Oh no, inthekitty! I thought you were in contract for the horsey house. Is it contingent on the sale of your current house? Ugh!!!

Cute little pig trtlcrzy. I guinea pig sat the class pets for a month over summer vacation in 4th grade. They were skittish and stinky little buggers. I was a huge animal lover as a kid and we had rabbits, cats, frogs, fish, hamsters, rats. (I was very deprived and never had a dog.) As an adult as much as I want all the animals it's so much work to keep up with. If the girls are serious about it I might let them get rats when they are middle school aged and can handle most of the maintenance. Rats are my favorite of the little varmints by far. But I no longer want the zoo I used to long for.

Ugh inthekitty I'm sorry, what a nightmare to deal with. I'll be pleasantly surprised if she deals with his concerns in a business-like manner, sounds like it's time to pull the plug if not. Definitely. I told MH we need to act quickly with tomorrow being a holiday. He agreed and will stop by the office to inquire with her boss about another agent before the kids have taekwondo this evening.

I love the bathroom, flamingo ! I didn't think the before was bad until I saw the after, to be honest. It reminds me that I REALLY want to repaint our powder room and guest bath. It's all part of my plan to slowly repaint the entire house in more neutral hues. Ha! I mean, yeah, could we have lived with it? Sure, we have for the past year. And the stuff from the kids' bath in FL technically went (artwork and rug) so I just kind of put everything in and ignored it for 12 months. I think what made it truly bad, that is hard to capture in photos, is the layout of the space. There is a toilet alcove b/n the entry door and the wall with the tub, so that was more striped wall, plus the soffit over the sinks, plus a cabinet over the toilet. Just felt super choppy and the eye just didn't know where to focus.

lahdeedah I'm so sorry for your loss. That's wonderful that she lived long enough to see her great-grandchildren, but always hard to lose a grandparent regardless. Hugs to y'all. joelies Happy anniversary and have a great trip! FWIW, I think you're doing the right thing by going on vacation. I am a big believer in 'marriage first', although I know it's hard when we're in the trenches with the littles. Hopefully this will be a chance for you and your H to unwind, recharge, and reconnect.

Oh no, inthekitty ! I thought you were in contract for the horsey house. Is it contingent on the sale of your current house? Ugh!!! It's contingent. We're technically in escrow but they can accept other offers and we'd have to respond within 5 days to remove the contingency. We're also running out of time for the contingency period. Nothing else has come through for the sellers so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We have options to remove the contingency and move forward for other financial options, but none are desirable. We were really hoping to stick with a VA loan. Several homes in the price range of ours went for sale a day after ours did. It really sucks because if they had accepted our offer the first time around a week earlier on the market might have really made a difference because we would have been the only house for some people in our neighborhood. No one seems to have a strong interest in our house which I don't get because it's a perfect starter home for a family or people who intend to have a family. It's been insanely stressful. I've never sold a house before and the realtor led us to believe it would sell instantly which adds to the stress every day we don't get an offer. I know it will sell in time, but it might be too late for us to do a VA loan.

joelies happy anniversary! I know it's hard when there's pull between marriage and kids and time is limited. I hope you and your H really enjoy your time together and are able to connect more.

So I’m still in a good amount of pain so I called me Dr and he is calling in something For nerve pain since that’s what we think it is. Anyway he tells me he wants to see me in two weeks and repeat a CT scan to check on the lymph node. I asked him why since the node was in the mass and he tells me he’s not convinced that was the suspicious node and wants to double check. I’m annoyed that the PA didn’t tell me this yesterday but I guess it’s good to be thorough. Also it’s taken CVS two hours to fill this prescription. Don’t they know I need an afternoon nap!?

So I managed to forget a baggy of cherries in my backpack for several days. They are all smashed up in the bottom of my workbag and it smells like I spilled a bottle of wine in there. People must think I'm the office wino.

Hi all.
I had yesterday off and I cleaned the house in the morning while MH took the kids on a long bike ride, I even had time to mop, SCORE!!! since I usually do it after the kids are in bed, the house felt so clean. We relaxed all afternoon and it was much needed, had a show on while the kids rediscovered their inside basement toys, B even watched season 4 of Paw Patrol. Went for a family bike ride after dinner and the kids went to bed easily. All in all a good, chill day.
Today back and work, and in between work I'm prepping for a course I've got Friday and Monday.

All- My cats litter box is in our basement. This is also where my sister will sleep when she visits. Any tips on how to make the basement smell less like litter? I'm trying white vinegar and activated charcoal but looking to really make it smell fresh without overpowering with scents Dump out all the litter in there now, clean the box completely, dust baking soda on the bottom, add in litter, scoop multiple times a day, vacuum around the litter box for litter bits, open windows, add a candle (EO's) to air it out before she comes, after each scoop spray febreeze or something like that. I also use pine litter as opposed to the clay stuff and find it better for smells.

A long time ago I switched to more natural/less dusty litter options than clay. Now we use World's Best Cat Litter and it's something like smashed acorns or something like that. For a while we used stuff that was basically smashed up corn cobs. One of our cats liked eating that litter. He was indeed a special little guy.

And yes, I’ve tried the wheat and corn and Pete refused, and i’m pretty sure it’s cause it smells like food.

So because X freaks out the minute he sets foot in a doctor's office, the hearing test was not successful. He cried the whole time. The audiologist told us, "just work with him."
No shit, Einstein. I've been entertaining him in your waiting room for an hour and I'm doing everything in my power to calm him down but he's not having it. You think I want to repeat this process any more than necessary?
Anyway. Surgery is still on for next Wednesday. We get to the surgery center at 5:30 and surgery is at 7:30.
