This morning they were talking about Strokz testimony yesterday and they are concerned that Mueller didnt dive deeper into his text messages...about clintons emails.
When did Mueller become in charge of the clinton investigation? He removed Strokz when he found out about the texts.
They keep saying his scope should be limited. Well he is limiting it unless Hillz was emailing Putin then her 'unsecured server and emails' are outside of the scope.
And I know bias and all that jazz but he was removed as soon as the so called bias was uncovered. And I'm sure all of his work was relooked at.

As a Virginian I'm really worried. If the midterms become about a SCOTUS seat, every single evangelical in Virginia will turn out and vote for the Republican, even though Corey Stewart is absolute trash. They'll make the Faustian bargain of voting for human garbage "because abortion." They did it for Trump, they'll do it again.
We could lose a strong, experienced Senator and champion of women and immigrants for a Nazi.

Bernie is under my skin lately. Every other news story seems to be about his opinion on things. It’s annoying. I’m ready for Bernie to fade away now. Never going to happen. He's going to run in 2020 again and fuck everything up.

That's weird and concerning. He is chairman of the IDU, so my hope is that he's meeting with Bolton (with whom he has a relationship since he was the US ambassador to Canada during Harper's time in power) to push core conservative ideology that Trump has abandoned. The GOP is part of the IDU, so it's not unrealistic to think Harper is going in that capacity. There would be minimal effects from a meeting like that, just général politicking. But it's weird AF that he didn't tell Trudeau's people or the embassy in DC. It's underhanded and slimy, like so much of what Harper did when he was PM. The skeptic in me assumes he's looking for work. do you guys not have something akin to our Logan Act?

I believe we do, in that you can't present yourself as a representative of the country if you are unauthorized, but his position as IDU chairman makes that a hard argument to sell. I'm sure he can hide behind that position even though everyone knows he's most likely there talking/advising about Canada.

Trump is in Milwaukee today at the FoxConn groundbreaking ceremony. I'm watching FB lives videos of protests in downtown Milw. My friend is running for Lt. Governor and he is there and protesting and I love him even more for it.

Do any of you read McSweeney's? It's smart and funny and often irreverent and they published a list of "New Collective Nouns for 2018," and I love them. A few of my favorites are: An anger of women A courage of high-school students A cowardice of Congresspersons A mortgage of avocados www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/new-collective-nouns-for-2018

BBC has reported that the EU voted to ban all US agricultural products from eight states and wine from California in line with the bans China will be imposing beginning 7/27.
Are we done winning yet?

Protestors have blocked an interstate off-ramp in downtown Milwaukee, a few blocks from Trump's hotel.

I hope someone upperdecks Bernie's toilet. GO away old man. But he's "lived longer and seen more things, so his opinions hold more weight." <-- quote from my MIL RBG has like 20 years on her, so I wonder if she'd be into switching her opinions to agree with someone who has lived longer and seen more things? Sorry, clearly I am still hung up on this, lol I double dog dare you to say that to her. Jk. But really, it would be funny. I said something along those lines when my future SIL very condescendingly called me “young lady” when she disagreed with some of our wedding plans. Pointed out that it was condescending and she said “you’re younger than me so it’s the truth”. I then asked if it would be appropriate to call her “old lady” as she was 15 years older or if that was rude. The silence was deafening before she began yelling. I still snicker over it. And she never called me “young lady” again.

I'm surprised IL isn't in that list Petty me posted asking my Midwest friends how they felt about all of these impacts to ag. Petty me applauds you. There's a Walmart closing near me and people are up in arms because of job loss, and I just want to say, well what did you expect with a shithead in charge of everything?

Petty me posted asking my Midwest friends how they felt about all of these impacts to ag. They're blaming countries that are implementing counter-tariffs and saying that they are being unfair since Trump is just trying to correct trade deficits which may or may not exist but they won't do a bare minimum level of fact checking because they're brainwashed. PDQ *poof*

This does not shock me at all. MH and most of my friends have worked in animation for 20 years and this is rampant. Even in the good studios, it's there in sneaky, quiet ways - just looking at the representation within management and supervisory positions will generally show just how hard it is for women to advance their careers.

I wanted to go into animation when I was younger. I had one internship. I was 19, working mostly with men in their late 20s and 30s, and they made me so uncomfortable, I quit after 3 days. I decided animation wasn't for me. That's really unfortunate and I'm sorry that happened. I'm thankful all the time that MH works for a great studio with a better head on its shoulders about this stuff than most. This stuff still happens, I'm sure, and there's other weird sexist bullshit from employees (not management!) in some departments particularly when women take mat leave or need accommodations for kids, but I've never heard anyone who works there talk about the same toxic culture that exists elsewhere. There are entitled male assholes everywhere being gross, but they get called out there.

This saddens me. I'm not terribly surprised, but it still sucks. My oldest is targeting her career aspirations toward animation, too, so it makes me nervous for her. Maybe this will mean things will change by the time she enters the work field. One can hope, right?

Smaller studios seem slightly less prone to this than the big ones, too, from what my social circle has experienced. None of them work for Disney/Dreamworks/Netflix/any of the big names directly, they all work for local studios who get contracts from the big studios, and those local studios have (at least here) been better than the stories you hear.
