When is your due date? How far along are you? 09/17 ; 30 weeks
How big is baby? A motorcycle helmet, a platypus minus the tail?
Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Blue
Any Upcoming Appointments? This morning, next appointment on 7/23. He said everything looked good and asked if I wanted to be induced. While not going much over 40 weeks sounds very tempting, the possibility of another shitty induction experience doesn't sound that great. We're tabling that discussion for now.
Symptoms: Tired and I've started getting back pain when I do too much.
Milestones: Only 10-ish weeks left.
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? We got DS's room mostly done over the weekend which included moving the glider form DD's room to DS's room. She sobbed when she noticed (even though we've talked about it). I may have felt really guilty and rearranged her room to put in a play tent and filled it with throw pillows and blankets.

ftwr we moved the glider out of our dd's room awhile ago into the baby's room, which she was fine with, but if I sit in the chair she totally loses her shit. Not sure how that's going to go when I'm in it for several hours a day... mirabelle I just ordered from Target last night too! I pretty much just got the huge boxes of wipes but for essentially 30% off I thought I better take advantage. chriskoo I used to get horrible sciatic pain and saw some chiropractors for it. The best exercise for me was standing sideways with one hand on a wall then to bring my leg up bent at the knee until my thigh was parallel to the floor and hold it for a few seconds, then do the opposite and bring my leg back behind me. (I'll see if I can find a link to explain it better) but I didn't that exercise every hour or so at work or whenever I was and it seemed to at least help me get through the day.

Not sure how that's going to go when I'm in it for several hours a day... Hopefully your DD will adjust well. I felt terrible. It's been in her room for 6 years and we've read in it nightly for pretty much that entire time. Although she hasn't been able to sit on my lap for quite a while so we've been reading in her bed. It's definitely a reminder that she's very worried about what life will be like when DS arrives.

chriskoo feel free to ignore this advice as you probably have already tried it in professional care, but we have a foam roller that Iāve been using for leg pain. If you have access to a foam roller and have not considered it, it may be worth a try. There are several YouTube videos that go over precise usage for sciatica pain. The roller has been great for me because I can control the firmness and pressure being applied to a specific area. Either way I hope you find something to relieve your pain.

ftwr the glider situation is what I was afraid of too so I just bought another one second hand! We still use DS's glider every day. When I was first thinking about it and thought I might take it out, I was totally planning to do the same with a tent or bean bag chair reading area - I think that's a great idea! chriskoo I'm sorry you're in so much pain and that nothing is helping so far. I hope the couple recommendations here help you find a little relief!

I'm also trying to figure out what to replace the glider in DD's room with. I'm thinking either a comfy chair or some kind for her or a small couch. We don't read in it anymore, I just sit on her bed at bedtime, but she likes to sit in it and rock and uses it to reach the switch for her cloud wall lamp. Our plan is to re-do her room and the spare room for the nursery at the same time, and introduce the new furniture and move her crib out (she's currently sleeping in her crib converted to a toddler bed).

I appear to have reached the point where my feet are going to start swelling every day. Early July is when it happened with DS and I was due early September, so I'm a couple weeks ahead this time (early July again, due late mid-September).

My first pregnancy was due 11/18, I'm due 10/30 this time and swelling is starting a few weeks earlier than it did last time. This hot weather sucks

I am amazed I haven't had much swelling, I just get a little in my fingers off and on. I can't remember when it started with B, I think maybe just the last month/6 weeks.

chriskoo are you familiar with pigeon pose? My mom is a yoga instructor and swears by it for sciatic pain. I can barely get into this position right now but it does seem to help.

getdownplease chriskoo we just did pigeon pose last week in my prenatal yoga class, but we sat on bolsters to modify it a little. I found it a bit more awkward to get into the position with the bolster as I've never tried it that way before, but it did lessen the severity of the pose by raising the hips a little. You could try it like that if regular pigeon on the floor is too much!

30 week check-up done. Super quick as expected although I was a bit worried since it was with the on-call (for deliveries) OB. Thankfully no one was pushing out a baby at that time. Measuring right on track, HB sounded good. I got my prescription for my breast pump too. My insurance allows you to order it any time after 28 weeks so I can get that taken care of now.
I scheduled my next 3 appointments which was nice since they had a hard time scheduling the one this week (hence the on-call OB) and in 2 weeks I have to go to a different office to not be scheduled with the on-call. So 32, 34, and 36 weeks are scheduled. Once I get to 36 weeks I start weekly check-ups and I'm pretty sure they said I could schedule those when I'm in the office in 2 weeks.
