I hope they can get it fixed notelsie! We didn't stay up for fireworks with DD last night. We still happily live that 7pm bedtime life. I was however not amused with the people in the neighborhood setting some off all night. I've finally started not being tired all day, but if I do to much, like the BBQ we hosted yesterday and the concert I was at late the night before, I am exhausted the next day.

Today has been insane. We paid an arm and a leg, but we finally have air! Now that I know we have a home warranty we are going to see about getting the system replaced. It’s like 25 years old, and it has a leak.. not sure how long it’s been contributing to today’s issue.
Please please please just let us have a new system for a small fee. I don’t want to have to worry about it anymore.

notelsie I hope the warranty covers a new unit! I am glad it’s fixed for now though!

notelsie, I'm so glad your a/c is fixed for now. I had to take my girls to a birthday party at a bowling alley last weekend when it was close to 100 here and their a/c was out. I thought I was going to pass out, it was so miserable. This is truly the worst summer to be without air. I'm back at work today after the last three days off and my schedule is so messed up. I keep thinking it's Monday.

This fetus has reversed my love for avocados. How rude.

Another attack of Braxton Hicks tonight. I don’t remember them at all with DD. They are really not comfortable! And why at 17 weeks? There’s no reason to practice right now. Anyone else get them this early? Me! Me! I was wondering if it was normal! And they hurt like a son-of-a-gun

This fetus has reversed my love for avocados. How rude. This is unacceptable. I am currently spiraling on various menus for dinner options tonight. I’ve looked at sushi, pizza, and fancy salads. I also just ate a lunchable, so clearly my tastes are very fancy lately.

Saw my OB yesterday. She seemed unconcerned by tenderness to the left of my uterus, but said to call anytime, if needed. I feel like this sporadic pain / left sided back ache are what’s behind the Braxton Hicks. She thinks it could be a squished colon, so I’ve been taking Colace to try to help anything that needs help. I feel like I’m gonna end up taking the stuff until the kid vacates the premises. It’s only the size of a chipmunk, for goodness sakes. Let’s save the dramatics and the squishing for a bit.

I shall also commiserate quijibo. I feel like it’s too early for me to be this uncomfortable. I have a lot of lower belly pain, BH, and don’t get me started on the all-day indigestion no matter what/how I eat. It’s all glamour over here!

We were on vacation in California for a week and then started potty training DS on Friday. I feel like I have totally lost track of time. He is doing really well and I am just waiting for it to go to hell.
We did 2 days of naked and then moved to underwear today and had zero accidents.
I have started to feel kind of yucky at night again, hoping it will go away.

Crying in bed because it feels like the left side of my body has been hit by a truck and my doctors are like... you’re fine. I don’t feel fine. I feel miserable. Several days of a constant ache in my back / side and abdominal tenderness. I’m over it. What the hell is causing this pain and how do we make it stop? Because the ordered heating pad and Tylenol aren’t doing jack. I can’t possibly drink anymore water and I’ve done the absolute minimum all weekend.
Sorry for the frustrated rant. I’m such a sad panda. I feel like no one is listening to me. If my copay for the ER wasn’t $350, I’d just show up until they tested SOMETHING.

quijiboI'm so sorry you are hurting so much. That sounds absolutely terrible and worse when no one seems to want to help. I hope you get some relief soon. Possible pinched nerve?

I would call a few and ask if they are familiar with chiropractic care during pregnancy first but I think that one might be able to help more than a regular MD at this point. I’m so sorry you are feeling bad. I was in terrible pain after my car accident when I was PG with DS2 but I knew the reasons for my pain. It sucks to not know what’s going on.

expatmama11 sarcaztic10 I’m leaving for a work trip tomorrow. Won’t be back until Friday. If still not better when I return, I’m thinking a massage appointment is in order and/or reach out to a chiropractor. Neither can hurt at this point. My anxiety wants to yell, “Kidney tumor!” Trying to shut that up with a, “How about we try a massage, crazy lady.”

quijibo could it be a kidney stone? I’ve never had one before, just throwing that out there.

DS2 came into contact with cross contaminated food at a supposedly allergy friendly place over the weekend and had a reaction. He broke out in hives and threw everything up. Luckily we were able to get Benedryl in him quickly and control to reaction but it sucks that we have to mark that place off our list of ok places to eat when out. He is allergic to eggs so I know it’s hard to avoid but it just sucks because this was supposed to be an allergy friendly place.
Pretty soon I will give up eggs and dairy to keep it out of my breast milk for this kid like I did with DS2. All of my kids have allergies and have to carry epi-pens and I hate that for them.

I’m sorry your in so much pain quijibo. I really hope you can figure out what’s causing it and get yourself feeling better soon. Obligatory fuck the US health care system and the ridiculous cost of care. I am having some horrible lower back pain and cramping today too and it’s sucks. This is by far my most difficult pregnancy. sarcaztic10 food allergies are so scary. My kids have so far been spared but my H is super allergic to all nuts and he isn’t the most careful. We had an incident at an event a few years ago that landed him in the ER due to anaphylaxis after we specifically asked about the pretense of nuts and were told we were safe. I cannot even imagine that happening to my kids because they are obviously less capable of getting themselves help if needed. I’m glad you were able to get it under control though and I hope you can be spared any more instances.

Gah the crazy heartburn/reflux is back. Luckily I have a routine dr appt tomorrow anyway. Have any of you tried something stronger than extra-strength Zantac? Might ask my doctor for something prescription-strength. Tagging Dramaphile and maybe Dr. Cox? I can’t remember who else struggles with this.

Had the most stereotypical pregnant night, stood in the kitchen eating a pickle and then followed it up by eating an ice cream cone and a kit kat bar.

I got approval from my doctor to take prevacid during my last pregnancy, but I had a pre-preg history of acid reflux and esophagitis, so I'm not sure what they would allow for you. PPIs (prevacid, nexium, prilosec) are category B drugs, so mostly safe. But they would definitely do a better job of preventing than Zantac.

So, get this BS. H has tried to get 2 different primary care docs here to refer him for a vasectomy and neither will do it for religious reasons! I am so.... just... there are no words for how angry and just flummoxed I am. Like we have legit reasons for getting it done but they are reluctant to refer him for one!
