I’m feeling very sleepy today. I feel like I was going nonstop all weekend, but I didn’t really do anything. Except I did mow the grass while H hung out with L. It was the first time I mowed in close to a year and it was actually nice to get outside for a couple hours without worrying about L.
We bought a skip hop activity center for L and tried it out with him yesterday. He’s still a little too small and needs more trunk strength I think, but he seemed to like it. Yay for another piece of baby gear to fill up or living room. I did put away the rnp since we haven’t used it in forever. I’m still a little bitter than it wasn’t magical for L like it was for basically all the other babies I know.

I went on a long walk last night with my bff. We’ve just started getting together to walk our dogs in the evening after the kids are in bed. I might have to start putting bug spray on when we go out though. Last night I went to bed and found a tick on me. What’s so good about summer? All the yucky bugs want to eat me, it’s super hot, and it’s very humid. I think I’m ready for fall now.

Also it helps to live somewhere less humid and not that many bugs.

auri I’m terrified of ticks. The house we are moving to doesn’t have a fence and has tons of deer.

Love our baby seat. We had a bumbo with our oldest, but our middle had hip dysplasia and was in a harness and couldn’t use a seat. J has been so antsy for something new. Today would be my mom’s 70th Birthday. That sucks. But cute baby 😍

Hmm I hadn’t thought about the activity centre.... I don’t she has the trunk strength either. But I remember shoving blankets around G in it when he first used it. Hmm We also have a bumbo and we’ve sat her in it a few times. G likes to think he can fit in it too though....
Apparently jolly jumper age use can start around 3 months if their neck strength is good enough? (I was curious and looked it up). I’m tempted but still think she needs a bit more time.

I’ve been MIA.
My maternity leave is almost over. How did these weeks fly by? I’m telling you all - the time is faster with each babe. It’s freaking insane.
I have just shy of 3 weeks left. My official go back date is 7:16 but I may go back the previous Wednesday for half days to ease myself in. My last week of leave is on my vacation time and I don’t want to use it all for that... so we will see.

I'm back to work and actually enjoying it. DH started his month of pat leave and is totally gaga over spending his days with L. I miss her of course but its nice to have some balance. I'm also enjoying seeing my coworkers daily.
My job screwed up my pay and continued to pay me while I was out, and although they didn't notice I obviously had to report it. So now I'm not getting paid until August. Annoying.

I popped E in a bumbo at a friend's house over the weekend and she does not have the trunk strength to sit in it for more than 2 minutes. Not that she lets me put her down for that long anyway.

I've been casually searching for a tattoo artist to do a piece and I just found someone via Instagram. I browsed, fell in love immediately and sent an email to get on her wait list. I'm going to get my babies' birth month flowers- daffodils and lily of the valley- but not sure where. Probably my forearm.

N isn't ready for the bumbo yet, but I pulled it out the other day and my almost-2-year - old DS wanted to sit in it. I told him he was too big and two seconds later I turned around and he was sitting in it lol.
On another DS related note, he is daytime potty trained!!
My grandma is visiting this week to see N for the first time and be here for DS's birthday party this weekend. She's 90 but in great health so DS gets to drag "great bamma" all over the house and yard showing off for her. It's adorable 😊

I am trying to keep up, but life is insanely busy. We were at Mackinac Island last week. Now we are at my parents since my brother’s family is in town. It is a little chaotic here. The hardest thing with all the traveling is that if L isn’t sleeping in his car seat he is screaming. I don’t know how we are going to make our almost annual 12 hour trip to Iowa to visit the ILs this summer.
I had my sister bring a sit me up type toy to my parents house to try with L and he did well in it. He is always trying to sit up so it doesn’t surprise me.
I am trying to get DS1 to try new foods since he is picky. Last night he finally tried cheese pizza and he liked it. He said he will try more new food when he is 5 in about 5 months.
Also, 1 year ago today was the date we transferred both our embryos from our IVF cycle. I am so glad it was successful and we now have L!

Yes! It's so weird. Maybe tmi but I feel like I'm ovulating just based on crampiness and mucous. I didn't get a period until 12 months pp after havung my son so I hope I get that long of a break again.

I’m so sorry sweetc129. Your baby looks so cute though and is doing so well in the sit me up! I keep trying but he’s still so small. His face is right level with the front part. He loves it though

I keep having ovulation signs and then no period. It is driving me nuts. Plus my endometriosis symptoms are returning already, and I'm anxious to start the mini pill to see if it helps, but I've read that its better to wait to take the pill on the first day of AF. So I'm waiting and waiting. My endo bloat has been so so so bad. I'm considering starting the pill midcycle because I can't wait any more. Anyone else start their minipill before getting AF?

I have never been on the mini pill but I would think the only impact would be on the first cycle of pills if it is best to take on the first day. I say go ahead and take it instead of waiting in order to relieve some symptoms. It might be the best day but it isn't the only day.

I just had my IUD put in. Apparently my uterus is just big enough for it and there is a relatively high chance of it falling out. I had no idea that this was a thing. Switching to something smaller seemed like too much work because my insurance has already reimbursed me for it so here is to hoping it stays in.

J is starting to get really bad cradle cap. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with it? I know it won’t hurt him, so I’m planning on just talking to his pediatrician at his next appointment. I just didn’t know if there’s anything I should be doing about it until then.

After my first two I took the mini pill starting at 6w and got my first P.O. at 1 year and at 8m.
