Our computers are down again at work. This is the third time since I started with them in January. The IT company has no idea what happened and our head of IT person barely knows how to work our system so he's no help. IT issues are the bane of my existence. I'm sorry.

You guys are so chatty today.
I've had a day of bad news so I'm hoping to turn things around and make the day better.
Basically our contractor can't do our kitchen during my planned 2 weeks away in July with the kids. So now we might postpone indefinitely and come up with a new plan. Not sure how long though because we both hate our current kitchen.
Then I got a computer-generated email from my husband's company saying they were going to pass on me for a job. I didn't even get a phone screen. MH was mad because he thought it was customary that they would at least talk to me. I'm feeling really down about my job search in general.

Living in a kitchen reno sounds like hell.. But maybe worth if the kitchen sucks so bad. Just do lots of take out and PB&J.

I'm sorry Snoop. Is there another contractor that he could recommend? And that's awful about the generated email. I'm sure they do it to make sure you get notification but with job searches they should take the time to chat, it's such a emotional roller coaster.
If there is anything we can do to help, we're here.

Morning. I did the oil change/safety inspection yesterday. I've been at Fitestone to get my tires aligned since 730. Still. Waiting. My phone screen shattered two weeks ago. It shattered again yesterday. It was charging on the counter and I tripped over the cord. I'm just done. I cried on the floor like a child. All the car expenses and now my phone. Again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'm sorry. I've had bad luck with my phone for the past year... I'm on my 3rd or 4th since August. Twice I had to return the insurance phone because of a defect with the phone. It's super frustrating, especially the backing up and restoring. It takes forever!

From the time I was in grade school and couldn't burn down my house, my parents slept in and we fended for ourselves weekend mornings. Basically poured ourselves some cereal and plopped in front of the cartoons. I plan to do the same. I like sleep. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My plan as well. Plus my DH is a light sleeper so he will probably get up with them anyways.

Can you guys give me the name of a great paperback read? A woman from work is retiring and people are filling up a tote bag with books as a present. I told MH that you were the best focus group out there and I know you'd have an answer for me. Historical fiction, well written and thrillers thing to fluffy or chick-lit driven. Ooh just finished a good one, A Bridge Across the Ocean by Susan Meisner(sp?) set in present day and post WWII (went back and forth b/n the two). Lilac Girls was *excellent* (WWII) Also really liked America's First Daughter (based on the very interesting life of Thomas Jefferson's daughter Patsy). Currently reading JoJo Moyes' latest, One + One. Also recently enjoyed one that I think Downton Abbey fans would like, The Summer Before the War by Helen Simonson. It was wonderful; set in WWI small-town England. Just a really good story, good characters. Most of these are fairly newish releases but all in paperback.

Cher Dh was teaching C how to use the remote this weekend. He shares your goals of sleeping in on the weekend. FFTC: H has known how to run the remote for months. Most mornings she wakes up before DH leaves for work and I stay in bed for a little while with S. Some mornings it bites me in the ass, like when she finds ice cream or other treats to eat, but usually she just hangs out on the couch. I can see the living room from my bed.

My doc was on vacay last week, and this week he is sick from that vacay. This is my first "check" and the appointment where I have all the questions and ,of course, it's with another doctor. I'm still waiting.... I have to get back to work people!
I'm also hungry. No, starving. It's lunch time.

melaniesue I'm glad he's ok! So scary! chrisy01 I'm really sorry about Newman. I feel like I will never get to sleep in because at his current rate, Evan will be tall enough to reach the fridge and pantry to make breakfast at 15. H can't reach anything, she's like 12%ile for height. She just pushes the counter stools to the fridge or whatever to get what she wants.

I'm sorry snoopmommymom, that stinks. I may be a glutton for punishment but I'd probably go ahead with the reno. It's always going to stink but at least in the summer/early fall you can get the kids out of the house more easily. Could they do it when O is back in school this fall so you'd only have to deal with one child getting underfoot some days?

Le sigh. Swim cancelled again due to thunder and lightning in the area. This is a FWP, I know.
At least we got our errands done this morning; now to fill the 3 hours til DH gets home.

I've avoided teaching Layla. With my luck I'd wake up to her watching Pound Puppies at 3am on a damn Tuesday. I normally just have her crawl into bed with me and I'll turn something on for her if I want to doze more.

I cleared everything for Father's Day with my ILs before I paid for anything. BIL can't go.. I'm trying not to be mad because it was an honest mistake. But dammit.

csho can you share pics of the houses? We need to make an informed decision! Alright, I'll post on the private board! Everyone is required to weigh in, obviously.

For those whose kids know how to use the remote, how many remotes do you have? We have 3, one for the tv, one for the satellite receiver and one for the surround sound. Do they know what buttons to push on all those or are we do we just have an abnormal amount of remotes?
E does know what button to push when the satellite turns itself off after 2 hours of no activity, but that's it.
My luck, she would turn the surround sound on as loud as possible, then bring me the remote because it's too loud, just like she does with my phone and the tablet when she's watching videos and turns them up!

One time I did wake up to her watching tv on her own at like 4am. I shut that shit down quick.

We have a tv remote and one for the amazon firestick. She knows the on button and the volume buttons on the tv remote. If anything gets changed (like it's switched from the firestick) she can't do anything. She is a master with the firestick.
