J is starting to get really bad cradle cap. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with it? I know it won’t hurt him, so I’m planning on just talking to his pediatrician at his next appointment. I just didn’t know if there’s anything I should be doing about it until then. Rub some olive oil on his scalp about 15 min before bath after washing use a hard bristle brush and massage in circular motion then comb out the flakes with a fine comb. You can also use a little head and shoulders (since cc is just baby dandruff), but you have to be super careful not to get it in the eyes

L had a mild case and I just sort of let it run its course. I did use a soft bristled bush to massage his scalp when I washed his hair and that seemed to help loosen the scales. A friend of mine suggested using coconut oil and letting it sit on the scalp for a bit and then wash off at bath time. L’s ended up clearing up soon after that so I never got to try it.

re: cradle cap - coconut oil worked great for us. i’m sure olive oil would work the same way. ftc: it was oddly satisfying to it off. snowmoon i also didn’t get a period until about 13 months pp with dd1 and i’m also going to feel cheated if it shows up before then! i’m glad that i’m not going crazy with feeling like i’m pmsing though. i don’t remember this at all

B is getting cradle cap too. I might try to get it off tomorrow during bathtime.
He also still really really hates tummy time. Anyone else’s baby hate it? He tolerates it on my chest but not on the floor. And he’s not lifting his head to 45 degrees on the floor. He just leaves his head down and screams. I know I don’t do it enough but I just feel bad for the poor kid.

I also recommend using olive oil or coconut oil. I have also used plain old baby oil. Also, I use Mustela. Like head and shoulders you need to be careful to not get in babies eyes. We still have some scales but I haven’t been consistent with using the oil and brushing and combing the scales off.

leatherpants L hates tummy time too. He screams. I have a couple tummy time pillow things to use with him but we have been gone so much that tummy time inconsistently happens here too.

anyone still waiting for first pp period feel like they are cycling without actually getting period? is this a thing? my face broke out like crazy this week, i was craving chocolate/crap, and super cranky. i feel great today now though and not as much of a greaseball. Yep. I didn’t get my first pp period until 10 months with DS1 but still had irregular pms type cycles. Hormones man.

Coconut oil straight away after the bath before you dry him. Otherwise, there’s a moo or cow sounding name something I think that people l know love? Brain fade sorry

leatherpants DS hates tummy time so much. Just lays his head down and cries when I try. But the little shit will do it “properly” for MH so I’m ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ on it. He’s so close to the right size for the sit me up. I got it out and DS1 yells “Froggy chair!!!” Which is what we always called it when he was using it so I guess he loved it as much as us.

Someone here had a pic of their LO doing tummy time on a boppy so I tried that and he's definitely happier for longer, but I have to watch him.

Today I went shopping with my BFFs and all our babies at the outlet mall and I'm so tired. My SIL invited us over for supper because her sister is out, but idk if I have the energy.

L rolls over the second you put her down for tummy time. Every time. She does the little push up and that's the end of it. I know its important as a precursor to crawling, but its been a few weeks now and the novelty hasn't worn off. Lol. Stinker.
I like those sit me up chairs! Hadn't seen those before. But...DNW to buy something else at all. I'm already looking forward to getting rid of all this stuff!

The frog one is the cutest but I couldn’t find it. I had it for DS1 and sold it. And I don’t know about everyone else but you can get like half the retail price back selling it afterwards. So, it just makes good financial sense.

L doesn’t mind tummy time now, but he would only tolerate it for a couple minutes before. I used the boppy and that definitely helped for a while. I think he could see more of what was going on as opposed to just looking straight at the floor. Once he started rolling, I stopped using the boppy and he’d roll over as soon as I put him on his belly. That lasted for like a week. I don’t know if he forgot how to get back to his back, but now he just stays on his tummy for a while until he eventually gets fussy and I have to come help him flip back over.

DD2 looooves looking at a mirror during tummy time so we adjusted one on her little activity mat to be visible. It might be worth a try to keep the rolling babies entertained!

Also, 1 year ago today was the date we transferred both our embryos from our IVF cycle. I am so glad it was successful and we now have L! Crazy...this was my transfer date last year too!! Happy transfer day to both of our “L’s”! ❤️❤️❤️

Hugs sweetc129! My kid also hates tummy time. He is **this close** to rolling belly to back but only because he hates it so much. Otherwise he has no interest in rolling. He seems like he just doesn’t care. We have tried the sit me up. DS1 hated it despite everyone saying it was this miracle thing. I was hoping for better results this time. So far L tolerates it for a few minutes before he gets angry. So still not a hit. By contrast - DS1 now thinks it’s amazing and got stuck in it the other day. Not going to lie - we all had a good laugh.

It folds flat so we would take it to parks, friends houses etc. was great as a “I must hold the baby” repellent at extended family gatherings 🙄😂 I got mine second hand and you wouldn’t know. They’re not in stores here new anymore for some reason. Hands down the best piece of baby gear I have.

Yes but it wasn’t a normal boppy, it’s a smaller design specifically for tummy time.

My kid hates tummy time, just lays with his head on the floor and screams😩 I know you’re not supposed to compare kids but my DD was rolling by this time already! He does love to be held up on my should and look around though. I’m going to try the sit me up tomorrow I think.
I’m also worried because he doesn’t like anyone else but me to hold him. Not DH, not any grandparents, not friends. I seriously don’t know how he’s going to survive when I go back to work next week😩

auri, I've heard olive / coconut oil is helpful? Brush it through the hair after a bath. polson, I have had a few breakouts and my share of mood swings, and ovulation type signs, but no period. I don't typically get it until 8-9 months pp and I'll be sorely disappointed if it shows sooner this time around. yianna, Welcome back! Pop in as you may. I hope you're enjoying maternity leave and I hope the transition back is smooth for you.

OMG you guys my H is looking up research about how CFOs and other higher ups are successful with 4+ kids and talking to me about how to be a successful working mom via these articles. I may kill him. Don't effing talking to me about how to be a working mom. DONT talk to me about what goes through a moms brain. DO NOT talk to me about how to create balance and be successful at work while also running a household. These articles all talk about housekeepers, nannys, mothers helpers, etc. Good luck finding one we can afford on my salary. <death stares buddy...> I know he's trying to be encouraging and just sharing info, and has no expectation that I'm going back to 'real work' anytime soon. Seriously … yianna I'd love to hear your perspective and know what works for your family.

+1 to the kid hating tunmy time club. He won't even open his hands to try and push off and just gets pissed. As a result we probably do tummy time less than we should.
Also +1 to the sit me up seat. I bought it second d hand and I. So glad I did. DH and I even get to eat dinner at the same time because of it.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL dizzycooks. Tell him to spend less time finding and sending you articles and more time meal planning, cleaning, and folding laundry. That’s how you help a working mom. JFC. Talk about the road to hell being paved with good intentions.

L had bad cradle cap a few weeks ago. I read online to put aquaphor on 15 minutes before bath and that really helped get it off. She gets it all over her forehead and eyebrows too. I used a brush in the bath as well.
