My kid is currently putting away an entire scrambled egg. What's going on today?

A friend of mine linked her Pokemon Go trainer code (so others can add her as a friend) on FB yesterday which reminded me that when it first launched, H and I had a good time walking around and looking for them. So, I downloaded it last night. I'm pretty excited to take E to the park today and hunt for some pokemon I don't follow the show or the trading card game but the app is pretty fun, even if I don't know much about all the pokemon.

Our entire house is sick - I'm assuming thanks to DD's first week of preschool. She was DX with sinus infection and ear infection on Saturday, and H and I woke up with sore throats yesterday. DS has been a snotty whiny mess, plus he's teething. So basically living the dream over here. I'm going to the clinic on campus today and H found an urgent care place near where he is working so he's going to stop by. I'll likely be making an appointment for DS for tomorrow if he doesn't seem better this afternoon (his only symptom is a runny nose so far).

thatgirlrachel Oh no! Sorry you are all sick - that really blows. Fingers crossed you guys recover quickly. cythe Enjoy your Pokémon adventures at the park today! Funny story. I was attending a business lunch about 2 years ago, and as I was walking into the restaurant, I see the guy I am meeting (in a business suit) carefully climbing out of some bushes/landscaping on the side of the restaurant. He was so startled that I caught him climbing out of the bushes - and before I could ask, he just said “Pokémon.” 😂🤣

Normal day here - DS1 seems to be over his herpangina (no more spots in mouth, no fever), and so far, DS2 isn’t showing any signs of having caught it. I have my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed that DS2 doesn’t come down with it, but I think we’re almost out of the woods! 🤞🤞

Slow day over here. Work is unusually slow, too. I’m sure I’ll have an influx of projects now that I said that.
I need to find where I put the outlet covers because I missed one and of course the baby gravitates to that one only.

cythe, You just reminded me to try eggs with DS. This past week we've been slowly introducing him to very broken up real food (allergies and his gag reflex have been holding us back). But eggs are on his cleared list of allergies so we need to introduce asap!

Not much here . I was about to take the girls out to get groceries but DD2 was ready for her morning nap. We live like 15 minutes from the store so a car nap wouldn’t be enough. Gah!
How does anyone get anything done with two littles and two nap schedules?!?! It seems like our day revolves around naps and food prep/meals with little time for other adventures. Both kids are really good nappers/nighttime sleepers so I don’t want to screw up our schedule too much but it leaves so little time for other stuff.

My DD is 2.5 and is starting to be able to skip naps. I know this is super kid-specific, but it's so helpful when we are so busy on the weekends to have to worry about just one kid napping. Esp bc he can kind of nap wherever. Although, when she does nap we just try to coordinate their afternoon nap at the same time. I'll put them both down around 1:30 or 2:00 and they both get a nap in.

PSA: Carter's has free shipping on all orders today, no minimum. I try to take advantage of this when I just need (want) 1 or 2 things.

Just barely catching up. Taitai 😱😱 HFM I’m glad to see that DS is doing better and I’m praying baby doesn’t get it and neither will you nor DH. I heard it’s worse for adults. thatgirlrachel curse the preschool plague. I hope DD has a stronger immunity than DS. The first 6 months DS kept getting sick every couple of weeks and got us sick too. I was so desperate early this year I started giving him multi vits and elderberry supplements. Hoping you’ll all have a quick recovery

I just used double stick tape on my wrap top at work 😅 I think with me constantly pulling it apart for pumping it’s getting stretched out 😯

My DD is older (3.5) so I just time her nap/quiet time with DS’s and have right from when he was born. I will put him down when he’s ready for a nap and then put her down for nap/quiet time right after. She’s pretty flexible on timing and is 50/50 on whether she sleeps or just rests so that helps. I find the best time for me for errands etc is right after DS wakes up from his morning nap. I will often bring snacks for on the go because sometimes lunch ends up late depending on how long we are out

DH is on vacation this week but we don’t leave for the mountains until Wednesday. I left DS home with him and am at a special mermaid story time with DD. She is loving it but man, there are a lot of poorly behaved kids here 😳

Finished my morning project which was my new lamp post fixture. I got it at a garage sale for $9 and it's going to look awesome with my new landscaping I did yesterday. I had to tear the light apart, scrape off paint and spray paint it to match the finish on my lamp post (which I also spray painted yesterday). The previous lamp fixture owners sprayed grill paint? on the glass because "it was too bright" and yet they had 3, 60w light bulbs inside lmao. People, man. Anyway, here's some project spam for you.

Her schedule seems so much more set in stone because that’s how she functions as a kid - always napping by 12:30/1:00, whereas DD2 is much more “take a morning an afternoon nap” kind of schedule. We did the grocery run between morning nap and lunch and it worked ok today. I think I’m going to bring snacks along next time since it definitely pushes lunch back! I only have summers off so I think I’m just trying to cram too much in to this little time I have with them.
