Samsung? LG? Something different?
I’ve had an iPhone for years. I think I currently have the 6. My phone upgrade date is August 1 and this one is starting to drive me nuts. Any opinions on..
Upgrading to the 8? That’s the most affordable option for me right now if I continue with Apple. Will I be happier with the iPhone once I upgrade?
Or is Samsung starting to be the way to go?Have you gone from an iPhone to something different? Have you gone from something different to an iPhone?
Tell me your thoughts. I feel like it will be hard to change, but not out of loyalty to Apple, but getting used to something new lol. H has an iPhone, but would also consider the switch if we both like my potential Samsung.
My priorities are easy camera use and storage (I have a separate DSLR, but would still like something nice for on the go) and a good battery life.

I have an iPhone, but an 8 plus. In the interest of not learning something new and because I’m an Apple lover, I wouldn’t ever switch. But I know nothing about the other options. My battery life is pretty dang good. Unless I have been using it a lot (consistently for a few hours) I usually have 30-40% left at the end of the day.

I like my iPhone for simplicity of use. My only complaint is that my sisters Samsung takes better pictures. It takes her forever to do things on it but the pics are clearer. I have iPhone 7.

Ive always had a Samsung phone, but I'm very familiar with Apple too since I have an iPad. I loooove the camera on Samsung phones. My mom has always had an iPhone and when we compare pictures taken at the same time mine are always much clearer. I just got a new phone yesterday actually, the S9 plus, and the camera on it is SOO good. Other than the camera I think there are a lot of similarities between this one and iPhones, so you can't go wrong with either...it's just a different format for each one! I find both equally easy to use.

I just went through this exact same debate!
I have a 6. My phone is through work and I was overdue for an upgrade. I ended up getting the X and it should come today but I wanted to go Samsung. What stopped me is learning a new phone seemed like it might send me over the edge. I’m feeling very on the poor sleep/stress verge lately and sadly a new brand of phone stressed me out.
ETA I meant to add he only thing I cared out was the camera too! I was also interested in the google pixel.

The iPhone 8 plus has a lot of camera upgrades not available on the 8 (but the 8 still takes good pictures). All of the pictures I've posted of Faith on here were taken with the 8 or 8 plus (mostly the 8 plus).
If your DH has an iPhone I would lean heavily towards just upgrading. You can share chargers, airdrop pictures back and forth, use family apps easily etc.
I upgraded from a 6s to the 8 plus (really the 7s but they changed the naming convention for whatever reason) and I really like the larger screen. It still fits in my back pocket but is easier for me to text and play on the internet on the larger screen. It has pretty much made my iPad mini obsolete except for watching moves when we travel.
That being said, I've never used or owned a Samsung so I know nothing about them.

I'm a Samsung girl now. I've never had an iPhone but I switched from Blackberry to Samsung and I found the transition easy. Pretty easy to learn.

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and H has a galaxy 8. I hate his galaxy except it has better battery life. I find mine much easier to use. Plus his galaxy is all glass (like the back and everything) and he promptly dropped it and it’s all spidered.

I am in your boat. My iPhone 6 was acting up and I decided to make the switch to android. I got a Samsung 9 yesterday. Mostly it doesn't seem too hard but I have one person at least who is having trouble texting me because it keeps going to imessages still. Jury is still out on whether I will be happy I made the switch.

I am firmly android for life, although H went over to the dark side and said that his iphone is easier to use.

Update I really like the X. The no home button doesn’t even bother me but I know I can go to settings and add one if it starts to get annoying.
I’m glad I went apple because with the new phones (I think 8 and up) the new phone automatically gets set up with all your contacts, texts, pictures email accounts saved passwords etc. so easy. Especially with my work email.

I just upgraded from a 7 to an X because my Verizon had a deal going and I wanted the better camera. No learning curve, because your phone copies exactly onto the new one. I like that it’s a little bigger and the camera is nice, though I find you have to be more careful to keep it still so it isn’t blurry.

Such a cute picture rebeccabunch!! Love it. 💕 Portrait mode was almost what made me want to switch to an iPhone, it's so cool! Luckily the latest version of the Galaxy finally has their own too. I've been playing with it all week since I got my new phone.
