stay home with them...it's pretty much a win win.
I totally forgot it was Father's Day. We're going down to my mom's, so we'll have a brunch with her ILs.

Age: 3
Milestones: doing better with colors, counting, etc
Challenges: listening, stubborn, attitude....and the cursing...
Funny/cute stories: no fear...went right in the creak and started catching crayfish with her sister
How are you? Doing well. Excited that summer break has started and that I get extra time home with the girls
Anything else?nope
QOTW: Any Father's Day plans? Probably will grill something and have the girls make DH a card or something

Age: 4
Milestones: nothing new to report
Challenges: he still struggles with using his pull-up (overnight only) in the AM when he needs to poop. We have managed to get him to go on the toilet maybe 2x a week on average, the rest in the pull-up -- he was doing SO well with it before our loss in Sept. I am seriously out of ideas for what to do now. We tried taking the pull-up away for a few nights, and that was an epic disaster.
Funny/cute stories: He has his own version of a Molly bear for K, a purple stuffed bear we had at the memorial service. Lately he wants to bring it everywhere with him, and have her join him playing. It's both adorable and heartbreaking for us to watch.
How are you? coping mostly. This weekend was amazing with the grant, though.
Anything else? nah
QOTW: Any Father's Day plans? nothing solid yet. I usually leave it up to H to decide what he wants to do
ETA - some weird link showed up in here?

hawkward - Congrats on the weight loss! That's an amazing achievement! And your new puppy is adorable. boxerific - No. Way. Your kid gets to steal 2nd base?! I'm so jealous! loony - Good luck at the interview! chknma - Three is tough. Establishing independence can be a test of patience for sure. fikafairy - Huge {{hugs}} That sounds like it'd be tough. And I've said it here before, poop is so different when it comes to PTing. J struggled (still does some days) with #2. enchanted - Glad you and YH had a nice weekend away, and that the kids handled it well!

Age: 4 Milestones: J officially starts pre-K in about a month. Hold me. Challenges: She's been grasping for alone time with me and MH, which has been challenging. Funny/cute stories: I got to go on a fieldtrip with J yesterday! We went to the circus and she had a ball. Every time an animal came out she screamed, "Oh, Mommy! Look at that zebra! He's soooo cute!" Then, we hit the grocery store and she sang songs from Trolls the entire trip. Let me tell you, she was NOT quiet about it either. The entire store heard her singing. It was precious How are you? Okay. I'm on London time at work and EST at home. Plus, the baby isn't sleeping well at night, so I've been running on lots of broken sleep. Anything else? I think I made a new mom friend! It's so hard to make new adult friends, amiright?! QOTW: We always go to our favorite diner for breakfast, then hit the baseball card shop so MH can pick something out. I made him baseballs with the kids' handprints on them for his gift from them. Plus, I scored some NFL tickets for October. They're for Father's Day and our anniversary. He'll be super surprised I got those tickets!
