I’m wavering on what I want to do. I think we are just taking a couple months off and trying on our own for now and then I will go back to the RE and try clomid. Still trying to get some weight off to see if that will do it. I think this cyst is messing with my OPKs. They are darker than usual just like last cycle. I did start temping again.

I know how overwhelming the process seems to get started. One day at a time...one shot at a time! Nothing much to report here. I started Follistim on Sunday, so I will do that nightly through Thursday. My US is on Friday afternoon. I’m really hoping I get to trigger this cycle. I do not like cancelling cycles!

Cancelling cycles sounds horrible, FX things work out this cycle! Not using a trigger shot with TI but have with our 3 IUIs. I ovulate on my own and our timing is usually great just using the Femara to give us more chances each cycle.

orangehibiscus I have taken my temp three mornings and gottenthe same exact temp each morning. I took it again after I’d been up for awhile just to make sure it would give a different temp and it gave me a lower temp! So yea, off to a great start with that 🤔

So yea, off to a great start with that 🤔 Are you checking your temp right away or turning off your BBT and checking later? Mine will get stuck on the same temp but really it's just not saving that mornings temp and instead is reverting to a previously saved temp. Annoying, but taking my temp few times to sort of reset it seems to work.

I think replacing the battery can help with the same temp issue. I know you’re not supposed to change batteries during a cycle, but I would think you’re early enough that it should be ok. You could try vaginal temping as well.

charliefox I do look at it when I take it but sometimes I don’t remember and check again when I’m fully awake. So far it’s been the same both times. orangehibiscus I should probably replace the battery. I’ve never replaced it and I’ve had the thermometer for probably 3 years. I did get a different temp this morning. I’m just going to see what happens. Maybe change the battery this weekend. Happy 4th of July, ladies!!

Hi! I figured I'd jump in here since the SAIF looks deserted. I just got the call to trigger tonight for an IUI Saturday morning.

Welcome grover! Good luck Saturday! What meds are you doing? How many follies? Thanks orangehibiscus I’m sort of wary of the OPKs after last cycle and wondering if I’m reading them right. I’m hoping tomorrow’s is even darker so I can be sure.

I got another opk that was basically identical today. Maybe a smidge lighter so I don’t think I’m really going to o yet. Bummer. At least I’m temping so I might get more information? I don’t know what I was expecting.

Hmm...I wonder why your OPKs are still/staying that dark obscureference. Is it the cyst?? AFM... I had my US today, and I have 2 follicles right next to each other on my right ovary. Both of them are big enough, so I get to trigger tonight! I’m so relieved I didn’t have to cancel this cycle.

Question about trigger shot...
I know the trigger shot forces O, but does it force O of all mature follicles or could some follicles remain despite the trigger shot? I don’t typically feel O pain when I O on my own, but I do with Follistim cycles.
I triggered on Friday at 8pm. Yesterday, I had left-sided pain and rectal pain (O sign for me). I didn’t really feel much from the right side though. I only have a right tube, so I need to O the right side follicles to have a chance this cycle. I emailed my RE’s nurse, and I’m waiting for a reply back. I just wanted to see if anyone here knew. I’m probably overthinking this though!

orangehibiscus I don’t know for sure. I think the trigger should make all the mature follicles release. I get O pain regularly and it’s more generalized abdominal pain rather than one side or the other. So maybe you released an egg from the left as well?

I really hope I did ovulate both follicles off the right side! My RE’s nurse said the trigger shot is like a shotgun, and it makes even immature follicles release.

*Hi all!* I hope it’s okay I jumped on this thread. I’m new to both message boards and IUI;) My husband and I have been trying for over a year. Today was our first IUI after a round of Femara with a trigger shot. I went in very hopeful... we waited for a while after my husband gave his sample. Then the nurse came out and said “sorry the lab tech is brand new!” She was super sweet but mayybeee didnt need to know that one! Lol. Anyways the doctor actually told us that he was going to go through with the procedure but said he didn’t think it would be successful given my husbands low counts. He recommends IVF next. This is all very overwhelming. Thanks for reading/listening and you all are amazing warriors!!
Also: Is anyone else just real moody on these medications?? I can’t tell if it’s the meds, the situation, or just me being emotional that makes me tear at the drop of a hat!

lakesidelady45Welcome and I hope your stay in IF is short I’m over in IVF land now, but I like to pop in to cheer on everyone. Hopefully your IUI will be successful, but if you end up going with IVF, just take it one day at a time. It is a lot to take in. And yes, my emotions can be all over the place. It might be the stress, but I always blame “the hormones”.
