Congrats on the baby boy, Dr. Cox! My A/S was today too. We confirmed that it’s a girl, which we already knew from the genetic testing in first tri. But, the ultrasound tech was telling us they saw someone last week whose genetic testing came back as a boy and the ultrasound showed it’s a girl! We lucked into the fact that this is our second girl and the seasons line up almost exactly - like their due dates are within 3 weeks. Glad we saved everything too! But, I may need to do some bonus baby clothes shopping, just for fun... That would freak me right out.. I mean genetic testing shows there is a Y in there somewhere right?!

Guys. Allow me to vent. An immediate family member knowingly & intentionally planned their wedding for when I will be 37 wks pregnant, at a location 12 hours away. I’m not offended at all bc I certainly don’t want anyone to plan their event around me. Buuuuuut now they’re so angry at me that I said I won’t be able to attend. Like it’s a choice I have!

I know, I’m confused about it too. I think they said the sex is 99% accurate if they say it’s a boy and 97% if they say it’s a girl, so... there’s a small margin of error in there either way but I don’t get how it works.

Same thing happened to a friend. Blood test said girl. Definitely was a boy.

summerrain that’s so difficult. What breeds are they? They seem to get plenty of exercise so I am not sure that any more would be helpful. I wonder if you could troubleshoot with a trainer or behaviorist in your area. One of my dogs can get into moods and act out to get attention. I try to just give him positive attention when he is being good and if he acts up he gets a “bad dog” and sent outside to think about his decisions (provided it’s nice outside). He also acts out if he doesn’t get enough oral stimulation or activities he has to think about so we have slow feed bowls to rotate and a variety of chews and antlers and stuff. Not sure if your dogs are orally fixated like that or not.

charlotte yeah I’m side eyeing them. Like you can just travel that far at 37 weeks and be totally cool with it. I would just say you can ask your OB their opinion then a couple days later just say sorry OB said no. I used that exact excuse when I had DS1 to get out of an out of state baby shower that my MIL was throwing when I was 30+ weeks PG. It would have involved a plane ride and then staying with them.

Thanks Dr. Cox and sarcaztic10. I have one cavalier King Charles spaniel and the other is half cavalier and half cocker spaniel. I do think attention is part of the problem. Also, just old and grouchy assholes. I just need them to go back to being lazy old dogs instead of what’s happening now.

Another attack of Braxton Hicks tonight. I don’t remember them at all with DD. They are really not comfortable! And why at 17 weeks? There’s no reason to practice right now. Anyone else get them this early?

Anyone else get them this early? I’m pretty sure mine started around then this time too. Everyone keeps telling me it’s normal. I just sit down, elevate my feet, and try to drink some water. Freaking BH *sigh*. Freaks me out. But it has been over a month now and I’m still fine. Hopefully that’s reassuring.

Anyone else doing online shopping today? I’m about to pull the trigger on the crib thanks to a 20% off today, I’m just trying to decide what other things I might need to go along with it. I have changed my mind a ton on the room design so I’m trying not to buy decor yet, but it’s so hard to resist!

I’m hoping to get our infant car seat on Amazon’s Prime Day, which I think is July 19th! On prime day 2015 I got the diono car seat and jogging stroller that we use for DS. I hope they’ll have good deals/options again this year.

Yes charlotte! I think my infant seat will be on the anniversary sale next week so I’m excited for that and prime day too. My credit card might not be quite as excited 😬.

Anyone else get them this early? Yes! I got them more around 20 weeks, but still early. And then with ds2 I'd get them super regularly later on. Sometimes every 8 minutes! Very annoying.

charlotte LOL @ them being offended that a 37 week pregnant lady can’t travel 12 hours. Like seriously? Have they ever met a pregnant person? Ridiculous.

I will hopefully get some more big ticket items checked off my list with prime day and Nordstrom’s anniversary sale then I won’t buy anything smaller until much closer.

It’s so loud from people blowing things up that DD is officially sleeping in our bed tonight. Tried to put her down three times. After the third time resulted in tears, we threw in the towel.
Independence Day needs to not be on a Wednesday. Work tomorrow is going to suuuuuuck.

My house is so hot.. my AC isn’t keeping up with the temps here. I’m at the point where I’m only in panties and it’s still not enough. I’m dizzy and feeling awrul, but I can’t sleep...
I may have to lie in a cold bath.

Crap. I just woke up and it’s only come down 2 degrees. We are going to have to call to have the AC serviced. I can’t wear clothes and I’m overheating.. this is going to be interesting. Hopefully I can sleep some more

notelsie our brand new HVAC unit isn’t keeping up with the temps in this weather either. We have it set for 75 during the day and 72 at night and it doesn’t actually achieve 72 until very late at night. Temps have been hovering at around 100 degrees here with heat indexes of 110 or so. I read that most residential A/C units are only equipped to cool 20 degrees lower than the outside temp and that is max efficiency and a perfect unit and insulated house. I hope you get your A/C fixed or are able to get it tuned up and working better!

Independence Day needs to not be on a Wednesday. Work tomorrow is going to suuuuuuck. My DS has been obsessed with fireworks with the 4th. On Tuesday he woke up because a ton of neighbors had them, and we let him watch them for a bit from the window and he loved them. Last night we let him stay up late so he could see fireflies at my parents' since their lot borders on woods, which he loved, and then we were going to get home real quick and watch fireworks on the deck. He lost it - probably how loud they were outside, and also being tired because it was so much later than normal bedtime, and wound up falling asleep in our bed between 10:30 and 11. He was up promptly at 6:30. I'm so tired, but allllllmost wish I hadn't taken today off because H is working - and now I have a super tired three year old to deal with all day. I really hope he naps today, otherwise I'm not sure how we're getting through the day.

notelsie, I hope you're able to get your AC working better! This heat and humidity has made me not feel well either lately - I'm scrapping our plans to go to a farm event today in favor of going to Target for some craft supplies to stay inside. I'm so glad at least today is supposed to be the last day of it being really bad for us, so I hope you get relief soon too!

DS loved fireworks last year, so I kept him up late and took him out again this year. He covered his ears, hid, and asked to go home. Should have just stayed home & put him to bed at the regular time lol.

That’s awful, I’m sorry Ours usually does “ok” during the day, and then at night when it cools off outside it generally goes back down to a little over what we have it set to.. but last night around midnight the house was 1 degree under outside, and then a few hours later had only come down one more degree. Around 4:30 it felt like it was working a little better. I’ll have to check what it is at now, but someone definitely has to come look at it.
