Hey girls heeeyyyy,
So I'm back and doing another round of IVF (our second full round). This time around, I'm taking Menopur for the first time.
My question: has anyone NOT had it sting? I took my first dose tonight (150 IU), and I felt it sting a little bit while injecting, but it wasn't bad at all. Is it possible it will get worse with the next week? Is something wrong with me? Is my body fucking up in more ways? Lol. I was expecting turrible stinging, but 'twas not the case. 🤔

Menopur never stung for me and my ovaries responded to it just fine. Maybe you’re just one of the lucky ones it doesn’t sting for. Good luck!!

I have no advice on the Menopur ♪♫choppinbroccoli♫♪. I just wanted to say that I have absolutely everything crossed for you! I hope you have an amazing response to the meds and that you get a fantastic number of eggs at ER.

It stung for me when it was sub-q, but not when my RE had me do it in the deltoid. I don’t think there’s anything to worry about if it isn’t terrible, just count yourself lucky that you have one less discomfort with the process!

Also, the first dose was the worst one for me and it was easier as the week (s?) went on.
I admittedly have a terrible memory, but I do tend to remember things that were unpleasant.

Mine stung but I was in the max max dose. Some days were better than others and I had 4 different people administer my doses so I definitely noticed differences in the way it felt depending on the injector’s style.

Hey friend, just wanted to offer my experience. I iced the injection spot beforehand and I'd say had about a 50% chance of it not stinging. Some days I remember it was easy peasy and sometimes I could only make it a quarter of the way through the injection before stopping to take a breather.
*edit* I didn't notice it getting worse as the week went on or anything. Literal crap shoot.
This goes without saying but I hope beyond hope that this IVF round is successful.

It stung a little for me, but it wasn't bad. I think it was more because I had done gonal-f before and that one I didn't feel at all, so in comparison it stung but it wasn't actually that bad. I never considered icing it or has to take a breather or anything. Of course, I'm still here, so do with that what you will 😉

Thanks for all of the anecdotes! I'm just one of the lucky ones when it comes to Menopur pain.
I'm glad to see so many of you come through here, though. I miss the usual traffic.

Will you be doing them yourself, or will someone else be administering them? I can hardly feel it when my husband does them. He goes really slow once the needle is in.
