We hate tummy time over here too. She immediately gets fussy about being on her tummy. She was very close to rolling from her back to tummy but now she hates even laying on her back. She only wants to be sitting up. And unless she is tired she has to be held in a sitting up position. The sit me up has really helped.

DD2 also dislikes tummy time. For weeks she’s been doing a very clumsy roll to get out of it. She just throws her big head to the side super hard and knows that will get her out of it. Idk if it’s technical “rolling” it’s like... falling with style.

Thanks everyone for the ideas on fixing the cradle cap. I used olive oil and brushed it after bath time. It’s looking better today.

We hate tummy time too. Less than she did a few weeks ago, but enough to make me avoid it.
E has some cradle cap too but I haven't tried to do anything about it yet. DS is 3 and still has some because it is a fight to get him to do anything with his hair.

DS is staying with my mom and dad this week-- a real treat for him, since they are 5 hours away and he loves spending time with them. Unfortunately DH and I can't really take advantage to go on any date night or anything, since we still have the baby, but I've been able to go running after work a couple times this week which I don't usually get to do.
DS has been tough lately with behavior. Apparently he is mostly great for my mom and dad, which I'm happy about. This is the first year I've really felt like having him away for a week was a relief. I feel guilty saying that. I miss him a lot of course. But he is just so, so exhausting and its really been a nice break for us.

calendula i was wondering about boarding school for my 2 yo... i feel you though! my mom is having my niece and dd1 spend the night at her house tonight and i’m super excited to not be woken up for the day at 545. she is taking them shopping and doing a sewing project with them. i get to pick her up after nap time tomorrow. she’s in daycare today so i’m hoping to feel extra rested/have more patience with her for friday. h is meeting friends after bedtime tonight so i’m extra pumped about alone time.

I have the lion sit me up chair but gave it my parents for their house and ordered a different one that says it goes up to toddlers for our house. Now I'm nervous it won't be as good.
The toddler is playing Play-Doh in the kitchen. Elle is playing on her mat in the living room. Who do I hang out with??

Related note: how young does all summer sleepaway camp start? Asking for a friend. There’s a camp in Tennessee that does overnight camps starting at age 7. Not that I was looking into it for my almost 5 year old. 😉 I just did a search for overnight camps in my state.

Wednesdays are our busiest days. D1 has school, gymnastics, and swimming class. We are done with evening swim class after this week thank goodness. And she got her pajama dress in the toilet last night but didn't say anything until I noticed our sheets were wet after she was sitting on our bed. So I had to fit in a trip to the laundromat today to wash our comforter.
My patience with D1 has been a little short lately as well. For the past two weeks she has been not listening and adamant about doing everything herself. Which I want her to be independent but somethings she just can't do yet and she just argues so much.

My H is getting a vasectomy today. I offered to go with him but he said no. Then he told his parents he was going by himself (but didn't clarify I offered) so I'm pretty sure they dislike me even more. They were practically begging him to let them take him last night. <eye roll>
He's a little panicky about the whole thing. So I am being nice and making him steak tonight and I ordered a cake that says "Snip Snip Hooray" hahaha.
I thought I'd feel a little sad about this being 100% the end of our child having days, but I am actually really fine. There's no way I can handle being pregnant again.

snip snip hooray is making me laugh this morning cornpop. Sorry about your ILs. They sound like real prizes. How weird is it to talk about your vasectomy with your parents anyway.

My in laws were all up in my BIL’s vasectomy business. I know entirely too much about it thanks to them. Gives me the creeps.

Yeah he didn't tell them at first. I'm kind of surprised he did. I didn't mention it to my parents because it felt too weird.

Good luck to your H cornpopMy MIL who lives in Iowa happened to be in Canada where her son (my BIL) lives when he got his v, so she took him to the appointment. My H never has to get a v because both my tubes were removed January 2017. I am getting probably 10 inches chopped off my hair tonight. I haven’t had a haircut in 2 years. I am going to donate it to Pantene’s wig program. I also might get a pedicure and a new outfit since my end of school year bonus is in tomorrow’s paycheck.

Awesome woodenshoes! Good luck to your H cornpop! Night 2 of crib sleep went just ok. She’s up to eat a lot more often which sucks with walking across the hall. And then we tried letting her arms free of the swaddle - which allowed her to chew her fingers when she lost her soother but also let her pull her soother out all the easier. Sigh. But she’s getting so close to rolling over I know it has to be done soon. Rant.

cornpop that made me snort laugh 😂 I just switched up the furniture and reorganized my living room and I loooooove it. Unfortunately it does seem like a bigger TV would be a better fit for the room (design wise since the room is long) but I don’t think that’s necessary AT ALL. DH will notice immediately and want to work an extra OT shift or two to get it 😑

Hi friends. I'm sorry I've been MIA. DH's parents are in town for their annual month-long vacation to the beach, so we're spending most of our spare time with them and it's wearing me thin. And having my toddler off of preschool is exhausting. All he does is ask me for snacks all day, I swear. Thank goodness the baby has been fairly low-maintenance. cornpop Good luck to your H! whatsit I hope sleep gets better soon as she adjusts to the changes. Hang in there! woodenshoes Enjoy having some self-care time! Definitely take a before and after of the haircut, too. And lots of solidarity with those with tough toddlers right now. A switch flipped when mine turned three last month and it's been...something else.

I woke J up laughing at @cornpops cake! woodenshoes Pip your new haircut! Took my car to get it checked before our trip. Needs a new tire...apparently it has a nail in it that can’t be patched.

Pro tip. If you do want to buy zippadee zips, sign up and put them in your cart then leave it. They often send you a “you didn’t complete purchase, here’s a discount” code.

I’m so terrified to give up the swaddle. He’s not even anywhere close to rolling so we have time but I’m already sweating just thinking about it😅

I’m so terrified to give up the swaddle. He’s not even anywhere close to rolling so we have time but I’m already sweating just thinking about it😅 I felt the same way. Our pedi recommended we start transitioning out of the swaddle at 2 months but... lolno. We kept swaddling until he started rolling back to belly during the day, then used the Merlin. It was mildly rough for a couple nights, but he’s doing pretty well with it now (🤞🏼🤞🏼I didn’t just jinx us). It’s still harder for him to fall asleep on his own initially and when we wakes MOTN, but the pacifier has been our savior these days.
