Sorry k that is ridiculous. They must know that people plan for their appointments by taking time off work etc. And how did they not know they weren’t seeing anyone that day when they made the appointment in the first place??? Plus...is Thursday even a holiday? How can they justify cancelling an appointment on a day that's not a holiday?

I'd be really annoyed by that too, k. That seems very unprofessional.

@amc I hope your appointment and ultrasound goes well today. Sending lots of positive vibes your way! k I'd be annoyed too. That seems ridiculous. I'd ask to speak with the office manager. I marked being 6 weeks today by throwing for the first time this morning so that was fun. Today is my Friday though so I'm trying to focus on that.

tngrl3 This was me! It was like my body went "oh 6 weeks eh? Time to start throwing up every day". I have to shower way before breakfast now or I throw up in the shower...which is just gross.

k sorry about your Dr office. I would be really pissed. It's already so stressful waiting as it is not too mention trying to schedule the time to go.

k That’s ridiculous that there’s so many doctors and no one will see you. Especially when you had an appointment. You have every right to be frustrated. Maybe if you make another phone call tomorrow and talk to someone different they’ll be more willing to work with you and can squeeze you in?

SO had a lovely meal cooked when I got home from work and it was all I could do to force down a few bites while fighting back the nausea. All I could manage yesterday was toast and cucumbers and only because I thought I would pass out if I didn't eat. Then I was up all night trying not to throw up. I have to find something small I can snack on during the day so I don't eat close to bed time. If anyone finds any non nausea inducing snacks that are gluten free let me know! The internet suggested bananas, rice, toast and apple sauce. Toast yes. The rest nope nope and nope.

sammysam while not necessarily traditional snack foods, potato based things have helped tame nausea for me in past pregnancies. Mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, and tator tots were some of my go tos. They are bland but fairly calorie dense. For me paring protein with the carbs helped too. Like add PB on your toast. Rice cakes are also an easy snack.

I'm also having a lot of nausea, but it gets better when I eat. I'm also having intense hunger pangs in between bouts of nausea. Basically I'm eating nonstop to try to feel better. I'm pretty sure I will gain weight during 1st tri this time around. Oh well. I am counting down the weeks to Week 14, when I started feeling better last time.

I'll try this today. And potatoes sound great. I just have to motivate myself to cook some.

I had my intake appointment this afternoon which was just pee in a cup and a blood draw, which took 3 attempts. I'm not an easy stick though so not their fault. My US is scheduled for Friday July 13th.

Guyzz!!! I saw Baby L today! (That's what we're calling LO).
I'm 5+1 and measuring right on, we saw a 6.4mm gestational sac and 1.8mm yolk sac. Now a long slog until a fetal pole and *possibly* hb next Friday!
DH could see the screen long before I could, I was trying to read his face but couldn't, wished he'd just blurt out "Yes there's something there!" I was so afraid of nothing being there.
Pee tests haven't really changed over the last 4 days so I got myself all nervous, also the amount of boob pain fluctuates (but I think that's due to how many/fast walks I take), but this is very reassuring...I was praying that there'd be a yolk sac for reassurance because there isn't always at this date. The NP said "No reason to think this one will not work out." Hanging on to that.

@ tnrgrl3 I’m one of those unlucky people who gets stuck multiple times too. Half the time they end up using a vein from my hand 😕 yay for a scheduled US, it’s always nice to have that date to look forward to. sammysam & notagoddess I’m unfortunately the same boat. I’ve been vomiting the past 3 mornings and am nauseous all day. Tuna has been one thing I’ve wanted (my cravings are super weird) along with rice. Pirate booties are great btw, we get them at Trader Joe’s.

Today I crossed "puking in my backyard" off my pregnancy bucket list. It happens at least once every pregnancy. 😂 😬. I almost puked on the beach a few times today. seltzer bubbles.

Anyone else having trouble drinking carbonated beverages? Seems like such a weird symptom. I normally drink all the seltzer and now it just makes me want to puke.

I've given up on all beverages except water and a few select herbal teas. I tried La Croix last pregnancy (some people on my BMB were swearing by it helping) and it made me feel worse. I drank it during my first two, and I’ll probably keep drinking it bc sometimes regular water sounds gross, but I need to drink it super slowly I guess. Coke has tasted so good at the beach this week too 😬. I don’t usually drink pop.

I can't do carbonated stuff while pregnant normally but there were a few weeks with DD where literally the only thing I could keep down was coke. It took me forever to find the decaf kind but it was wonderful. Right now I'm on plain milk and water. I bought some juice today to try t mix in with water just to get some kind of nutrients since food has now become my enemy...but so far it's making me feel worse. All I can eat right now is toast, eggs, peaches and plums. I threw up twice during our staff luncheon today after trying to eat salad and potatoes. It smelled so good. My stomach didn't end up agreeing.

sunshiney I'm so so thrilled for you!!! I'm so glad it went so well:) Don't worry about pee sticks. At a certain point they stop getting darker anways. And boob pain comes and goes. Mine killed me during the TWW, then totally went away (I thought AF was coming) then came back about a week later, and now fluctuates day to day from horrible to almost non existent. I remember being at work while pregnant with DD and poking at my boobs every day to see if they still hurt. Even then some days I could barely feel it at all. Yay for the sac and yolk! Can't wait until you can see that heartbeat! I'm super nervous for my us in about a week and a half but hoping it goes as well as yours!

I have to let it sit and get flat first. With DD I got to a point in first tri that I could not drink water and all I wanted was Diet Dr. Pepper. From a fountain at one particular McDonald's!

Yesterday I wanted a spinach and broccoli calzone. When I asked if he wanted to share, he was like, sure but let's get a stromboli instead, I don't like ricotta. I was like, You have forgotten I'm pregnant. There's 2/3 of a stromboli and 2/3 of a calzone in the fridge this morning.
