Just ordered E's baby announcement cards. I will get them tomorrow. I need to get them out asap or certain family members will be harassing my parents and me.

I forgot my phone today and then took E for a haircut after school. We just got a trim and talked about growing it out so he can donate it for a wig. I think it just needs another inch.

So I was supposed to fly to California for 2 weeks late August. Well my dad has changed his plans and wants to extend his Hawaii trip for a month (previously 2weeks). Apparently the timeshare is stupid cheap due to the volcano. He invited us to go with them. It's a 5-6hr flight to get from here to LA then another 7hrs to get to Hawaii. Would it be worth it for free tickets and free hotel? Would it be relaxing with kid? They will be help out but it isn't like hanging at their house and chilling with multiple care. There is the possibility of splitting up the flights but that might be worse.
Tldr free tickets to Hawaii but long flights and mucho inconvenient. Do I suck it up and go?

E is a good kid and if I just had Atticus to worry about, I would do it. I think this age is pretty fun. Although we've never flown, I would do it with him with little hesitation. |

Hi hi - picked up both kids at 3 for N's last transition day..she did great and the teachers appear to be smitten with her😍. We stopped by 7-11 and got slurpees and now some Daniel tiger for a bit. Maybe we will hit the pool if MH can leave early. Ah to get home before 6 every day, this is nice! Who wouldn't be smitten with her!? She's adorable! |

Sunny41 I would definitely go. O has been great on all our vacations. This really is a great age for traveling. Also to answer your other question, work is ok but busy. I was just asked to help with a last minute grant and I’ve also been asked to answer to some unfavorable numbers that came from this past school year. Fun.

What an awesome experience! Hawaii is stupid expensive to get to. Just load up on movies. If you were flying with a one year old I'd hesitate for a minute...but still go. |

Thanks ladies. I especially appreciate the east coasters chiming in. I did some looking and it's 2 5.5hr flights. At least I can drink on the Hawaiian leg. Also there is an volcano and air quality is a concern

Sunny41 I'd already have the tickets in hand Sunny41! My mom went to Hawaii for 2 weeks earlier this year and said it was great, beautiful, but they wouldn't go again because of the expense once you get there.

I don't know why I am hesitating so much! I guess it's because MH leaves Saturday for a month and I have to deal with the kid alone for 30days. Add in another trip and it is just overwhelming to think about. Really I just want to get away with mh and no kids

I would totally go Sunny41! I went in 2010 (pre child) when MH had a work detail there. His tix were paid for by work. My tix were gifted airline miles from my BIL who had a gazillion miles he would never use. Then the hotel was paid for by MH’s work for 5 days (length of the detail). Then we extended another 5 days out of our own pocket. It can be super expensive for a trip there. So I’d def take advantage of the opportunity for a cheap vaca! And Hawaii is beautiful!! |

Go and have fun in Hawaii. I think this is a great age for travel! B loves flying and talks about going to Hawaii all the time, he would be in heaven.
