I feel like I need to do something active today. I've been noodling around an idea about starting a nonprofit (or business? I don't know yet if a NP would be legal here) where parents can send their kids to get comprehensive sex education since Indiana is abstinence only ed. Is that a totally awful idea? Anyways, I texted a school admin friend about it because I think she could help me formulate lesson plans. I know a ton of nurses and even an RE who might be interested in participating. I would probably openly hope to be put out of business though, so that might not be the world's best business plan. Lol. I'm a thousand years late, but a good friend of mine worked here for a long time (and still works in the sex ed policy space.) If you aren't familiar with them yet, it might give you some direction/resources. www.siecus.org misspatty, I missed your post, but I've been considering singing similar. PM me!

I've been wondering this for a while now - who are these 13 angry Democrats exactly? They are people who are working for Mueller on the probe. Obviously they are super biased and taint the entire process. But not that it matters anyway, because witch hunt. (/sarcasm)

Someone sent pizza to a newsroom to thank the reporters. Some people are good people.

And permit patty from SF did call the police on the little girl selling water. She lied to the press and said she was “just pretending” to call. POS.

I think she took a picture with them and then turned around to post this to mock them.

Interesting idea.
The Constitution doesn't mandate a specific number of Supreme Court Justices--it only requires the existence of a court. So theoretically Democrats, should they take power, could add another Justice to effectively neutralize any extremist judges.

Didn't FDR try at add more judges and it got held up because of the backlash? ETA: I looked it up. He wanted to add six judges to being the total to fifteen. He did name nine justices to the court, though, over the course of his terms.

So theoretically Democrats, should they take power, could add another Justice to effectively neutralize any extremist judges. Didn't FDR try at add more judges and it got held up because of the backlash? I didn't know that but yes "The U.S. Constitution established the Supreme Court but left it to Congress to decide how many justices should make up the court. The Judiciary Act of 1789 set the number at six: a chief justice and five associate justices. In 1807, Congress increased the number of justices to seven; in 1837, the number was bumped up to nine; and in 1863, it rose to 10. In 1866, Congress passed the Judicial Circuits Act, which shrank the number of justices back down to seven and prevented President Andrew Johnson from appointing anyone new to the court. Three years later, in 1869, Congress raised the number of justices to nine, where it has stood ever since. In 1937, in an effort to create a court more friendly to his New Deal programs, President Franklin Roosevelt attempted to convince Congress to pass legislation that would allow a new justice to be added to the court—for a total of up to 15 members—for every justice over 70 who opted not to retire. Congress didn’t go for FDR’s plan." Source: www.history.com/news/7-things-you-might-not-know-about-the-u-s-supreme-court
