Today in water table news: soap foam bubbles! It might be a bigger hit than the ice. For the fluffy white foam it was 2 tablespoons dawn in 1/4 cup water. Whipped in my stand mixer on high for 1-2 minutes. For the denser colored foam: 1/4 cup soap in 1/4 cup water, couple drops of food coloring and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch (supposedly keeps it alive longer) ETA: I just gave him a big spoon and he's loving scooping the foam up. A small sand shovel and bucket would be good too. |

I have made a list of Pinterest activities for the summer. I will report back as we do them. Until then here are three thins that I've done with DS recently that were big hits:
-blow up balloons and smack them with fly swatters (from the dollar store). He also enjoyed playing soccer, volleyball, and baseball with them.
-use markers to draw on said balloons (caution: child will end up covered in marker)
-paint with water. I filled a bowl with water and gave him paint brushes. He loves to paint the house, the deck, the sidewalk, rocks... everything

Amazon sent 3 jumbo boxes of diapers all boxed together. DS is obsessed with his "house" and we've spent hours coloring on it. Yesterday I cut a mail slot which bought some additional entertainment and he also loved using his tools to fix the house and taking some kitchen equipment inside to cook.
